Where To Find It
Popota is listed in 1 habitat. Which creatures actually appear also depends on weather, time of day, and local phenomena, so a listed habitat is where to look rather than a guarantee.

Trait
Every Aniimo carries a passive Trait that is always active while it fights alongside a Pathfinder.
Trait | Effect |
|---|---|
Appeal | When entering battle, if the team has an opposite-sex Susuta family member, increases own BREAK efficiency by 30% for 15s. Cooldown: 20s. |
Traversal
The index grades three traversal capabilities, Climb, Fly and Swim, from level 1 to level 3. A Pathfinder inherits them by Twining with the creature, so Popota is worth keeping for how it gets you across the map as well as for what it does in a fight.
Capability | Grade |
|---|---|
Swim | Level 1 |
Skills
Popota brings 2 combat skills and 1 innate skill into a fight. Power is the skill's published damage figure and Cost is what it draws from the resource bar.
Skill | Type | Power | Cost | Effect |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Water Cannon | Combat | 65 | 20 | Jumps up and hurls a huge water ball at the target, dealing AoE damage and creating a puddle. |
Water Dash | Combat | 74 | 20 | Dashes at the target, dealing damage and knocking them back. |
ATK | Innate | 6 | 0 | (BREAK) Wields the power of water to attack targets at close range. |
Encounter routes
Form | Route |
|---|---|
Basic | Search western Echoback Landing beaches during day or night; an Echoback Landing Wild Surge is another chance-based route. |
Nighttime | Search Echoback Landing at night, including the shore near Alpha Panpanta, or evolve Nighttime Susuta at level 29 during the night. |
Search landmarks
Area or condition | Search cue |
|---|---|
Beachside Sandbars | Look along the shore southeast of the sandbars, among the Susuta. |
Alpha Panpanta: south | Inspect the mixed group just south of the Alpha. |
Alpha Panpanta: southeast | Follow the southeastern shoreline. |
Nighttime beach groups | Look for a sleeping Popota beside Susuta. |
Echoback Landing Bloom: west | Check the shore of the islet across from the Bloom during either day or night. |
Nighttime form | Search the shores near Alpha Panpanta at night. Leave and return later if needed. |
Choosing an evolution branch
Starting form | Result | Level | Materials | Unlock and conditions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Basic Popota | Basic Piopiota | 39 | 3 Wave Stones | Attract an opposite-gender Susuta to follow while Twined as Popota. |
Basic Popota | Basic Panpanta | 39 | 3 Wave Stones | Defeat Alpha Panpanta to unlock the branch. |
Nighttime Popota | Nighttime Piopiota | 39 | Wave Stones; confirm the required quantity in the Evolution menu. | At night, attract an opposite-gender Susuta to follow. Personality must contain both Energetic and Playful. |
Nighttime Popota | Nighttime Panpanta | 39 | 3 Wave Stones | Defeat Alpha Panpanta, evolve at night, and have both Instinctive and Judicious in the personality. |
For Piopiota, Twine as the appropriate Popota and approach Susuta on the Echoback beaches.
Find an opposite-gender Susuta. Its pink appearance and following behavior indicate attraction.
Open Evolution after the follower interaction unlocks the branch. Meet the level, material and any Nighttime personality/time requirements before confirming.
The Panpanta branch instead requires defeating Alpha Panpanta. The Nighttime branch also needs both Instinctive and Judicious in its personality; having only one is insufficient.
Battle and Homeland use
Both Popota forms provide Water Cannon and Water Dash. Water Cannon supplies a puddle, while Water Dash knocks back a hit target. Appeal uses the same opposite-sex Susuta-family party condition shown in the existing trait table.
