Overview
The Sword of the Lord is a one-handed sword in Crimson Desert that stands out from other early-game swords thanks to its built-in Wind Slash Abyss Core. With an Attack rating of 13 and Attack Speed Lv. 2, it swings faster than most swords in its tier and provides additional uses of the Wind Slash skill, a ranged cutting attack that extends the sword's effective reach beyond standard melee distance.
The pre-installed core makes this weapon immediately more versatile than comparable swords. Most weapons in the early game come with empty core slots, requiring players to find and socket their own Abyss Cores. The Sword of the Lord bypasses that step for at least one slot, giving it a functional advantage the moment you pick it up.

Wind Slash Abyss Core
The Sword of the Lord comes with a Wind Slash core already socketed in its first Abyss Core slot. Wind Slash is a melee-type Abyss Core that activates with R1 after a specific motion during combat. When triggered, it sends out a cutting projectile that deals damage at a short-to-medium range, letting you hit enemies that are just outside normal sword reach.
The Sword of the Lord specifically grants additional uses of Wind Slash compared to socketing the same core into a different weapon. This means you can fire off more Wind Slash projectiles before the ability needs to recharge, making it particularly effective for keeping pressure on enemies who try to create distance.
Abyss Cores can be equipped and removed through the witches found in each region. If you prefer a different core in that slot, you can swap Wind Slash out and replace it with something else without losing the core.
How to Obtain
Specific acquisition details for the Sword of the Lord are still being documented. Based on its stats and the presence of a pre-installed core, it is likely obtained through a quest reward, a treasure chest in a mid-game area, or as a drop from a specific enemy encounter. Combat Notes
Attack Speed Lv. 2 is the highest innate speed bonus among one-handed swords currently documented. This puts the Sword of the Lord's swing speed closer to rapier territory while retaining the sword's broader slash arcs and higher stagger potential per hit. The speed difference is noticeable during combo chains, where the recovery between swings is short enough to maintain relentless pressure.
The two remaining open core slots offer room for further customization. A popular setup is pairing the built-in Wind Slash with cores that boost critical hit chance and elemental damage. This creates a versatile weapon that can handle both close-range combo fights and medium-range poke situations where Wind Slash fills the gap.
For Kliff players running a sword-and-shield build, the Sword of the Lord's speed makes parry follow-ups more forgiving. The fast recovery lets you land a counter-slash even in tight parry windows where slower swords would miss the opening.
Refinement
The Sword of the Lord supports refinement up to level 10 at any Blacksmith. Each refinement tier raises the base Attack beyond its starting value of 13. Given the weapon's strong secondary bonuses (Attack Speed Lv. 2 and Wind Slash), investing in refinement makes it a viable main-hand weapon well into the mid-game and beyond.
