The Mackerel is a small saltwater fish in Crimson Desert. A blue-backed saltwater fish that spoils rapidly if not cleaned or cooked soon after catching. Common along Pywel's coastlines. It is logged in the Knowledge menu under Creatures > Aquatic Creatures once caught.

Coastal waters throughout Pywel. Mackerel are common along the coastline and should be cleaned into Fish Fillet quickly after catching to avoid spoilage. Once you discover this species, its location is marked in the Knowledge menu under Creatures > Aquatic Creatures. Select "Open Map" to see the exact fishing spot on your world map.
The Mackerel requires some practice with the fishing minigame. A Basic Fishing Rod works, though upgrading to the Fine Fishing Rod will reduce bite wait times. Cast into deeper water, watch for the bite indicator, and be prepared for moderate resistance when reeling. Pull the rod in the opposite direction of the fish's movement to tire it out before attempting to reel.
Cooking: Can be cleaned into Fish Fillet at a campfire or butchery station. Fish Fillet is the key ingredient in dishes like Fish Porridge, Battered Fish, Fish Skewers, and Grilled Meat and Fish.
Selling: Can be sold to vendors. Small fish sell for modest amounts, but cooking them into meals significantly increases their value.
