Habitats of Idyll
October 24, 2026 at 12:24 PM
Expanded Chirpi-family branch requirements, regional encounters, complete skill access and practical Wind builds
Wild Aniimo do not appear evenly across Idyll. Every entry in the creature index carries a list of habitats, the named places that creature can turn up in, and those lists are the most precise map of the world the studio has published so far.
14 English habitat names appear across the 208 published entries. Six of them are the broad open-world regions the official world map names. The rest are finer locations inside or alongside them, and the index treats all of them the same way.
The official creature index was rebuilt for launch. As of September 27, 2026 it publishes 86 Basic Form entries numbered 001 to 082 plus 122 Form variants, 208 payloads in total, and most dex numbers moved by one or two places in the process. Three things moved with it. Mistwoods is now written The Mistwoods, with the article part of the tag. Blitzwood grew from 14 entries to 16 and Rosetower Woods from 11 to 14. And Crescent Bay no longer appears as an English habitat tag anywhere in the index: one creature, Shelly, carries two habitat strings that were left untranslated, one of which reads as Crescent Bay, and there is no published English name for the other. That is an absence from the index as it stands, not evidence that the place was removed from the game, and Crescent Bay is still named as a water region in official mid-2026 material. The per-habitat rosters below use the rebuilt index's dex numbers and role labels, checked on September 27, 2026, except the Crescent Bay roster, which records the habitat as it was published before launch.
A listed habitat is where to look, not a guarantee. Spawns shift with weather, time of day and local phenomena, and a creature’s Form moves it to an entirely different habitat list, so the same species can be found in two places depending on which version of it you are hunting. Catching is done with Aniipods.

Crescent Bay carried 11 index entries before the launch rebuild: 8 in their Basic Form and 3 as a Form variant, mostly Water and Rock. As of September 17, 2026 the name no longer appears as an English habitat tag anywhere in the index. One creature, Shelly, carries an untranslated habitat string that reads as Crescent Bay, and a second untranslated string with no published English name. The roster below is a record of the habitat as it was published during the 2026 beta period. Nothing official says the place was removed from the game, and it is still named as a water region in official mid-2026 material.

Three named places in Idyll carry no habitat entries in the creature index. Astra is the sky-floating hub city rather than hunting ground. The Lost Isles is the arena used by Egg Heist. The Whisperwake Isles is named by the studio as the home region of the creatures that sat at the end of the pre-launch index, which filed them under Crescent Bay instead, so the two names sit at different levels of detail rather than contradicting each other. Neither name carries an English habitat tag in the index as of September 17, 2026.
18 of the 86 entries have no habitat listed at all in their Basic Form. Nearly all are final-stage creatures, which fits: a creature at the end of an evolution line is raised rather than caught.
