Overview
PP (Power Points) in Pokemon Pokopia is the energy resource that fuels all of Ditto's moves. Every action beyond basic walking and talking, from watering crops with Water Gun to smashing rocks with Rock Smash, drains PP from a shared gauge displayed at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Running out of PP means you cannot use any moves until it is restored.
The PP Gauge
The PP gauge is a blue bar that decreases as you use moves. Different moves consume PP at different rates:
Low PP cost: Water Gun, Leafage, Rototiller (single-use actions)
Medium PP cost: Rock Smash, Cut, Burn
High PP cost: Surf, Rollout, Fly (continuous movement abilities that drain PP over time)
The gauge does not regenerate on its own. You must actively restore it through food or the Pokemon Center.
How to Restore PP
There are two primary methods to restore PP:
Eating Food
Cooked food is the most common and reliable way to restore PP. Any food item prepared through the cooking system fully restores your PP gauge when consumed. In addition to restoring PP, cooked food temporarily powers up a specific move, expanding its range and allowing it to break through tougher materials. This makes cooking essential for tackling harder terrain in late-game areas.
Food is cooked using stations like the Frying Pan, Cooking Pot, and Bread Oven. Each station handles different recipe types. See the Cooking article for full recipe details.
Pokemon Center
Visiting a Pokemon Center and interacting with the counter restores PP to full. This service is available once per day, resetting at 5:00 AM. While convenient, the daily limit means you should not rely on Centers alone for PP management.
PP Management Tips
Always carry cooked food in your inventory. Running out of PP in a remote area with no food is one of the most common early-game mistakes.
Use low-PP moves when possible. Water Gun in a + pattern covers 5 blocks for minimal PP cost. Save high-PP moves like Surf and Rollout for when they are actually needed.
Cook food in bulk before embarking on long exploration sessions. Several dishes stacked in your inventory ensure you never get stranded.
In Sparkling Skylands and late-game areas, the powered-up move effect from food is just as important as the PP restoration. Match food types to the moves you plan to use.
The Frying Pan is the earliest cooking station (requires 1 Copper Ingot). Prioritize crafting one as soon as you can smelt copper.
Pokemon with the Grow specialty can help accelerate farming ingredients for cooking, making food production more efficient over time.
