Overview

The continent of Pywel is home to a rich ecosystem of wildlife spanning land animals, birds, fish, insects, and even mysterious supernatural creatures. Players can interact with these lifeforms through hunting, fishing, and the pet system. Many animals yield resources such as meat, pelts, bones, and rare crafting materials. Different regions host different species, and some creatures appear only at certain times of day. The five major regions of Pywel (Hernand, Demeniss, Pailune, the southern lowlands, and the Crimson Desert) each support distinct populations of wildlife adapted to the local climate and terrain.

Land Animals

Dogs

Dogs are found throughout the settlements and wilds of Pywel. Many breeds can be tamed as pets through the trust system.

Cats

Cats are common in towns and certain wilderness areas. Both species can be tamed as pets.

Sheep and Goats

Predators

Aquatic Life

Pywel's rivers, lakes, and coastal waters teem with fish and aquatic creatures. The fishing life skill allows players to catch these species using rods purchased from vendors like Finley at the Fishing Shop in Hernand. Different water bodies contain different species, and some rare fish are key ingredients for powerful cooking recipes.

The Mysterious Cabin is home to a collection of unusual creatures that do not fit neatly into any natural category. These heteromorphs and magical beings are rare and possess unique properties. Some can be befriended and kept as companions through the pet system, while others serve as guardians of the natural world.
