Thread
How to spin Thread at the Spinning Wheel in Starsand Island for direct sewing recipes and as a textile intermediate.
Loading...
Thread is a basic textile material in Starsand Island, produced at the Spinning Wheel from Fiber or Wool. Thread is one of several outputs the Spinning Wheel produces alongside Hemp Rope, Fishing Line, and Carbon Line. It feeds direct sewing recipes at the Sewing Table and appears as a component in select tool and accessory blueprints.

Spinning Wheel Blueprint | 200 Coins from Zerine's General Store (Starter tier) |
The Spinning Wheel itself is built at Worktable I from 5 Softwood Plank. The blueprint is unlocked from the start of the game; no Crafter tier is required to purchase it.
The Spinning Wheel processes raw fiber into several distinct intermediate textiles. Thread is one of four primary outputs.
Output | Key Inputs | Primary Use |

Thread | Direct sewing, accessory recipes
Furniture, fences, building components
Fishing Rods upgrades | ||
Fishing Line | Lower-tier rod upgrades
Sewing recipes that call for yarn rather than fabric |
Sewing Table recipes. Thread is consumed directly by select clothing and accessory blueprints at the Sewing Table, typically for trim, edging, and embroidered details.
Pet accessories. Several Pet Outfits and Friendship Collar blueprints list Thread as a component.
Music Box and decorative crafts. Thread appears in some Music Box and small decoration recipes.
Loom feed. Some Loom recipes that call for woven yarn rather than raw fiber consume Thread as an intermediate.
Thread is cheap to produce. Fiber sells for 5 Coins each from Zerine with infinite stock. Buy Fiber when in a hurry.
Run Spinning Wheel batches in parallel with the Loom. The two stations cover different parts of the textile pipeline. Keep both stocked.
Save Wool for specific recipes. Wool is rarer than Fiber and is also the input for Wool Yarn and Velvet. Use Fiber for Thread when possible.
