Overview

inZOI has a variety of careers beyond traditional office and service work. Two of the more distinctive options are Esports and Football careers. Each has its own city, organization, and progression track. Jobs are accessed through the Career app on the Smartphone. Both are classified as Rabbit Hole jobs, meaning your Zoi disappears into a taxi, heads off-site, and returns when the shift ends. You cannot directly control a Zoi during a Rabbit Hole shift, but pop-up work events will appear periodically, giving you brief windows to make choices that influence performance and mood.

Career Organizations

The Esports career is tied to DG Esports in Dowon, while the Football career is tied to Bliss Bay Nautilus in Bliss Bay. Both careers share the same pay scale (264 to 1,998 Meow per shift), have three promotion ranks, and operate on a Tuesday through Thursday schedule. Despite these similarities, they differ in shift length, relevant skills, and the amount of free time they leave your Zoi each day.

Job Types: Active vs Rabbit Hole

Before looking at individual careers, it is important to understand the two job types in inZOI:

Both Esports and Football fall into the Rabbit Hole category. A Briefcase icon appears next to the job listing in the Career app and beside your Zoi's portrait in the Family List while they are at work. When the shift starts, your Zoi boards a taxi automatically and heads to a location off the playable map. You regain control once the shift ends and the Zoi returns home. The key difference from Active Jobs is that promotions take longer in Rabbit Hole careers because you cannot directly complete visible task checklists. Instead, progression depends on attendance, your Zoi's condition, and how you respond to random work events.

Work Event Choices

During any Rabbit Hole shift, your Zoi will occasionally trigger a work event. A pop-up notification describes a brief scenario, and you have 30 seconds to select a response before the timer expires. If the timer runs out without a selection, the game picks a default outcome, which is usually neutral or slightly negative.

Work events cover a range of situations. In the Esports career, you might be asked whether to console a struggling teammate or push harder to carry the match yourself. In the Football career, a pop-up might involve choosing between a risky offensive play or a safe defensive approach. Each choice can affect your Zoi's mood, energy level, and overall shift performance. Positive outcomes from these events contribute to filling the promotion meter, while negative outcomes can stall progress or leave your Zoi in a bad emotional state for the rest of the day.

Event Strategy

There is no way to predict which events will appear, and the options presented are randomized each time. The best strategy is to keep your Zoi in a positive mental state before the shift so they can handle whatever comes up. Over many shifts, making consistently good choices adds up and accelerates promotion progress.

Esports Career

The Esports career is located at DG Esports in Dowon. It is a Rabbit Hole job, meaning your Zoi enters the DG Esports facility and you receive occasional event prompts during the shift.

How to Join the Esports Career

1. Open the Smartphone by pressing P on the keyboard.

2. Navigate to the Careers app.

3. Browse the available positions and find DG Esports under Dowon listings.

4. Select the Amateur Gamer position and tap Apply.

The Esports career is only available in Dowon. If your Zoi lives in Bliss Bay, this listing will not appear. No prior experience or education is required to apply. Your Zoi must be at least a Young Adult and cannot have aged past the Middle-Aged stage. Teenagers are too young to work in any career. Your Zoi also cannot hold another job simultaneously; you must quit any existing position before applying.

Esports Promotion Mechanics

Getting promoted from Amateur Gamer to Pro Gamer is relatively straightforward. According to player reports, you need to complete approximately 6 full work days without missing a single shift. Since the Esports career runs three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), that works out to about two in-game weeks of consistent attendance.

Advancing from Pro Gamer to Legendary Gamer takes longer. Expect roughly 8 to 10 working days, or about three in-game weeks, of solid attendance and positive shift performance. During early access, some players reported that the Legendary Gamer promotion meter did not always track correctly. This issue has been addressed in subsequent updates, but if the promotion bar appears stuck, double-check that your Zoi arrives on time, stays for the full shift, and has all needs fulfilled before leaving home.

Performance Tracking

The promotion meter fills gradually across multiple shifts. Unlike Active Jobs where completing visible tasks directly feeds the bar, Rabbit Hole careers rely on hidden performance calculations based on attendance, Zoi condition, skill level, and work event responses.

Building the Programming Skill

The Programming skill directly improves Esports career performance and promotion speed. While not strictly required to join, reaching Level 10 Programming before starting significantly reduces the time needed for promotions. There are several ways to build this skill:

Focus on leveling Programming during the four off-days each week (Friday through Monday) when your Zoi is not working. A Zoi with max Programming walks into each shift with a significant hidden performance bonus.

Recommended Traits for Esports

Each Zoi gets one trait during character creation that cannot be changed afterward. For the Esports career, the following traits pair well:

Football Career

The Football career is located at Bliss Bay Nautilus in Bliss Bay. Like Esports, it is a Rabbit Hole job. The Football Player positions are classified as off-site, meaning there is no physical stadium building on the Bliss Bay map. Your Zoi boards a taxi, travels to an off-map location, and returns once the shift concludes.

Career Details

Football has the shortest shift duration of the competitive careers, ending at 3:00 PM instead of 6:00 PM or later. This leaves the entire afternoon and evening free for other activities, training, socializing, or pursuing a second income source.

