Aniimo Terms in Chinese
September 17, 2026 at 12:20 AM
Initial version (2026-09-17)
Aniimo is published in Chinese twice over: the mainland edition runs in Simplified Chinese under the title 《伊莫》, and the global release carries a Traditional Chinese locale on its site, its storefront pages and its official creature index. Anyone reading Chinese guides, watching Chinese creators or playing on a Chinese server runs into the game's own vocabulary rather than a translation of the English one, and the two Chinese scripts do not always agree with each other. This page pairs the terms.
Everything here was read from first-party Chinese surfaces on 2026-09-17 UTC+8. Terms marked unverified have an official Chinese form, but the English pairing is inferred rather than anchored to a matching passage, so treat those with care.
The Simplified column comes from the mainland operator's own surfaces. The Traditional column comes from the Traditional Chinese locale of the global site and the official creature index. Where a cell is blank, no official string in that script was located on the surfaces checked as of 2026-09-17, which is a statement about what has been published rather than a claim that no such term exists in the game.
The status column means one of two things. Confirmed means the pairing is anchored by a parallel passage on two official surfaces, or by a matching quantity in a reward list. Unverified means the Chinese term is official but the English pairing was inferred from position or sense.
This table is the reason a machine conversion between scripts is unsafe on this game. In each row below, the two scripts use different words, not different character forms of the same word. Converting 虹光 into Traditional characters does not produce 虹彩, and converting 冠军立方 does not produce 終極立方. The Irisalis case is stranger still: the two forms transpose their characters rather than convert them.
English | Simplified | Traditional | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|
Pathfinders | 联结者 | 連結者 | Different word, and not the expected simple conversion 连结者 |
Irisalis | 彩虹鸢尾 | 虹尾鳶 | Characters transposed, not converted |
Wayfarer rank named in launch rewards | 初级冒险者 | Ⅰ級啟程者 | Different rank wording in each script |
When quoting a Chinese term in an article or a guide, state which script it came from. A Simplified term dropped into a Traditional context reads as a different game's terminology to a reader in that market.

Each creature entry in the official index is divided into the same labelled sections in every locale, so these pair one to one against the English headings. All of them are confirmed by reading the same payload in both languages.

No Chinese display names for the nine elements and five battle roles could be recorded as of 2026-09-17 07:35 UTC+8. The Traditional Chinese creature index carries only the internal, language neutral tags for both, of the shape used by the site's own code rather than by its interface. The same payload does carry fully localised Chinese strings for creature names, descriptions, section headings and skill names, so the reader was reading Chinese correctly and the element and role labels are genuinely not present in that payload. This is an open item rather than an absence in the game.
Three fragments of Chinese element vocabulary are confirmed from prose rather than from the index. The element system itself is referred to as 元素. A fire element debuff is written The Rock element renders as 碎岩 inside skill text, which is how the Rock tagged kick skill 碎岩飛踢 is named.
The English element and role names, with the number of Basic Forms carrying each in the launch creature index as of 2026-09-17, are below. Chinese columns are deliberately left out rather than guessed at.
Element | Basic Forms carrying it | Role | Basic Forms carrying it |
|---|---|---|---|
Rock | 14 | DPS | 29 |
Wind | 13 | BREAK | 26 |
Grass | 13 | Support | 19 |
Water | 13 | REGEN | 7 |
Fire | 12 | Heal | 5 |
Dark | 12 | ||
Electric | 10 | ||
Ice | 5 | ||
Holy | 2 |
Counts add to more than eighty six because many Aniimo carry two elements. See Aniimo Elements and Battle Roles. No type effectiveness chart has been published in any language, so do not infer matchups from the Chinese element names either.
Chinese test names all use a claw gesture and differ by one verb, which is why English coverage regularly merges them.
Chinese name | Reading | Literal sense | Which test |
|---|---|---|---|
Jǔ Zhǎo | Raise Claw Test | First closed beta, 2025-07-04 UTC+8, PC |
Huī Zhǎo | Wave Claw Test | Second closed beta, 2026-01-23 UTC+8 |
Wò Zhǎo | Grip Claw Test | Third closed beta, 2026-07-02 UTC+8, billed and data wipe |
The table below pairs every Basic Form in the official creature index with its Traditional Chinese name, as read from the English and Traditional Chinese locales of the index on 2026-09-17 UTC+8. The two locales return identical entry sets, so all eighty six pair cleanly with none missing. Element and battle role tags are shared between locales.
Dex numbers were renumbered when the index was rebuilt for launch, so a number here will not match older Chinese guides written before 2026-09-16. Names are more stable than numbers; pair on the name when comparing sources. Entries numbered above ten thousand are the special range.

Simplified Chinese names were not separately drained, because the official creature index publishes no Simplified locale. The handful that appear in the mainland operator's prose use the Simplified forms of the same names, and where the two scripts share characters the name is identical.
English | Simplified in Chinese prose | Traditional in the index | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Identical in both scripts. Described as lively and inclined to follow Flameruffs around | |
Identical in both scripts. Described as loyal and pack minded, calm eyed over a burning heart | |
Described playing in groups on the beach and charging with a shovel. Also the pre-registration egg reward | |
Identical in both scripts. Described as strong but timid | |
Described floating loosely over sunny grassland and huddling in twos and threes | |
Identical in both scripts. Given the passionate temperament in a branch comparison | |
The prose form and the index form differ. Given the aloof temperament in the same comparison | |
Identical in both scripts. Given the homebody temperament in the same comparison |
A few Chinese strings turn up on official surfaces but are not safe to publish as terminology, and they are listed here so that nobody re-adds them.
The five marketing pillar labels on the site's feature carousel are internal content management strings. They are written in Simplified characters even on the Traditional Chinese site, and two of the five carry the same English value, which looks like a data entry fault rather than player facing wording.
A second untranslated Chinese habitat string sits alongside the Crescent Bay one on a single creature entry in the launch index. It has no published English name and inventing one would put a place name into circulation that the studio has never used.
A bay form nickname and a damp form nickname appear in Chinese prose with no match anywhere in the creature index, so neither is paired here.
Several oddities in the Chinese text are faults in the official surfaces rather than transcription errors, and they are worth recognising so that they do not get copied into articles as facts.
The Traditional Chinese storefront description contains one paragraph left untranslated in Simplified characters.
The Traditional Chinese site's feature carousel carries Simplified labels.
A Chinese storefront listing writes the minimum graphics card with the wrong product family prefix.
Two habitat and creature strings in the official creature payload carry trailing full stops that belong to neither.
