Overview
Dolls are collectible plushie items in Pokemon Pokopia used to access Dream Islands via Drifloon. There are 7 types of Dolls, each corresponding to a specific Dream Island destination. Five dolls lead to fixed island types matching the game's story regions, while the Ditto Doll and Substitute Doll lead to randomly selected islands. Dolls are reusable and are not consumed when used. Once collected, you can present the same doll to Drifloon repeatedly on different days.
How Dolls Work
To use a Doll:
Befriend Drifloon in Withered Wasteland by building the "Riding Warm Updrafts" habitat (3 campfires placed side by side, lit by Charmander)
Place a Doll on the ground outside or have it in your inventory
Talk to Drifloon and select "I want to go to an island"
Drifloon carries you to the Dream Island that corresponds to the doll you offered

Where to Find Dolls
Fixed Locations
Doll | Location |
|---|---|
Eevee Doll | Purchasable from the Pokemon Center PC Shop. Also found in an abandoned house on the northwest island of Bleak Beach. |
Pikachu Doll | Inside an abandoned hut near the start of Bleak Beach (down the stairs, building on the right). |
Substitute Doll | Given by Drifloon in Withered Wasteland when you first befriend it. |
Random Locations
The remaining dolls (Clefairy, Arcanine, Dragonite, Ditto) are found in glowing treasure blocks scattered across all regions. Use Rock Smash to break these blocks. The Dowsing Machine with a Search specialty Pokemon helps locate buried blocks more reliably. Treasure blocks refresh daily, so check back regularly.
Legendary Encounters on Dream Islands
Several legendary Pokemon can be encountered as roaming spawns on specific Dream Island types. These encounters are chance-based, not guaranteed. You may need to visit the correct Dream Island multiple times.
Legendary | Doll / Dream Island | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Raikou | Pikachu Doll (Ocean Dream Island) | Electric-type beast. First encountered in Bleak Beach story. |
Entei | Arcanine Doll (Volcanic Dream Island) | Fire-type beast. Also reported on Ditto Doll islands. |
Suicune | Eevee Doll (Wasteland Dream Island) | Water-type beast. Also reported with Substitute Doll. |
Mewtwo | Dragonite Doll (Sky Dream Island) | Re-encounter after the Sparkling Skylands story. Can be befriended here. |
Legendary Pokemon appear in small rooms with walls that look different from the surrounding materials. Bring a Pokemon with the Search specialty to help locate them more efficiently.
Stardust and Star Pieces
Dream Islands are the only source of Stardust in the game. Stardust appears as sparkly pink mounds on beaches and inside caves on any Dream Island type. It is available on all island types, not limited to a specific one.
99 Stardust crafts one Star Piece. Star Pieces are the key item for the multiplayer Pokemon sharing system: when you encounter a Pokemon species that another player has but you do not, gift a Star Piece to that Pokemon. It gives you a special gift in return, and opening that gift at an empty habitat in your world causes a Pokemon of the same species to appear and move in.
Daily Rules
Rule | Details |
|---|---|
One island type per day | You can only visit one type of Dream Island per calendar day. The daily reset occurs at 5:00 AM local time. |
Multiple visits allowed | You can revisit the same island as many times as you want on the same day, but gathered materials do not respawn until the next day. |
No home inventory access | Your home storage is not accessible on Dream Islands. Bring food and tools beforehand. |
Random layouts | Dream Island terrain is randomly generated each visit (layout changes every time). |
Additional Dream Island Loot
Beyond the primary materials listed in the doll table, Dream Islands contain:
Poke Balls containing recipes, items, and habitat clues for undiscovered Pokemon
Music CDs for DJ Rotom
Berries and Copper Ore
Furniture and decorative items
Human Records (lore notebooks about Pokopia's history)
Habitat traces for Pokemon you have not yet discovered
Tips
Collect the Pikachu Doll early from the hut at the start of Bleak Beach. It is easy to overlook and gives access to the Ocean Dream Island where Raikou can be re-encountered.
Use the Dowsing Machine with a Search specialty Pokemon to find dolls in buried treasure blocks.
Visit Dream Islands daily to build up Stardust reserves. Crafting a single Star Piece takes 99 Stardust, so consistency is key.
Volcanic Dream Islands (Arcanine Doll) are the best source of Iron Ore and Gold Ore for late-game crafting.
Sky Dream Islands (Dragonite Doll) provide Crystal Fragments and Pokemetal Fragments for high-tier recipes.
Break every glowing block on Dream Islands. In addition to main materials, you can find CDs, Stardust, and additional dolls.
You can encounter Drifloon on a friend's Cloud Island, which operates independently from your own Drifloon. This allows a second Dream Island trip on the same day.
When your inventory fills up on a Dream Island, take reference photos of items. You can duplicate them later using the 3D Printer at any Pokemon Center.
