Finding the entrance
The Moonlit Forest is hidden behind a portal inside a cavern behind the Damaged Door near your home. To break the door, first talk to Zephyria at the Exploration Club (above Green Pasture Ranch). He starts you on the Exploration profession and gives you ammo for your Slingshot. Aim at the two yellow weak spots between the cracks in the door. Once both are hit, the door breaks. Step through to find Copper Ore and Midnight Herbs, and a portal at the back of the cavern.
Zone progression
The Moonlit Forest is divided into connected zones:

Evernight Forest → Gate of Life → Dreamfall Garden (Crystalith boss) → Crystalith Hideout → Azure Bay → Mural Valley → Mural Valley (Glintortle boss) → Moonlight Meadow (Ruin Guard boss)
Zone | Key Objectives | Enemies | Notable Resources | Boss |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Fix starting camp; break Gravemite crystals to release spirits | None (exploration only) | Copper Ore, Tin, Fluorite, Midnight Herbs, Mushrooms, Hydrangeas | None | |

Final boss fight; complete Exploration profession questline | End-game rewards |
Camp system
Multiple camps are scattered throughout the forest with sleeping areas and crafting benches. Each camp has a yellow crystal that must be repaired with 5 Fluorite to activate as a safe zone. Camps serve as respawn points if you die. Stump Stools throughout the forest provide free stamina recovery, sit on them whenever you find one.
Camp | Zone | Activation Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Evernight Camp | 5 Fluorite | Starting camp. Fix it immediately upon entering the forest. | |
Gate of Life Camp | 5 Fluorite | After the repaired bridge. Closest respawn to the spirit door. | |
Crystalith Camp | 5 Fluorite | On the left after defeating Crystalith. Essential before pushing deeper. | |
Mural Valley Camp | Mural Valley | 5 Fluorite | Near the lift to the lower waterfall area. |
Area 1: Evernight Forest
Your starting area. Fix the camp tent, then walk north (toward the giant purple mushrooms), then west. You will find Gravemite crystals orange-glowing rocks that contain trapped spirits. Break them to release spirits you will need later. See the spirit locations guide for all Gravemite locations.
Area 2: Gate of Life
Fix the bridge and continue forward to the Gate of Life tent. Repairing this camp costs 5× Fluorite.
Down the ramp to the left of the tent: A Runebird you can fight for the first Exploration quest, plus a boulder you can break with your Slingshot (leads back to the first tent).
The second and third Gravemites are in this area. You need all three spirits to open the large door.
Through the door, follow the path to a river with a bubble bridge. Cross to the other side.
Area 3: Dreamfall Garden
After crossing the river, you enter the Dreamfall Garden. Walk straight to a gate you need to shoot with your Slingshot. Past the gate, a Luminfrog attacks. Ladders on the left lead up to chests. The gem in the center activates a blue bridge. Across the bridge, you find Iron Ore one of the main Iron locations in the game. Up the staircase, you face the Crystalith boss.
Area 4: Crystalith Hideout
After beating the Crystalith, go through the doorway. The tent is on the left. Another door on the right leads deeper. Through the door and down the path, there is a reward site next to large purple mushrooms for the second set of Gravemite Spirits.
Area 5: Azure Bay
Two paths lead out of Azure Bay:

