Walkthrough
Step 1: Reach the Hot Springs
Head west from the Pokemon Center in Rocky Ridges. Use Rock Smash to break the rocks blocking the path to the hot springs cave. Inside, you will find a natural hot spring surrounded by mossy surfaces.
Step 2: Create the Mossy Hot Spring Habitat
Use your Powered-Up Leafage move near the edge of the hot spring water to pull out four patches of Moss. Arrange them around the mossy tiles near the water to form a Mossy Hot Spring habitat. A notification will confirm the habitat has been created, and Torkoal will appear shortly after.
Step 3: Speak with Torkoal
Talk to Torkoal once it arrives at the hot spring. Torkoal agrees to help you build a Bread Oven but explains that it cannot navigate the rough terrain between the hot springs and the Pokemon Center on its own. You need to create a clear, safe path.
Step 4: Build a Pathway with Stairs
Craft wooden stairs at your workbench and place them along the route from the hot springs back to the Pokemon Center. Torkoal moves slowly and cannot climb steep surfaces, so stairs are essential at every elevation change. Use Water Gun on any tough dirt patches along the way to soften them and make the path easier for Torkoal to traverse.
Step 5: Guide Torkoal to the Pokemon Center
Once the path is ready, speak to Torkoal again to begin the escort. Torkoal will start walking along the path you built. Walk alongside it and check on it periodically. If Torkoal stops moving and appears fatigued, talk to it again to encourage it to continue.
Step 6: Receive the Bread Oven Recipe
When Torkoal reaches the front of the Pokemon Center, speak to it one more time. Torkoal rewards you with the Bread Oven crafting recipe. You can now build a Bread Oven to bake bread, which powers up the Cut move.

Tips
Build all the stairs before starting the escort. Torkoal will get stuck at any elevation change without stairs.
Use Water Gun on hard dirt to soften the ground before Torkoal walks over it.
If Torkoal stops, it has not despawned. Simply talk to it to get it moving again.
You need Powered-Up Leafage from the Make a Salad request to pull Moss from the cave floor. Complete that request first if you have not already.
