Farmer Profession
The Farmer profession in Starsand Island is mentored by Graminova at the Happiness Seed Shop. Farming covers crop cultivation, Gmax crops, fruit tree harvesting, flower cross-breeding, and full farm automation with Sprinklers and Auto Fertilizer systems. The Farmer profession is widely recommended as the second profession to pursue after Crafter, since it establishes passive income and a reliable food supply.

Apprentice Farmer
The Apprentice Farmer certification teaches the basics of crop growing. Graminova gives you free Wheat Seeds and some fertilizer to get started. This is one of the easiest certification quests in the game.
Quest Steps
Visit Graminova at the Happiness Seed Shop.
Receive 3 Wheat Seeds and fertilizer for free. Purchase 3 more from the Seed Shop (6 total is recommended).
Till 6 plots of soil near your house using the Hoe.
Plant one Wheat Seed per plot and water each plot with the Watering Can.
Wait approximately one in-game day for the Wheat to mature. Apply fertilizer to speed up growth.
Harvest the mature Wheat and return to Graminova to become an Apprentice Farmer.
Apprentice Trial
After certification, accept the Flour Purchase request from the Bulletin Board at the Community Center. This request comes from Pastelle, who needs 8 Flour. Craft a Separator at the Worktable, process your Wheat into Flour, and deliver it to Pastelle.
Rewards
Apprentice Farmer Certificate and title
Access to basic seasonal crop seeds at the Seed Shop
Farming skill tree unlocked in the Workpedia
Junior Farmer
The Junior Farmer certification introduces Trellises and climbing plants. Graminova teaches you how to grow Grapes and craft Juice, which serves as both a consumable and a profitable trade good.
Quest Steps
Speak to Graminova to start the Junior certification.
Purchase Grape Seeds from the Seed Shop.
Craft Trellises using Softwood Planks at the Worktable. Grapes are climbing plants that require a Trellis to grow on.
Plant the Grape Seeds on plots adjacent to the Trellises and water them.
Harvest a total of 30 Grapes (either Green or Red; you only need one color).
Purchase the Juicer blueprint from the General Store and craft it.
Process all 30 Grapes in the Juicer to produce 15 portions of Juice.
Deliver the Juice to Graminova to complete the certification.
Rewards
Junior Farmer Certificate and title
Expanded crop selection including climbing plants
Improved fertilizer recipes become purchasable at the Seed Shop
Intermediate Farmer
The Intermediate Farmer certification is where farming becomes interesting. Graminova asks you to grow a Gmax crop (a giant crop formed from a 3x3 grid of seeds) and then craft Fruity Furniture from its fragments. Completing this tier also unlocks Sprinklers, which automate watering and save enormous amounts of daily time.
Quest Steps
Purchase 9 seeds of any in-season crop from the Seed Shop (Pumpkin in Autumn, Watermelon in Summer, etc.).
Till exactly 9 adjacent plots into a 3x3 grid using your Hoe.
Plant one seed per plot and water all of them thoroughly. Apply Gmax Fertilizer if available.
Wait for uniform growth. When all 9 plants mature together, a giant Gmax crop appears in the center of the grid.
Harvest the Gmax crop with a Hatchet. It yields Gmax Fragments plus regular produce.
Take the Gmax Fragments to Alex's Lex Woodworks shop. Purchase the Fruity Sofa and Low Table blueprints.
Craft the Fruity Furniture set using the fragments at your Worktable.
Deliver the finished furniture to Graminova to complete the certification.
Unlocks
Intermediate Farmer Certificate and title
Sprinkler blueprints (auto-water surrounding plots)
Access to Intermediate-tier seeds: fruit tree saplings (Apple, Banana, Orange, Lychee), Corn, Blueberry, Strawberry, Cherry Tomato
Ripening Fertilizer III and Gmax Fertilizer III become purchasable
Senior Farmer
The Senior Farmer certification has two major parts: growing fruit trees and cross-breeding flowers. This tier is the most time-consuming of the five because trees take longer to grow than regular crops, and flower crossbreeding relies on some randomness. Completing the Senior tier unlocks the Grinder, which lets you process harvested crops back into seeds without spending money at the Seed Shop.
Part 1: Fruit Tree Harvest
Purchase tree saplings from the Seed Shop. The available type depends on the current season.
Plant the saplings on your farm. Trees take considerably longer to grow than regular crops.
Apply fertilizer to speed up growth.
Harvest a total of 50 fruit from your trees. You can harvest from multiple trees across different seasons if needed.
Part 2: Flower Cross-Breeding
Graminova asks you to cross-pollinate flowers for his father, Sagewood, to make bouquets. Flowers in Starsand Island come in three base colors (Red, Yellow, and Blue), and through cross-breeding you can produce five hybrid colors: Brown, Green, Orange, Pink, and Purple.
Purchase three types of flower seeds from the Seed Shop: Red, Yellow, and Blue.
Plant two different-colored flowers of the same species with an empty plot between them. When both flowers mature, pollination can occur in the gap, spawning a hybrid-color flower.
Alternate colors in your rows to maximize crossbreeding chances.
Collect 12 flowers of each required hybrid color.
Deliver the flowers to Sagewood, who is usually at his house near Graminova's garden.
Return to Graminova to complete the certification.
Rewards
Senior Farmer Certificate and title
Grinder blueprint (process crops into seeds)
Access to advanced flower breeding recipes
Everlasting Seed research unlocked
Expert Farmer
The Expert Farmer certification is the final farming trial. Graminova wants proof that you can run a fully automated farm. You need to set up Sprinkler IIs, an Auto Fertilizer Box, and plant Immortal Seeds, which are rare seeds that grow in any season and can be harvested an unlimited number of times.
Quest Requirements
Requirement | Quantity | Details |
|---|---|---|
3 | Purchase blueprint from Seed Shop; craft and place on farm | |
Auto Fertilizer Box | 1 | Purchase blueprint from Seed Shop; keeps nearby crops fertilized automatically |
15 | Rare seeds that grow in any season and produce indefinite harvests |
Obtaining Immortal Seeds
Immortal Seeds are the rarest seeds in the game. The fastest method to obtain them is to eat 5 Mirthshroom Soups (which grants a buff that increases the chance of collecting seeds from harvested crops) and then harvest any mature crops. Repeat this process until you have all 15 Immortal Seeds.
Completion
Once all 15 Immortal Seeds are planted and your Auto Fertilizer Box and 3 Sprinkler IIs are placed on your farm, return to Graminova to receive the Expert Farmer certificate.
Rewards
Expert Farmer Certificate and title
Maximum crop yield upgrades
Access to all seed varieties in the game
Full farming automation capability
Tips and Strategy
Start farming early. Even before pursuing the Junior tier, plant crops daily to build up a stockpile of produce for cooking and selling.
For the Intermediate trial, plant your 3x3 grid with seasonal crops that match the current season. All 9 seeds must be the same crop type.
Use Nutrient Soil IV on parent flowers and Yield Fertilizer on successful hybrids during the Senior trial to speed up crossbreeding.
Build multiple Grinders once you unlock them at Senior tier. Processing crops into seeds saves a lot of money over time.
Sprinklers do not take up a full square, so you can place them efficiently between crop rows to cover the most plots.
If you have extra flowers left over from the Senior trial, sell them before starting the Expert trial to fund the expensive Sprinkler II and Auto Fertilizer Box blueprints.
For Immortal Seeds, stack the Mirthshroom Soup buff with high-yield crops like Wheat or Corn for the best drop rate.
