Overview
Quizzes are one of the four mini games in Pokemon Pokopia. Unlike the other mini games, Quizzes involve answering questions posed by befriended Pokemon. When you answer correctly, the Pokemon rewards you with a gift item. Quiz questions test your knowledge of Pokemon data, specifically comparing height, weight, and favorite preferences between different Pokemon.
How Quizzes Work
Quizzes are random encounters that occur with Pokemon you have befriended. While exploring your town, a befriended Pokemon may approach you and ask if you would like to take a quiz. If you accept, the Pokemon poses a question, and you select an answer from the choices provided. If you choose correctly, the Pokemon gives you a gift. Quizzes cannot be manually triggered; they happen spontaneously during gameplay.

One important limitation is that you cannot open the menu while speaking to a Pokemon. This means you cannot check the Pokedex during a quiz to look up the answer. The question must be answered from memory or with the help of an external reference.
How to Unlock
Quizzes become available once you have befriended at least one Pokemon. Any befriended Pokemon in your town can initiate a quiz at random. The more Pokemon you befriend, the more frequently you may encounter quiz opportunities.
Question Types
Quiz questions always involve comparing attributes between the Pokemon asking the question and another Pokemon. There are three categories of questions that a Pokemon can ask.
Height Comparison
The Pokemon will ask you to compare its height with another Pokemon. For example, a Pokemon might ask which of the two is taller, or whether it is taller or shorter than the referenced Pokemon. Heights are measured in feet and inches, matching the values shown in each Pokemon's Pokedex entry. Some comparisons are straightforward (comparing a Wailord to a Joltik), but others involve Pokemon of similar size where the difference may only be a few inches.
Weight Comparison
Similar to height questions, the Pokemon will ask you to compare weights. These questions ask which Pokemon is heavier or lighter. Weights are measured in pounds, again matching each Pokemon's Pokedex data. Weight questions can be tricky because a Pokemon's physical appearance does not always correspond to its actual weight. A small Pokemon made of rock or metal can outweigh a much larger one.
Favorites Comparison
Favorites questions ask about a Pokemon's preference categories. Each Pokemon in Pokopia has six favorite preferences drawn from a pool of over 40 possible categories. The Pokemon might ask what one of its favorites is, or whether it shares a particular favorite with another Pokemon. Favorites are tied to each Pokemon's type, personality, and habitat, so they can often be guessed logically. For instance, Grass-type Pokemon tend to favor "Lots of nature," while Fire-type Pokemon often enjoy "Lots of fire."

Rewards
Correct answers earn you a gift from the Pokemon. Rewards include Berries, Ores (such as Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and Gold Ore), and sometimes even Lost Relics. The specific reward varies depending on the Pokemon asking the question. Answering correctly also improves your friendship and comfort level with that Pokemon through the Comfort System.
There is no penalty for answering incorrectly other than missing out on the gift. You will not lose friendship or comfort with a Pokemon for giving the wrong answer, so there is no downside to guessing if you are unsure.

Tips and Strategy
Preparation
Before heading out to explore, review the heights and weights of Pokemon currently living on your island. This information is available in each Pokemon's Pokedex entry, as well as the Habitat Dex.
Memorize or write down the favorites for your most common Pokemon. Since each Pokemon has exactly six favorites, narrowing down shared preferences becomes easier with familiarity.
Pay attention to type associations. Grass-type Pokemon generally favor nature-related categories, Fire-types favor fire categories, and Water-types lean toward water and ocean categories. These patterns are not universal, but they hold true for the majority of Pokemon.
External tools like the PokopiaDex comparison tool let you enter any two Pokemon and instantly see their heights, weights, and all six favorites side by side. Keeping this open on a phone or second screen makes quizzes trivial to answer.
During the Quiz
Remember that you cannot open the in-game menu or Pokedex while a Pokemon is talking to you. If you are not sure of the answer, you will need to rely on memory or an external reference.
For height and weight questions, think about the Pokemon's real-world inspiration. Pokemon based on whales, elephants, or dinosaurs tend to be heavy and tall, while those based on insects or small animals are usually light and short.
For favorites questions, consider the Pokemon's type and behavior. A Bug-type that lives in trees will likely enjoy "Lots of nature" and "Wooden stuff," while a Ghost-type probably favors "Spooky stuff."
There is no penalty for a wrong answer. You simply miss the reward, so never hesitate to guess if you are uncertain. The Pokemon will not hold it against you.
Maximizing Quiz Encounters
Befriend as many Pokemon as possible across your town. More befriended Pokemon means a higher chance of being approached for a quiz during any given play session.
Like other mini games, the comfort level increase from quizzes generally applies once per day per Pokemon. Spread your playtime across multiple days for the best results.
Explore different areas of your town regularly. Pokemon tend to approach you when you walk near them, so covering ground increases encounters with quiz-ready Pokemon.
