Overview
Glowing Stone is a special material in Pokemon Pokopia found inside cave environments across all regions. These luminescent rocks emit a soft glow and are used in crafting recipes that involve light or energy.
Where to Find
Glowing Stones can be found embedded in cave walls and floors in all five regions. They are more common in deeper cave sections. Break them with Rock Smash to collect. They are visually distinct from regular stone due to their faint glow.
Uses
Recipe | Glowing Stone Required | Other Materials |
|---|---|---|
Fireworks | 1 | Pokemetal x1, Sturdy Stick x1, Paint x1 |
Glowing Lamp | 2 | Iron Ingot x1 |
Crystal Light | 3 | Crystal Fragment x2, Glass x1 |
How to Break Glowing Stone
Regular Rock Smash is not strong enough to break Glowing Stone deposits. You need the powered-up Rock Smash, which is unlocked by eating a Hamburger Steak. Cook a Hamburger Steak using a frying pan and beans, eat the dish, and your Rock Smash will be temporarily enhanced. While the power-up is active, approach any Glowing Stone deposit in a cave and use Rock Smash to shatter it and collect the material.
You can also obtain Glowing Stone passively by assigning a Pokemon with the Crush specialty to work at a mining site. Crush-specialty Pokemon will periodically produce Glowing Stone alongside other mined materials, though this is slower than manual farming.
Farming Glowing Stone
The most efficient place to farm Glowing Stone is the Rocky Ridges volcano region, specifically in the deeper mine tunnels. The concentration of Glowing Stone deposits increases the further you push into the underground sections of the mines. This is the primary farming location and where most players gather the bulk of their supply.
Best Farming Route
The fastest farming method involves a loop between two locations in Rocky Ridges:
Rocky Ridges deep mine tunnels: Enter the mines and push into the deeper underground sections. Clear all the Glowing Stone deposits you find along the walls and floors.
Gimmighoul's area: After clearing the mines, head to the outer Rocky Ridges area near where Gimmighoul is located. There are additional Glowing Stone nodes scattered around this area that are easy to miss if you only farm inside the mines.
Leave and return: Once both spots are cleared, leave the area entirely and then come back. The resource deposits respawn after you exit and re-enter the zone, letting you repeat the loop as many times as needed.
Recommended Pokemon
Transforming into Graveler is highly recommended when farming Glowing Stone. Graveler's rock-breaking strength allows you to clear deposits and obstacles significantly faster than using your base character. This cuts down the time per farming loop and makes gathering large quantities much more practical.
Endgame Importance
Glowing Stone becomes a critical resource during the late game. Several of the finale objectives require crafted items that consume Glowing Stone, and the Concert Stage building kit alone requires 10 Glowing Stones. Combined with the Crystal Light and other late-game recipes, you will need a substantial stockpile to complete endgame content.
Players approaching the finale should begin farming Glowing Stone well in advance. The respawn-based loop at Rocky Ridges is repeatable, but each run only yields a handful of stones, so building up a reserve of 20 to 30 takes multiple trips. Starting your stockpile before you reach the final chapter saves time and prevents a bottleneck at the end of the game.
Tips
Glowing Stones are distinct from Glowing Mushrooms. Both are found in caves but have different uses.
The powered-up Rock Smash (from eating a Hamburger Steak) can break through harder cave walls that sometimes hide additional Glowing Stone deposits.
The best farming spot is the deeper mine tunnels in Rocky Ridges. Combine this with the area near Gimmighoul for maximum yield per trip.
Transform into Graveler before mining to break rocks faster and speed up your farming runs.
Resource deposits respawn after you leave the area and return, so you can repeat the farming loop as many times as needed.
Start stockpiling Glowing Stone before you reach the endgame. Several finale objectives and building kits require large quantities.
Assigning a Crush-specialty Pokemon to a mining site provides a slow but passive source of Glowing Stone while you focus on other tasks.
