Overview
Pet Outfits are cosmetic clothing items that can be equipped on your adopted pets in Starsand Island. These outfits let you dress up your animal companions in a variety of styles, from practical-looking bandanas and collars to elaborate costumes. Pet outfits are purely cosmetic; they do not affect your pet's stats, happiness, behavior, or any gameplay mechanics. They exist solely to let you personalize your furry (or feathered) friends.
Pet outfits can be obtained from the Woof & Wow Pets shop in Starsand Town or crafted at the Sewing Table. The system was available at Early Access launch, though a notable bug affecting outfit persistence after save and reload was present until it was fixed in patch 0.3.2537.
How to Equip Pet Outfits
To dress your pet in an outfit, interact with the pet to open the pet interaction menu. From this menu, select the outfit slot to browse your available pet outfits. Choose the outfit you want to apply and confirm the selection. The outfit appears on your pet immediately.
To remove an outfit, open the same interaction menu and select the option to unequip the current outfit. Your pet returns to its default appearance. Outfits are not consumed when equipped; you can swap between outfits as often as you like without losing any items.
Each pet has a single outfit slot. You cannot layer multiple outfits on the same pet. However, you can have different pets wearing different outfits simultaneously, so if you have multiple pets on your homestead, each one can sport its own look.
Where to Get Pet Outfits

Known Bug and Fix
A significant bug affected pet outfits from the Early Access launch through early March 2026. The bug caused pet outfits to not persist after saving and reloading the game. Players would equip an outfit on their pet, save their progress, exit the game, and find the pet back in its default appearance upon loading the save. The outfit item was not lost (it remained in the player's inventory), but it had to be re-equipped every time the game was loaded.
This bug was reported extensively by the community through Steam Discussions and Discord. Seed Sparkle Lab acknowledged the issue and delivered a fix in patch 0.3.2537 (released March 6, 2026). The fix ensures that the equipped outfit ID is correctly saved to the save file alongside other pet data, so outfits now persist across save/reload cycles as expected.
If you are playing on a version prior to 0.3.2537, update your game to resolve this issue. After updating, you may need to re-equip outfits one final time, as the fix does not retroactively write outfit data to save files that were created before the patch. See the full Update History for details on all patches.
Available Outfit Types
The following categories of pet outfits are available through shops and crafting. Specific items within each category vary based on your pet species (outfits are designed to fit specific animal types) and your progression level.
Bandanas and Scarves: Simple, colorful fabric accessories tied around the pet's neck. Available in a wide range of colors and patterns. Among the cheapest and most accessible pet outfit options.
Collars: Decorative collar items in various materials (leather, fabric, beaded). Some feature small charms or bells.
Hats and Headwear: Small hats, caps, and headpieces fitted for pet heads. Includes seasonal variants like Santa hats and flower crowns.
Full Costumes: Elaborate outfits that cover most of the pet's body. These are the most expensive and visually dramatic options. Include themed costumes like pirate outfits, knight armor, and holiday costumes.
Seasonal and Event Outfits: Special outfits tied to in-game events. Available only during the event window and cannot be obtained afterward unless the event recurs.
Tips
Check the Woof & Wow Pets shop regularly. New outfit options may appear as you level up the shop by purchasing items.
Crafting outfits at the Sewing Table is a good way to save Coins if you have surplus fabric and thread from other crafting activities.
Take screenshots of your dressed-up pets using the game's photo mode. Pet outfits are a popular subject for community sharing.
If an outfit is not appearing on your pet after equipping, make sure your game is updated to at least version 0.3.2537 to ensure the persistence fix is applied.
Different pet species have different outfit selections. A dog and a cat will not have identical outfit options, so check each pet's available wardrobe individually.
