Cherry Tomato is an Intermediate Farmer-tier trellis crop in Starsand Island, described in-game as fruit whose "little gems are actually the ancestors of modern tomatoes." Also known as grape tomatoes, Cherry Tomatoes grow during Spring and Autumn, providing a reliable two-season income source. The crop matures in 3 days and 6 hours, yields 2 Cherry Tomatoes per harvest, and can be harvested three times from a single planting before the vine is spent.

Cherry Tomato Seeds unlock at the Intermediate Farmer tier of the Farming profession and are purchased from the Happiness Seed Shop for 240 Coins. Because Cherry Tomato is a trellis crop, it requires a Trellis structure rather than standard tilled farmland. The Trellis is unlocked during the Apprentice Farmer tier through the "Natural Delicacies" quest, so by the time you reach Intermediate Farmer you will already have access to it.

With three harvests producing a total of 6 Cherry Tomatoes per seed, Cherry Tomato is one of the most productive trellis crops at its tier. Each fruit sells for 139 Coins, making the total revenue from a single planting 834 Coins against a 240-Coin seed cost. Cherry Tomato can be processed into Cherry Tomato Jam at the Jam Maker, broken down into Fruit Pulp at the Separator, or ground back into seeds using the Grinder. How to Obtain Seeds

Cherry Tomato Seeds are sold by Graminova at the Happiness Seed Shop for 240 Coins per seed bag. The shop is located in Starsand Town and operates daily. You must reach the Intermediate Farmer tier before Cherry Tomato Seeds appear in the shop inventory.

To unlock Intermediate Farmer, you first need to complete the Junior Farmer certification, then fulfill the Intermediate Farmer trial quests given by Graminova. One of these quests requires growing a Gmax (giant) crop, so make sure you have experience with 3x3 grid planting before attempting the certification. Once you earn Intermediate Farmer status, Cherry Tomato Seeds (along with other Intermediate-tier seeds like Corn, Blueberry, and Strawberry) become permanently available for purchase.

Seeds are not locked by season at the point of purchase. You can buy Cherry Tomato Seeds during any season and stockpile them for the next Spring or Autumn planting window. This is especially useful near the end of Summer or Winter when you want to prepare for the coming growing season.

An alternative way to obtain Cherry Tomato Seeds is through the Grinder. Loading Cherry Tomatoes into the Grinder will produce Cherry Tomato Seeds, allowing you to recycle part of your harvest back into planting material. You can also occasionally find seeds through general exploration by chopping trees and shrubs, foraging weeds, and opening Treasure Chests scattered across the island.

Growing Cherry Tomato

Cherry Tomato is a vine crop that requires a Trellis to grow. Unlike crops planted on standard farmland, you place a Trellis structure on the ground and then plant the seed into it. Trellises auto-till the soil beneath them when placed, so you do not need to use your hoe on the ground first. This saves stamina compared to standard Farmland crops where you must till each plot manually.

After planting, Cherry Tomato takes 3 days and 6 hours to reach its first harvest. Water the crop every day for it to grow on schedule. If you skip a day of watering, growth will stall until the next time you water it. Once the plant is ready, harvest it to collect 2 Cherry Tomatoes.

Cherry Tomato is a multi-harvest crop with three total harvests. After the first harvest, the vine does not disappear. Instead, it enters a regrowth phase lasting 9 days and 18 hours. Once regrowth is complete, you can harvest another 2 Cherry Tomatoes. The vine regrows a third time after the second harvest, producing 2 more Cherry Tomatoes before becoming spent. After the third and final harvest, the Trellis becomes empty and you must plant a new seed to continue growing.

In total, one Cherry Tomato seed produces 6 Cherry Tomatoes across three harvests (2 per pick). The full cycle from planting to final harvest takes 22 days and 18 hours (3 days 6 hours initial growth plus two regrowth periods of 9 days 18 hours each). This long cycle means you will rarely complete all three harvests within a single season. Planning your planting around the start of Spring or Autumn gives you the best chance of getting the maximum number of harvests.

Trellis Mechanics

The Trellis is a permanent farming structure that does not break or disappear after crops are harvested. You can reuse the same Trellis for multiple planting cycles. Trellises occupy a single tile, just like a standard farmland plot. Other trellis crops include Cucumber, Pepper, Tomato, Green Grape, Red Grape, Honeyvine, Star Plum, and Jadelume.

You can place sprinklers near Trellises to automate daily watering, which is strongly recommended for Cherry Tomato given its long regrowth cycle. Since the vine stays alive through two regrowth periods, sprinklers provide continuous value across all three harvests without any manual watering.

Seasonal Availability

Cherry Tomato grows in Spring and Autumn. Each season lasts 28 in-game days. With the 3 days 6 hours initial growth time, you can get your first harvest fairly quickly. However, the 9 days 18 hours regrowth time means the second harvest does not come until around day 13, and the third harvest around day 23 after planting. If you plant on day 1 of Spring, you can complete all three harvests within that season with a few days to spare.

Because Cherry Tomato grows in both Spring and Autumn (but not Summer), there is a gap during Summer where the crop cannot progress. If you plant late in Spring and the vine has not finished all its harvests by the end of the season, growth will stall through Summer and resume when Autumn begins. Keep this in mind when planning your planting schedule. Starting early in the season is essential to completing the full three-harvest cycle.

