Goldleaf Merchant Guild Quests
Complete walkthrough for the Goldleaf Merchant Guild faction quest line in Crimson Desert, including Troubled Shakatu, Extinguishing the Last Flames, and Close Threat.

The Goldleaf Merchant Guild is a goblin-run trading organization that operates across the Hernand region. Their main base is the Goldleaf Guildhouse, located southeast of the City of Hernand. The guild's faction quest line centers on helping Shakatu, the guild leader, root out corruption and betrayal within the organization. Completing these quests earns Hernand Contribution XP and unique reward items, including the Hernandian Banquet Cloak and the Kinetic Art: Counterweight skill.

The quest chain becomes available after Chapter 2 of the main story, once Shakatu has taken control of the guild. To begin, travel to the Goldleaf Guildhouse and speak with Shakatu directly.

Travel to the Goldleaf Guildhouse southeast of Hernand. Shakatu can be found sitting on the white chair inside, speaking with two other NPCs. Talk to him to learn about the guild's problems: bandits keep hitting their trade routes, and he suspects an insider is feeding them information. Follow Shakatu toward the metal cages for a short cutscene that concludes this introductory step.

This is the core investigation quest. You receive an item called the Investigative Log: Extinguish the Flames in your inventory. Reading it reveals the names of five guild members you must visit. At each location, you need to speak with the NPC and examine three pieces of evidence hidden nearby. The evidence items glow faintly and can be interacted with when you stand close enough.
Location: Goldleaf Guildhouse. Nogle is the man in green clothes with a yellow exclamation mark over his head. After speaking with him, examine the following items:


Tavern Ledger: Found in the wooden drawer on the left side of the NPC.
Broken Barrel: A fallen barrel near the brown pots to the side.
Fee Notice: Sitting on the wooden shelf that contains pots.
Location: Goldleaf Tradepost, northwest of the Nas River. Skrav is another man dressed in green. After your conversation, look for:
Stacked Trade Goods: West of the NPC.
Trade Schedule Log: On a wooden crate behind the shop area.
Dropped Lantern: In the center of the tradepost, near two NPCs standing beside an armor suit.
Location: Unicorn Cliff tent settlement. Kathan wears a yellow cape and red vest. He reveals that Grimzle's ledger was stolen. Evidence to find:
Damaged Wagon: West of the settlement.
Guard's Letter: Inside a wooden crate among the stacked crates.
Guard's Report: On a wooden box inside a small tent.
Location: Bloomwood Ranch, north of the Nas River. Blique is sitting on a chair behind a picnic table. He mentions that masked men came asking for horses. Evidence:

Feed Purchase Receipt: Inside the house, in a wooden box behind the door.
Old Saddle: On the floor near the wooden double doors.
Horse Hire Ledger: On the table near the bed and treasure chest.
Location: Coalvale Workshop, east of Unicorn Cliff. Grimzle wears a red hat. This is the final NPC to investigate. Evidence:
Merchant Delivery Seal: Inside the house, on a round wooden table.
Proof of Stay: In the stablehouse, on the table near a candle.
Empty Ledger Cover: Inside the house, on a rectangular wooden table west of the round table.

After gathering all fifteen pieces of evidence from the five NPCs, return to Shakatu at the Goldleaf Guildhouse. Submit your findings. The correct conclusion is that Grimzle is the traitor. If you submit incorrect evidence, you can retry without penalty.
Once Shakatu confirms your deduction, travel to the Coalvale Workshop to confront Grimzle. A cutscene plays, and Grimzle attempts to flee. Strike him once to knock him down and force a confession. Bind him, place him on your horse, and transport him back to the Goldleaf Guildhouse. Surrender Grimzle to Shakatu to complete the quest chain.

The Hernandian Banquet Cloak is a strong cloak for the mid-game. It is worth completing this quest line as early as possible once it becomes available.
Each evidence location has a faint glow effect. If you are struggling to find an item, use first-person view to scan tables and shelves at close range.
When transporting Grimzle back on horseback, avoid combat encounters. If you are knocked off your horse during a fight, Grimzle may fall and you will need to pick him up again.
The quest chain contributes toward your overall Faction Reputation with the Goldleaf Merchant Guild, moving you toward Friendly standing.
