Getting Scorchhowl forms
Form | Acquisition route | Where and when |

Highland | Evolve level 20 Highland Flameruff after defeating Alpha Scorchhowl, using 3 Blaze Stones | Complete the evolution in Russet Highlands. Its earlier forms occur there and in Zephyrus Landbridge. |
Mountain Woods | Evolve level 20 Mountain Woods Flameruff after defeating Alpha Scorchhowl, using 3 Blaze Stones | Complete the evolution in Beast Fang Ridge during daytime. |

Burn Breaker build
A practical burst build pairs Burn Breaker with a counterattack skill and uses Falling Star as its ultimate. Prioritize Attack, then REGEN to refill EP between charged attacks. BREAK is a useful third priority, followed by HP and the two defenses. ESFP is one suggested personality combination, with E and S favored before the defensive F and P choices.
Form | Two-skill example | Supporting team roles | Held item example |
|---|---|---|---|
Basic | Burn Breaker + Fire Kick | Inferlupa supplies breaking, a Fire support supplies buffs, and Somniwing supplies EP recovery. | Explosive Gloves |
Highland | Burn Breaker + Pebble Kick | Bailite supports Earth damage, a Fire support buffs the other attacks, and Somniwing supplies EP recovery. | Explosive Gloves |
Thunderstorm | Burn Breaker + Lightning Kick | Luminelle supports the Lightning attack, a Fire support buffs the burst, and Somniwing supplies EP recovery. | Explosive Gloves |
Prismana | Burn Breaker + Fire Kick | Inferlupa breaks the target, a Fire support supplies buffs, and Somniwing supplies EP recovery. | Ferocious Fang |
Mountain Woods | Burn Breaker + Fire Kick | Inferlupa provides breaking, a Fire support provides buffs, and Somniwing supplies EP recovery. | Explosive Gloves |
These are example role combinations. Flamerion can replace the EP-recovery slot in the Basic, Mountain Woods or Prismana setup when the team maintains Fire Debuff stacks. Squashel is another Fire breaker for the Basic setup. On Highland, Shrubclaw can replace Bailite to add a breaker with Earth resistance reduction; Inferlupa shifts that slot toward Fire. On Thunderstorm, Besauce adds EP recovery and Lightning resistance support, while Inferlupa provides a dedicated Fire breaker.
Burst rotation and counterattacks
Apply the team's damage buffs and resistance reductions first. If using a breaker, create the break window before switching to Scorchhowl. Refresh short support effects, enter with high EP and fully charge Burn Breaker. Use Falling Star as another burst option, then return to the regeneration slot to refill EP before repeating.
Burn Breaker gains damage from both charge duration and EP spent. Its listed cost is 30 EP, and each additional 10 EP consumed adds 30% extra damage. Full charge spends the remaining EP, so prepare the team's next recovery window before committing.
Use Fire Kick against an incoming strike to trigger its successful-dodge damage bonus and 20% damage buff for 20 seconds. Pebble Kick offers the corresponding Earth counterattack and the Lockdown effect listed in the skill table. Lightning Kick instead applies five seconds of Paralysis after a successful dodge. Select the kick that suits the encounter rather than assuming a form's listed option is the only one it can learn.
Explosive Gloves is an item option for high-EP charged bursts. A contract adds up to six meters of approach distance to fully charged Burn Breaker; prioritize it when closing that gap matters. The Prismana setup also has a Ferocious Fang recommendation. Check the held item's current effects and contract requirements before spending upgrade resources.
