Overview
Spring in Starsand Island runs from day 1 to day 28 of the Spring season and kicks off after Winter's Chinese New Year Festival closes on Spring 4. With fresh soil, seven NPC birthdays, and the orchid bloom, Spring is a renewal season: restart crop rotations, check in with farming progression, and pick off any lingering certifications from Winter. This page is a practical season-by-day checklist, synthesized from the in-game calendar, crop tables, and NPC birthday roster. For systemic detail, see Seasons and Calendar, Best Crops by Season, and NPC Birthdays.

Spring Crops
Spring is a strong season for mid-length cash crops and orchid cross-breeding. Plant on Spring 1 to guarantee full growth time before the season ends. See Best Crops by Season and All Crops for sell prices, growth times, and profitability rankings.
Crop Type | Spring-Exclusive Entries |
|---|---|
Vegetables and grains | Leek, Tomato, Cherry Tomato, Pineapple (Gmax candidate). |
Fruits and tree saplings | Strawberry, Green Grape, Water Caltrop, Star Mango, Orange sapling, Lemon sapling, Camellia sapling. |
Herbs and specials | |
Flowers | Red Orchid, Yellow Orchid, Blue Orchid. Cross-breed for rarer colors. |
Spring Fishing
Spring opens several river and lake species. Match bait and weather to the target fish. See Fishing and All Fish for the complete species list.
Anchovy: Ocean, rainy weather.
Koi: Lake, sunny weather, 12:00 to 24:00.
Red Carp: River, spring-exclusive catch.
Many spring species are sunny-weather catches, so save rainy days for summer-preview species that start spawning.
Spring Seasonal Activities (Day by Day)
The following day-by-day plan is a recommended path through a first-year Spring. Adjust based on your profession progression, active quests, and backlog.
Days | Recommended Focus |
|---|---|
Spring 1 to 4 | Finish the Chinese New Year Festival questline. Spend remaining Blessings at the Blessings Exchange. Plant Spring crops on Spring 1 to maximize harvest cycles. |
Spring 3 | Gift Graminova and Nia for their birthdays. Graminova loves Moonflowers; Nia's preferences listed on her NPC page. |
Spring 5 to 10 | Push Farmer profession progression. Plant short-cycle crops (Strawberry, Cherry Tomato) for quick Coin returns while long-cycle saplings mature. Gift Pastelle on Spring 10. |
Spring 11 to 14 | Bruce birthday (Spring 11), Sylvain birthday (Spring 14). Work on Rancher Profession if not already Intermediate. |
Spring 15 to 17 | Zerine birthday (Spring 17). Stock up on crafting materials for the Beach Festival preparation coming in Summer 25; iron, copper, hardwood, and coal run low during that window. |
Spring 18 to 22 | Cross-breed orchids if you have the Selective Breeding House. Start Moonlit Forest clears for Mirthshroom Soup (Everlasting Seed buff food). |
Spring 23 to 27 | Harvest remaining Spring crops before they wither on Summer 1. Convert stockpile into cooked dishes for the Merchant Ship 200%-value buyback window. |
Spring 28 | Youfang birthday. Plant nothing new; anything planted today will wither on Summer 1. Use the day to sell stockpiled goods and prepare Summer-crop seed budget. |
Key Spring Priorities
Farmer certification: If you are not already Intermediate Farmer, push this certification in Spring. Intermediate Farmer unlocks the basic Sprinkler blueprint, which is the single biggest quality-of-life upgrade for the rest of the year.
Cross-breeding: Spring orchids are the first wild flower cross-breeding target. Breed for rare colors while the seasonal variants are available.
Pineapple Gmax attempt: Plant 9 Pineapple seeds in a 3x3 grid. Giant Pineapple gives bonus yield and a shot at the Farmer Islandpedia entry.
Fruit tree planting: Orange, Lemon, and Camellia saplings take multiple seasons to mature. Plant them early in Spring so they produce fruit starting later in Year 1 or in Year 2.
Stockpile for Summer 25: Beach Festival preparation needs Coal x10, Iron Ingot x3, Bronze Ingot x3, Glass Pane x4, and Hardwood Plank x8 on Summer 25, plus more on Summer 26. Stockpile these during Spring to avoid last-minute scrambling.
