Overview
Jump Rope is one of four mini-games in Pokemon Pokopia. Bulbasaur uses its vines as a jump rope, and the player must time their jumps to avoid tripping. The mini-game rewards Copper Ore and Honey based on your score, and it provides a daily comfort boost for Bulbasaur. Jump Rope supports up to 4 players in multiplayer sessions.
How to Unlock
Jump Rope becomes available in the Withered Wasteland after meeting two conditions:
Raise Bulbasaur's comfort level by fulfilling its personal requests and improving its habitat.
Complete Bulbasaur's habitat in the Withered Wasteland.
Once both conditions are met, talk to Bulbasaur to start a Jump Rope session.
How to Play
Bulbasaur extends its vines and swings them in a circle like a jump rope. The player (as Ditto) stands in the middle and must jump over the vines as they pass.
Action | Control |
|---|---|
Jump | Press R when the rope approaches |
Key mechanics:
Timing: Press R when the rope is roughly 30 degrees above the ground for optimal timing. Jumping too early or too late causes a trip.
Speed increases: Bulbasaur periodically increases the rope speed as you progress. An exclamation mark (!) appears above Bulbasaur's head to signal an incoming speed change. Watch for this warning to adjust your timing.
Goal: Keep jumping as long as possible to set a new high score. The game ends when you trip.
Rewards
Jump Rope gives out item rewards based on how many successful jumps you complete:
Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
10 jumps | 1 Copper Ore |
50 jumps | 1 Honey |
Copper Ore is a key crafting material used for smelting Copper Ingots, which are needed for rebuilding Pokemon Centers in Rocky Ridges and other advanced construction. Honey is used for attracting hidden Pokemon and various recipes.
There is a daily cap on item rewards. After approximately 20 games per day, Bulbasaur stops awarding prizes. The cap resets at the start of each new in-game day (5:00 AM).
Comfort Boost
Completing a round of Jump Rope boosts Bulbasaur's comfort level. This comfort boost only applies once per day, regardless of how many rounds you play. The boost counts toward Bulbasaur's overall comfort progression, helping push it toward higher tiers (Nice, Great, Awesome).
Jump Rope is one of several mini-games that provide daily comfort boosts. Playing all available mini-games each day is a reliable way to incrementally raise comfort across your settlement.
Multiplayer
Jump Rope supports up to 4 players in both local wireless and online multiplayer sessions. All players jump the same rope simultaneously, making it a cooperative challenge where everyone must stay in sync.
Note: Jump Rope is not available during GameShare sessions. All mini-games are disabled when GameShare is active, even for the host.
Other Mini-Games
Pokopia features three other mini-games alongside Jump Rope:
Mini-Game | Pokemon | Description |
|---|---|---|
Hide-and-Seek | Zorua | Hiders transform into objects using Camouflage. Seekers search the area. Supports up to 4 players. |
Look That Way | Various | A pointing game played over 3 rounds. Guess left or right correctly. Boosts friendship. |
Quizzes | Various befriended Pokemon | Answer trivia questions correctly to receive a gift from the Pokemon. |
Each mini-game provides a comfort boost to the associated Pokemon once per day. Playing all four daily is a solid routine for raising comfort across your settlement.
Tips
Watch for the exclamation mark (!) above Bulbasaur's head. It signals a speed increase is coming, so prepare to adjust your timing.
Jump when the rope is about 30 degrees above the ground, not when it reaches the bottom. This gives you the best window for clearing it.
The first 10 jumps are easy and guarantee 1 Copper Ore. Even if you are struggling with higher scores, playing for 10 jumps each session is worth doing for the free ore.
Play Jump Rope every day for the comfort boost, even if your score is low. The once-per-day comfort increase adds up over time.
In multiplayer, coordinate with friends. Everyone jumping at the same time makes it easier to maintain rhythm as the speed increases.
Jump Rope is not a practical way to farm large quantities of Copper Ore compared to mining in Rocky Ridges. Treat it as a bonus source rather than your primary supply.
Combine Jump Rope with the other three mini-games (Hide-and-Seek, Look That Way, Quizzes) as a daily routine for steady comfort gains across multiple Pokemon.
