Overview
Camouflage is a Ditto transformation move in Pokemon Pokopia that lets Ditto copy the appearance of a nearby object to disguise itself. It is the eighth move unlocked in the game, taught by Zorua at Bleak Beach. Unlike most other moves, Camouflage is primarily a social and minigame feature rather than a building or exploration tool. It powers the hide-and-seek minigame that can be played solo with Zorua or with other players in multiplayer.
How to Unlock
Complete the initial home-building request in Bleak Beach.
Wait for a square block with a speech bubble to appear near the Pokemon Center.
Use Rock Smash to punch the block. It is actually Zorua in disguise.
After revealing Zorua, complete its request: craft and deliver a Toy Block.
Zorua will teach you Camouflage.
Controls
Button | Action |
|---|---|
ZR (near an object) | Transform into that object's appearance |
Left Stick | Move slowly while disguised |
While in Camouflage, Ditto takes on the exact shape and color of a nearby environmental object (rocks, crates, furniture, etc.). Movement is significantly slowed while disguised. You cannot interact with Pokemon or use other moves while Camouflage is active. Press ZR again or use any other move to drop the disguise.
Hide-and-Seek Minigame
The primary use of Camouflage is the hide-and-seek minigame with Zorua. You can start a round at any time by talking to Zorua and selecting the hide-and-seek option.
Hiding: You have a set amount of time to find a hiding spot and use Camouflage. Zorua will then search for you. The better your disguise blends with the surroundings, the harder it is for Zorua to find you.
Seeking: Zorua hides somewhere in the area as a disguised object. Walk around and interact with suspicious objects to find Zorua before the timer runs out.
Multiplayer Usage
Camouflage becomes more entertaining in multiplayer. When playing on Cloud Islands or visiting a friend's world, all players who have unlocked Camouflage can participate in group hide-and-seek sessions. One player hides while the others seek, or multiple players can hide simultaneously for a larger-scale game.
Tips
Camouflage does not consume PP, so you can stay disguised indefinitely.
Choose objects that naturally appear in the area. Disguising yourself as a palm tree in a rocky cave is a dead giveaway.
In multiplayer hide-and-seek, try hiding in a cluster of identical objects (e.g., a group of barrels). This makes it much harder for seekers to spot the odd one out.
Camouflage has no effect on gameplay progression. It is purely a fun social activity. If you are focused on building and exploring, you can safely skip using it.
