Overview
The Pororin Cat is a cat breed that can be registered as a pet in Crimson Desert. Named after the Pororin Forest region where the Shai children reside, this breed has a more domesticated, gentle appearance compared to the wilder Longleaf Forest Cat. Like all pets, the Pororin Cat can be found roaming settlements across Pywel, particularly in larger cities.
Appearance
The Pororin Cat has a soft, rounded face with large eyes and a plush coat. Its smaller build and gentle features reflect its domesticated nature. The breed's association with the Pororin Forest and its Shai inhabitants suggests it may have been bred or cared for by the Shai community, known for their close relationship with nature.
Connection to Pororin Forest
The Pororin Forest region is home to a Shai settlement where a pet shop operated by Milou sells pet cosmetics and equipment. The Pororin Cat's name connects it directly to this region. Players who have unlocked access to Pororin Forest Village (through the Unreachable Village quest) can purchase pet gear there.
How to Tame
To register a Pororin Cat as your companion, you must reach 100 trust with the animal. Trust is built through two main interactions: petting and feeding.
Petting: +5 trust per interaction, up to 5 times per in-game day (25 trust maximum from petting alone). To pet a cat, you must first pick it up by holding the carry prompt, then press the pet button while holding it.
Feeding: Up to 3 feeds per in-game day. Cats prefer bird meat, fish, and milk. Each food type grants +10 trust per feeding.
Cat food items can be obtained through hunting birds, fishing, or purchasing milk from vendors. Once trust reaches 100, set the animal down and hold Square (PlayStation) or E (PC) to select the "Take in" prompt. The animal is then permanently registered as your pet. First Pet Opportunity
A cat companion can sometimes be acquired during city festivities tied to the main quest. The Fang Without a Master faction quest also features pet acquisition. Cats are slightly harder to tame than dogs because their food only grants +10 trust per feeding compared to +35 for dogs.
Pet Benefits
Once registered, the Pororin Cat follows you while exploring Pywel. Pets assist in combat by automatically looting items from defeated enemies, saving time during extended fights and dungeon runs. Your pet is a permanent companion and will stay by your side throughout the game. Only one pet can be active at a time, but you can switch between registered pets through the Inventory menu.
Pet Care
Pets can sustain injuries during combat encounters. An injured pet cannot run and will move slowly until healed. Use Healing Force Palm to restore your pet's health. You can also equip pet-specific armor to increase their defensive stats and reduce the chance of injury. Pet equipment can be purchased at shops in Pororin Forest Village and Demeniss.
Managing Multiple Pets
Multiple pets can be registered at once, up to a maximum of 30. All registered companions are managed through the Inventory menu, where you can switch your active pet or review their equipment and status. Collecting all 30 unique pets is required for a Life Challenge and the Natural Collector trophy.

Spawn Location
The Pororin Cat is one of the diverse cat varieties found in Pororin Village. Multiple cat types spawn in this area, so a single visit often produces several breeds side by side, and a fixed kitten spawn sits at the back of the village near the pots. That combination makes the village one of the most efficient single-location cat farms in the game.
If the Pororin Cat is not present when you arrive, fast-travel away and return, which rerolls the cat spawn table and usually brings a different mix of variants back within the same courtyard.
Taming
The Pororin Cat follows the standard cat taming rules. Drop a preferred food near it, let it eat, then pet while holding it to build companion trust toward the 100 threshold. Cat-preferred foods include Salt-Roasted Fish, Salt-Roasted Bird Meat, and grilled foods. These give the highest trust gain per feeding and let you stay under the daily interaction cap.
For the fastest possible tame, use a Golden Carp. This legendary fish is grabbable by hand from the lake at Pailune and instantly tames the Pororin Cat in a single interaction, bypassing the usual daily feeding cap entirely. It is the recommended method when you are chasing a specific variant and do not want to wait for in-game days to roll over.