If you are nearing the end of a season and cannot complete the full regrowth cycle, it may still be worth planting for the first harvest alone. Cherry Tomato Jam is produced at the Jam Maker using 2 Cherry Tomatoes and 3 Sugar. Like Tomato Ketchup, Cherry Tomato Jam is classified as a savory condiment rather than a sweet preserve. Each batch takes roughly half an in-game day to process. Sugar is obtained by processing Sugarcane or Beetroot at the Separator. Building multiple Jam Makers and running them simultaneously is the most efficient way to convert large Cherry Tomato harvests into higher-value products.

Processing Cherry Tomato at the Separator yields Fruit Pulp, one of the most commonly required cooking ingredients in the game. If you have a surplus of Cherry Tomatoes and need Fruit Pulp for dessert or pastry recipes, this is a practical way to put extra harvests to use.

Gifting Preferences

Cherry Tomato shares the same gifting preferences as regular Tomato. Giving a Cherry Tomato to a character who loves it provides a significant boost to your friendship level. Below are the known preferences.

Since Graminova loves Cherry Tomatoes and she is the Farming profession mentor, gifting her Cherry Tomatoes is a convenient way to raise friendship while you are already visiting the Happiness Seed Shop to buy seeds. Marston and Sagewood are also easy to find in town, making them good gifting targets as you go about your daily routine.

Comparison with Tomato

Cherry Tomato is often compared to the regular Tomato since both are trellis crops that grow during overlapping seasons. The table below shows how they compare side by side.

Cherry Tomato produces more than double the net profit per seed compared to Tomato (594g vs 262g). However, the full growth cycle is much longer (22 days 18 hours vs 7 days 12 hours), meaning Tomato generates profit faster on a per-day basis. Tomato also unlocks earlier at Junior Farmer and grows during Summer, which Cherry Tomato does not.

The choice between the two depends on your priorities. If you want quick turnover and Summer availability, stick with Tomato. If you want maximum total profit per seed and are willing to wait through the long regrowth periods, Cherry Tomato is the better investment. Everlasting Cherry Tomato Seeds

Like all crops in Starsand Island, Cherry Tomato has an Everlasting variant. Everlasting Cherry Tomato Seeds produce a vine that does not become spent after the third harvest. Instead, the crop continues regrowing and producing Cherry Tomatoes indefinitely, eliminating the need to buy new seeds and replant. Everlasting crops also ignore season restrictions, meaning an Everlasting Cherry Tomato vine will grow year-round, including during Summer and Winter.

There are several ways to obtain Everlasting Cherry Tomato Seeds:

• Islandpedia Rewards: Completing certain entries in the Plants section of the Islandpedia may reward you with Everlasting Seeds for specific crops.

• Eternal Blessings Skill: The Senior Farmer tier unlocks the Eternal Blessings skill, which gives a chance of receiving an Everlasting Seed when harvesting any regular crop. The higher your farming proficiency, the better the odds.

• Creamy Seeds Buff: Eating Mirthshroom Soup (recipe found in a Moonlit Forest chest) grants a temporary buff that increases the chance of dropping Everlasting Seeds when harvesting. Combine this with the Eternal Blessings skill for the best results.

• Random Harvest Drops: Occasionally, harvesting a normal Cherry Tomato vine will yield an Everlasting Cherry Tomato Seed alongside the regular Cherry Tomatoes.

Everlasting Seeds are safe to relocate. If you remove an Everlasting crop from a Trellis, the seed returns to your inventory so you can replant it elsewhere without losing your investment. Over time, building up a collection of Everlasting Cherry Tomato Seeds lets you maintain a permanent Cherry Tomato field that produces fruit every 9 days 18 hours without any ongoing seed costs. Since Everlasting crops are not restricted by season, this is especially powerful for Cherry Tomato, which normally cannot grow during Summer or Winter.

Tips

• Plant on day 1 of the season: Starting early gives you the best chance of completing all three harvests within a single season. A Cherry Tomato vine planted on the first day of Spring can finish its third harvest around day 23, leaving a few days of margin.

• Use sprinklers on your Trellises: Cherry Tomato's long regrowth cycle means the vine stays planted for weeks. Sprinklers save significant time and stamina on larger farms by automating daily watering across the entire growth period.

• Pair with Tomato for full coverage: Cherry Tomato covers Spring and Autumn, while Tomato covers Spring and Summer. Growing both ensures you have trellis crops producing fruit across three of the four seasons.

• Use Ripening Fertilizer to speed up growth: Applying Ripening Fertilizer III (Intermediate tier, skips 25 hours of growth) can shave more than a full day off the initial growth time, helping you reach your first harvest sooner.

• Gift Cherry Tomatoes to Graminova: She loves them, and you are already visiting her shop for seeds. Raising her friendship level unlocks additional rewards and dialogue.

• Process surplus into Cherry Tomato Jam: If you have more Cherry Tomatoes than you can sell, convert them into jam at the Jam Maker. Jams sell for significantly more than raw fruit, especially when sold through the Merchant Ship at double value.

• Place Bumblebee hives nearby: Bumblebees placed in beehives near your Trellises boost crop growth speed significantly. This can reduce the long regrowth period and help you squeeze more harvests into a single season.
