Overview

Starsand Island has 75 achievements on Steam (33 on Xbox, where some categories are consolidated). Every achievement displays a cryptic in-game clue rather than a direct description, so players need to decode what each one requires. Achievements span profession progression, land ownership, NPC relationships, pet adoption, fashion, vehicles, and special milestones. All achievements can be earned within a single save file at your own pace.

The game is in Early Access, so some achievements (particularly Soaring High and the multiplayer-related ones) may require content that is not yet available. This guide covers every achievement with its in-game clue, unlock method, and practical tips.

Getting Started (2 Achievements)

These unlock naturally during the tutorial and early gameplay.

Island Newcomer unlocks at a 94% completion rate, making it the most common achievement. Home Builder requires purchasing your first home expansion, which becomes available after reaching Junior rank in any profession.

Profession Achievements (27 Achievements)

The largest category. There are five professions (Crafter, Farmer, Angler, Rancher, Explorer), each with five ranks from Apprentice to Expert. Progressing through these ranks unlocks 25 individual achievements plus 2 general profession achievements.

General Profession Milestones

Crafter Profession Track

Mentor: Zerine at Zerine's General Store. Trials involve crafting items, processing materials, and upgrading crafting stations.

Farmer Profession Track

Mentor: Graminova at the Happiness Seed Shop. Trials involve growing crops, harvesting, and mastering farming techniques.

Angler Profession Track

Mentor: Delphin at the AquaBlue Outpost. Trials involve catching fish, upgrading rods, and exploring fishing spots.

Rancher Profession Track

Mentor: Pastelle at the Green Pasture Ranch. Trials involve raising animals, breeding, and managing ranching facilities.

Explorer Profession Track

Mentor: Zephyria at the Exploration Club. Trials involve combat, exploration, dungeon clearing, and discovering the island.

Land and Property (7 Achievements)

Land is purchased in a fixed progression order: Hopeland expansions first, then Cloudrest Lake, then Blue Beach, and finally Windflute Island. You cannot skip ahead. The Island Life app on your Phone tracks progression through ownership milestones.

Land purchases require both Coins and Starsand Points. Costs escalate significantly: early plots cost around 2,000 Coins and 50 SP, while late-game plots can cost 160,000 Coins and 300 SP. Windflute Island requires reaching the Starsand Legend rank in Island Life, making Offshore Living one of the rarest achievements (1.4% completion rate).

Transportation (4 Achievements)

Vehicles and bus stops both provide fast travel options across the island.

Vehicles are purchased from Neona at G-Power Bike in Half-Moon Bay. Scooters are affordable early on, while cars cost significantly more. Bus stops are built using materials through the building system and provide free fast travel once constructed.

Fashion (3 Achievements)

Clothing is purchased from Lunelle at Ethereal Styles in Starsand Town, or unlocked through quests and events.

Fashion Learner has an 82% completion rate, so most players accumulate clothing naturally. To reach 30 for Fashion Expert, make sure to check Ethereal Styles regularly for new stock and complete NPC quests that reward clothing items.

Furniture and Decoration (3 Achievements)

Furniture is crafted at the Worktable or purchased from Lex Woodworks. Both crafting and placing count toward these milestones.

Not Empty Walls is the third most common achievement (86% completion). For Renovated Home, you need 100 unique furniture pieces, so explore all sources: Lex Woodworks, Gacha Machine, Island Life milestones, Drift Bottles, festivals, and exploration chests.

Relationship Achievements (16 Achievements)

The largest single category. Relationships are tracked through friendship hearts with NPCs. Each heart level requires giving gifts, completing quests, and spending time with islanders. Heart levels range from 1 to 5.

Tip: focus on giving Loved gifts daily and completing NPC-specific quests to raise hearts efficiently. Check the NPC gift preferences page for each islander's favorites. The relationship achievements from Heart Level 3 onward have very low completion rates (under 25%), so they take sustained effort.

Social (2 Achievements)

Both unlock naturally as you explore. Recognized by Everyone requires visiting all areas of the island since some NPCs are located in remote spots like Half-Moon Bay and Windflute Island.

Pets (3 Achievements)

Pets are adopted from Stella at Woof & Wow Pets in Starsand Town.

Pets cost Coins. Fluffy Recluse requires 6 pets, which means buying nearly all available options. Only 1.1% of players have this achievement.

Special Achievements (3 Achievements)

The Luna Deer mount is unlocked through high-level Explorer progression. Soaring High has the lowest completion rate at 1.0%, suggesting its unlock condition may be tied to content still being developed.

Multiplayer Achievement (1 Achievement)

Completion Strategy

For efficient 100% completion, follow this general order:

1. Tutorial and Early Game: Island Newcomer unlocks automatically. Start all five professions to Apprentice for Jack of One Trade. Craft 10 furniture pieces for Not Empty Walls.

2. Mid-Game Progression: Push all professions to Junior for Jack of All Trades. Buy your first land for A Landowner's Pride. Build a bus stop for Get on Board Now!. Start meeting NPCs and giving gifts daily.

3. Fashion and Furniture: Buy clothing from Ethereal Styles regularly. Purchase furniture blueprints from Lex Woodworks. Pull the Gacha Machine at Chrono Arcade for exclusive items.

4. Late-Game Grind: Max all professions for Master of All Trades. Complete 100 requests for Versatile Helper. Buy all land plots. Reach Heart Level 5 with 10 NPCs for Lifelong Companions.

5. Endgame: Purchase Windflute Island for Offshore Living. Adopt 6 pets for Fluffy Recluse. Build all 9 bus stops for Road Master.

Completion Rates

Here are the rarest achievements based on Steam global completion rates, useful for planning your endgame priorities:

Xbox completion data shows even lower rates for the hardest achievements. Soaring High and Offshore Living sit at roughly 0.05% completion, Sandcastle Kingdom at 0.06%, and both Lifelong Companions and Fluffy Recluse at around 0.07%. Versatile Helper comes in at 0.13%, while Master of All Trades is the most achievable of the rare ones at approximately 0.95%.

Tips for Achievement Hunters

• Check the Bulletin Board every day and complete all available requests. This is the only way to progress toward Versatile Helper (100 requests), and the points stack up slowly.

• Talk to every NPC daily, even those you are not actively gifting. Daily conversations give +5 affection each and add up over time.

• Unlock all 5 professions to Apprentice rank early. This earns Jack of One Trade and starts the clock on leveling all professions for Jack of All Trades and Master of All Trades.

• Buy land as soon as you can afford it. The land progression is linear (Hopeland, Cloudrest Lake, Blue Beach, Windflute Island), and later plots unlock only after earlier ones are purchased.

• Spend Starsand Points in the Workpedia as soon as you earn them. The Efficiency Boost perk (Crafter tree) is one of the most impactful early unlocks, increasing yields from chopping and mining.

• Focus your gifting on romanceable NPCs first since they can reach Heart Level 5. You need 10 NPCs at Heart 5 for Lifelong Companions, which is only achievable with romanceable characters.

• Build bus stops as you explore new areas. Road Master requires 9 total bus stops, and having fast travel saves enormous time on daily gifting rounds.

• For Fluffy Recluse, combine all three pet adoption methods: wild befriending, shop purchases (7,500 coins each from Woof & Wow), and rescue quests.