How to Join the Football Career

1. Open the Smartphone and navigate to the Careers app.

2. Browse the available positions under Bliss Bay listings.

3. Select the Backup Player position at Bliss Bay Nautilus and tap Apply.

The Football career is only available in Bliss Bay. Zois living in Dowon cannot see this listing. No prior experience, education, or skills are required to apply, though having a strong Fitness skill before starting helps with early performance. Young Adult, Adult, and Middle-Aged Zois are eligible. As with all careers, your Zoi cannot hold another job simultaneously.

Football Promotion Mechanics

Like all Rabbit Hole careers, Football promotions are driven primarily by consistent attendance and your Zoi's overall condition when arriving at work. There are no visible task checklists. For off-site roles, tasks appear in the family panel and lack time restrictions. Each completed task adds to the promotion meter. The key factors are:

The promotion meter fills gradually across multiple shifts. Expect roughly a week or longer of in-game time between promotions. Rabbit Hole careers advance slower than Active careers where completing visible tasks directly feeds the promotion bar. The jump from Backup Player to Starting Player typically takes around 6 to 8 working days, while reaching All-Star status may require 8 to 10 working days of consistent high performance.

Building Fitness and Cooking Skills

Two skills matter for the Football career. Fitness is the primary performance driver, while Cooking supports it by keeping your Zoi's physical needs topped off with nutritious meals.

Fitness can be built through several activities:

• Using treadmills and gym equipment at home or at a public gym

• Jogging or running around the neighborhood

• Playing basketball, volleyball, or other sports at community courts

• Swimming at public pools or the beach

Cooking is built by:

• Preparing meals at home using the kitchen stove and counters

• Experimenting with new recipes as your skill level increases

• Reading cooking books at home or at the library

Dedicate the four off-days each week (Friday through Monday) to training. A morning jog followed by a healthy home-cooked meal is an efficient routine that builds both skills in a single day.

Career Ranks

Both careers share a three-rank structure with significant salary jumps at each promotion. The schedule and work days remain the same across all ranks within each career.

The salary more than triples from Rank 1 (264 Meow) to Rank 2 (~864 Meow), and more than doubles again to Rank 3 (1,998 Meow). The jump from entry level to mid-tier is the single biggest salary increase in either career line.

Salary Analysis

The Football career stands out for its combination of high pay and short hours. At the All-Star rank, your Zoi earns 1,998 Meow per shift for just six hours of work (9 AM to 3 PM), three days per week. This translates to the highest Meow-per-hour rate among mainstream careers.

The Lawyer (Partner) holds the overall highest Meow-per-hour rate at 340. The Football All-Star comes in third at 333 Meow/hour, just behind the Professor at 320. Both Lawyer and Football benefit from a 6-hour shift that ends at 3 PM, giving your Zoi the entire afternoon and evening free.

While the Criminal Boss earns the highest total per shift (2,169 Meow), they work a full 9-hour day. Their Meow-per-hour rate of 241 is actually lower than both Football and Esports when adjusting for time worked. The Esports career, with its 9 AM to 6 PM schedule, delivers the same 1,998 Meow per shift as Football but at a lower hourly efficiency of 222 Meow/hour.

Maximizing Weekly Income

For players who want to maximize total weekly income regardless of hours, the Criminal career line leads with 6,507 Meow per week (2,169 x 3 shifts). However, for players who value free time for skills, relationships, or hobbies, Football's early finish makes it the optimal choice.

Daily Routine Suggestions

Managing your Zoi's schedule around work shifts is critical for maintaining high performance and steady promotion progress. Below are sample routines for work days and off days.

Esports Work Day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

Football Work Day (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

The Football career's 3 PM finish gives your Zoi roughly three extra hours per work day compared to Esports. Use this bonus time to train Fitness at a gym, cook quality meals for the Cooking skill boost, or handle social needs so your Zoi starts the next shift in peak condition.

Off Day Routine (Friday through Monday)

Off days are the best time to grind the relevant skill for your career:

Keeping all needs high on Monday night is especially important so your Zoi walks into Tuesday's shift in optimal condition.

Termination and Job Loss

Both careers enforce strict attendance rules. If your Zoi misses three shifts without an excused absence, they will be terminated from the position. Termination is immediate and cannot be reversed. Your Zoi will need to reapply from the lowest rank if they want to return to the same career. Leaving a shift early also counts negatively and can reset the promotion bar.

To avoid accidental absences, plan around your Zoi's schedule carefully. Set reminders if needed, and avoid sending your Zoi on long trips or social outings that might overlap with work hours. If your Zoi has extremely low needs on a work morning (exhausted, starving, or severely stressed), it may be worth addressing those first even if it means arriving a few minutes late, since arriving in terrible condition can produce worse results than a slight delay.

• If you want to play both careers across separate Zois, place one household in Dowon and another in Bliss Bay. Each career is city-locked and cannot be accessed from the other city.

• Use the Plesio Gaming Cafe on off days to level Programming for the Esports track. Your Zoi can also meet friends there, helping the Social need.

• Consider your Zoi's trait carefully during character creation. Scholar and Loner work well for Esports, while Active and Cheerful suit Football players.

• Monday night is the most important night of the week. Make sure your Zoi goes to bed early with full needs so they start Tuesday's shift at peak condition.
