Overview
Snorlax is a Normal-type Pokemon with the Trade specialty in Pokemon Pokopia. It can staff shops at powered Cash Registers like other Trade-specialty Pokemon. However, the more notable version of Snorlax is Mosslax, one of seven Special Pokemon in the game. Mosslax is a moss-covered Snorlax with a flower growing on its head that has the exclusive Eat specialty, providing powerful daily buffs when fed.
Finding Mosslax
Mosslax is found in Bleak Beach, the second major region. To reach Mosslax:
Progress to Bleak Beach (east of the Withered Wasteland). You need Great Trainer Rank to access this area.
Head south toward the desolate S.S. Anne, then go left toward the beach hut.
On the cliffside, find blocks that can be torn down with Rock Smash.
Break through to discover Mosslax sleeping behind the wall.
Complete the "Brighten Things Up" quest to wake Mosslax.
Mosslax's Backstory
According to its lore, Mosslax was originally an ordinary Snorlax that got into a fight with another Pokemon and lost. Frustrated, it decided to sleep off its bad mood. However, Mosslax ended up sleeping for so long that it slept through the entire environmental catastrophe that devastated the world. By the time it woke up, thick moss and a flower had grown on its body, giving it its distinctive appearance.
Eat Specialty and Daily Buffs
Mosslax has the exclusive Eat specialty. You can feed Mosslax one food item per day. The buff you receive depends on the flavor profile of the food. Each buff lasts until 5:00 AM the following day.
Flavor | Effect | Recommended For |
|---|---|---|
Spicy | More Pokemon appear in habitats (increased spawn rate) | Filling out the Pokedex and befriending new Pokemon quickly |
Sweet | Easier to find Ancient Artifacts in Glowing Blocks | Completing the Lost Relic and Fossil collections |
Bitter | Rare item drops are more common | Farming valuable crafting materials |
Dry | Rainbow Feathers and Silver Feathers spawn more easily | Trading with Gimmighoul and crafting the Clear Bell or Tidal Bell |
Sour | Better items appear in shop inventory | Finding rare recipes and building materials at shops |
Neutral | Increased friendship rate with Pokemon | Raising comfort levels faster across all Pokemon |
Best daily choices: Spicy food for Pokedex completion and Dry food for feather farming are generally the most impactful buffs. Dry food is especially valuable because Rainbow and Silver Feathers are needed to summon Ho-Oh and Lugia.
Regular Snorlax
Regular (non-Mosslax) Snorlax also exists in the game with the Trade specialty. Snorlax can be attracted to three different habitats:
Habitat | Materials |
|---|---|
Good Old-Fashioned Antiques | Antique Shelf x1, Seat x1, Table x1 |
Tree-Shaded Snoozing Snorlax | Large Tree x1, Tall Grass x3 |
Gourmet's Altar | Plated Food x2, Pedestal x1 |
Regular Snorlax's ideal habitat type is Bright. Like Mosslax, large Pokemon need appropriately sized beds for maximum comfort.

Tips
Feed Mosslax every day without fail. The daily buffs are some of the most powerful passive effects in the game.
Match the flavor to your current goal. Doing a Pokedex run? Use Spicy. Hunting for legendaries? Use Dry.
Provide a large bed for Snorlax and Mosslax. Small beds reduce comfort for large Pokemon.
Mosslax cannot be moved between regions. Visit Bleak Beach specifically when you want to feed it.
Check the cooking recipes to learn which foods produce each flavor. Carrots and Spicy Soup are easy Spicy options; Mushrooms and Mushroom Soup are easy Dry options.