Location | Description |
|---|---|
Straight ahead | A clearing with another Luminfrog. Beyond that, a golden bubble path across a waterfall leads to a large locked gate. You need two keys from advancing the Exploration profession. |
Up the stone stairs | Leads to Mural Valley. |
Area 6: Mural Valley
Mural Valley has resources you cannot find in Starsand Town, including three varieties of Sleep Lily near the waterfall. Directly across from the campsite is a lift to the lower waterfall area. Down there:
Blue, Red, and Yellow Sleep Lily flowers
Coal Ore deposits
Lotus Leaves from the river
Area 7: Mural Valley
The Mural Valley is accessible after progressing through Azure Bay's locked gate. This area contains the Glintortle boss, widely considered the most difficult boss in the game. Rare resources in this area include Mirthshroom (blue mushrooms that regenerate stamina) and Fluffweave for textile crafting.
Area 8: Moonlight Meadow
The final area of the Moonlit Forest, housing Ruin Guard boss. Reaching this area represents the culmination of the Exploration profession questline.
Boss strategies
The following table summarizes all boss and elite enemy encounters in the Moonlit Forest.
Boss | Location | Weak Spot | Recommended Ammo | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
General body | Basic Slingshot Pellets | Circle-strafe and fire between attacks. Goes down in a few hits. | ||
Dreamfall Garden, Azure Bay | General body | Basic Slingshot Pellets | About 5 hits to kill. Dodge its attacks by moving sideways. Appears multiple times. | |
Bright yellow stomach | 50+ Charged Blast Pellets | Jump over ground-slam shockwaves. Target the stomach. Fire extra shots during its repower phase. | ||
Mural Valley | Glowing shell crystals | Bomb Pellets or Bomb Arrows | Only vulnerable during Tuck & Spin state. Use Mini Sentry Bots for passive DPS. Dodge spin attack by jumping. | |
Top of head (exposed during attacks) | Bomb Arrows | Stay mobile with skateboard. Boss resets health if you retreat too far. Commit to the fight once engaged. |
Runebird (Gate of Life)
The first elite mob you encounter. Dodge its attacks by running around it, then fire your Slingshot between attacks. A few hits and it goes down. Straightforward fight.
Luminfrog
About five Slingshot hits to kill. Dodge its attacks by moving out of the way. Appears multiple times throughout the forest.

Crystalith (Dreamfall Garden)
The first true boss. Weak spot: The bright yellow stomach. Bring 50–60 Charged Blast Pellets. Jump over its ground-slam shockwaves and target the stomach. Fire extra shots during its repower phase from the central crystal. It does not actually regain health from the crystal.
Glintortle (Mural Valley)
The hardest boss. Weak spot: The glowing shell crystals. The Glintortle is only vulnerable during its Tuck & Spin state. Use Bomb Pellets or Bomb Arrows for maximum damage, plus Mini Sentry Bots for passive DPS if available. Dodge its rapid spin attack by jumping, and avoid the water beam. This fight requires patience and good ammo stockpiles.
Ruin Guard (Moonlight Meadow)
The final boss. Weak spots: Top of its head (exposed during certain attack animations). Use Bomb Arrows for best results. Stay mobile, use your skateboard for movement during the fight. Important: The boss resets its health if you retreat too far, so stay committed to the fight once you engage.

Recommended preparation
Before entering the Moonlit Forest, stock up on these supplies. Running out of ammo or healing items mid-dungeon is the most common cause of failure.
Item | Quantity | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
Fluorite | 25+ | Camp crystal repairs cost 5 each. There are multiple camps throughout the forest. |
Charged Blast Pellets | 60+ | Primary ammo for the Crystalith boss fight. Bring extras for regular enemies. |
Bomb Pellets | 30+ | Required for the Glintortle and Ruin Guard fights. Maximum damage during vulnerability windows. |
Bomb Arrows | 20+ | Best ammo for the Ruin Guard final boss. Also effective against Glintortle. |
Basic Slingshot Pellets | 50+ | General-purpose ammo for Runebirds, Luminfrogs, and breakable obstacles. |
Food / Healing Items | 10+ | Restore health between fights. Cooked meals give better recovery than raw ingredients. |
1 | Essential ranged weapon. Required to break doors, activate mechanisms, and fight all bosses. | |
2-3 (optional) | Provide passive damage during boss fights, especially helpful against Glintortle. |
Tips
Repair every camp you find with 5 Fluorite. They are your respawn points if you die.
Bring extra ammo every trip. Running out mid-boss is the most common cause of failure.
Death in the Moonlit Forest ends the day immediately, you wake at a camp location.
Falling out of bounds does not advance the day. You respawn near where you fell.
Sit on Stump Stools for free stamina recovery between fights.
Resources respawn daily at 8 PM. Plan repeat mining runs.
