Overview
inZOI: Island Getaway is a free DLC for inZOI, released on August 20, 2025. It adds an entirely new city called Cahaya (also referred to as Kucingku on the global map), along with farming, mining, gem crafting, fishing, resort activities, natural disasters, new vehicles, and dozens of new items. Because the DLC is free, all inZOI players receive the content automatically through the game update.
Cahaya
Cahaya is a tropical island city inspired by Indonesian tourist destinations and Southeast Asian beach resort culture. The name "Kucingku" means "My Cat" in Indonesian and Malay, a reference to the region's strong connection to cats (especially at the Miatara Temple). Cahaya features a warm climate year-round, crystal-clear waters, and a mix of rustic farmland and modern resort facilities.
The three islands
Cahaya consists of three distinct islands, each with its own purpose and activities:
Island | Primary Purpose | Key Features |
|---|---|---|
Main Island | Farming, gathering, fishing, commerce | Crop fields, Farm Store, mining spots, fishing docks, local shop (takeover available), residential areas |
Resort Island | Leisure and entertainment | Sri Lestari Resort, spa, swimming pools, arcade, bowling, billiards, event areas, villas |
Deserted Island | Exploration | Located between Main and Resort islands; uncharted terrain for discovery |
Farming
The farming system allows Zois to work the land on the Main Island. Players can plant and harvest a variety of crops, then sell the produce for profit.
Crops are planted in designated farm plots and grow over multiple in-game days.
Harvested crops can be sold at market stands or through the Resale Store.
Zois can take over a local shop on the Main Island to run their own agricultural business, selling food products directly to customers.
Natural disasters (floods in particular) can damage crops, adding a risk element to farming. Players must manage their fields carefully.
Mining and gem crafting
Mining Spots are scattered across Cahaya and can also be found in Dowon and Bliss Bay. Zois use pickaxes to extract minerals and gemstones from rocky or shiny formations. For a full breakdown of gemstones, tools, and the crafting table, see the Gem Crafting article.
Pickaxes are purchased at the Farm Store in Cahaya (Stone, Copper, Steel tiers) or crafted at the Crafting Table (Gold, Gem/Diamond tiers).
Mined raw gems can be refined at Crafting Tables into polished jewels, tools, or jewelry.
Mining develops the Gathering skill. A "Concentrated" mood improves rare gem drop rates.
Fishing
Fishing is available from both shore and boats throughout Cahaya. Zois need a fishing rod (purchasable from the Farm Store) to fish. Caught fish can be sold at the Resale Store or kept for cooking. Different locations and times of day yield different fish species.
Water activities
Cahaya's tropical setting opens up several water-based activities not available in other cities:
Swimming: available in resort pools and the open ocean around all three islands.
Snorkeling: explore coral reefs and encounter sea turtles and dolphins underwater.
Boat travel: 6 different boat types are available for rental, allowing Zois to navigate between islands and explore the coastline.
Sri Lestari Resort
The Sri Lestari Resort is the main hub on the Resort Island, offering luxury accommodations and entertainment.
Accommodations
Villa Type | Description |
|---|---|
Garden Villa | Ground-level villa surrounded by tropical gardens. |
Premier Ocean View Villa | Elevated villa with panoramic ocean views. |
Private Water Villa | Overwater bungalow built directly above the sea. |
Activities
The resort offers a wide range of activities. See the Spa and Wellness article for detailed coverage of massage, yoga, and sauna services.
Spa: massages, foot soaks, sauna (requires Spa Pass).
Arcade: exchange Meow for Resort Coins, play arcade machines.
Billiards: play pool games.
Bowling: indoor bowling lanes.
Basketball shot challenges: competitive shooting with optional betting.
Swimming pools: open resort pools.
Events
Lucky draws: lottery-style drawings for resort prizes.
Treasure hunts: follow clue trails around the resort to find hidden rewards.
Turtlebot races: robotic turtle racing events where Zois can spectate or bet.
Natural disasters
Cahaya introduces weather-based hazards that do not exist in other cities. These events occur randomly and affect gameplay:
Disaster | Effect |
|---|---|
Floods | Can damage crops, flood low-lying areas, and disrupt outdoor activities. |
Dust Storms | Reduce visibility and force Zois indoors during the event. |
Heatwaves | Increase Zoi discomfort and dehydration if they stay outdoors too long. |
New vehicles
The DLC adds new transportation options unique to the island environment:
Motorcycles: fast two-wheeled vehicles for getting around the Main Island.
Electric scooters: compact and efficient personal transport.
Boats: 6 types available for rental; used for inter-island travel, fishing from the water, and exploration.
New content
Beyond the gameplay systems, Island Getaway includes:
Over 90 additional music tracks added to the game's soundtrack.
New clothing items and hairstyles.
New home decor items themed around tropical and resort aesthetics.
New skills
Three new skills were introduced with the DLC:
Skill | Developed By |
|---|---|
Handiwork | Crafting at the Crafting Table, building tools, refining gems. |
Collecting | Logging items in the Family Collection, completing sets. |
Gathering | Mining, harvesting, and foraging resources in the wild. |
Selling and commerce
Zois can sell gathered and crafted goods through two main channels:
Market stands: set up a stall and sell directly to NPCs and other Zois.
Resale Store: sell fish, crops, and minerals at the Resale Store for a fixed price.
For players interested in running a full business, taking over the local shop on the Main Island provides a more involved commerce experience.
