Overview
Cyndaquil is a Fire-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Fire Mouse Pokemon (Dex #224). It usually stays hunched over, and if it is angry or surprised, it shoots flames out of its back. Cyndaquil is the first stage of the Johto fire starter line, followed by Quilava and Typhlosion. It carries the Burn specialty, which lets it set fire to flammable objects around the island.
Habitat
Cyndaquil can be found at one habitat.
Concrete Pipe Secret Base (#141)
A concrete pipe that hasn't been used in a long time. The hollow interior is perfect for a secret base.
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Concrete Pipe | 3 | Large cylindrical structure |
Tall Grass (any) | 4 | Any variety of tall grass |
Cyndaquil is a Common visitor at the Concrete Pipe Secret Base. It is available during all times of day (Morning, Day, Evening, Night) and in all weather conditions (Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy). This habitat also attracts Quilava (Common).
How to Befriend
Build the Concrete Pipe Secret Base by placing three Concrete Pipes and four Tall Grass items of any variety near each other. Cyndaquil is a Common visitor here, so it should appear quickly. Walk up and interact with it to befriend it. You will also find Quilava at this same habitat.
Specialties
Burn
Cyndaquil has the Burn specialty. Pokemon with the Burn specialty can set fire to flammable objects. This is useful for clearing brush, lighting firepits and campfires, and handling other fire-related tasks around your island.

Evolution Family
Cyndaquil is the first stage of a three-member evolution family. In the main Pokemon series, Cyndaquil evolves into Quilava (Dex #225) at level 14, and Quilava evolves into Typhlosion (Dex #226) at level 36. In Pokopia, there is no evolution mechanic, so each member must be found at its own habitat independently. Cyndaquil and Quilava both share the Concrete Pipe Secret Base habitat as Common visitors. Quilava also appears at the Fireplace Nap Spot, and Typhlosion can be found at the Fireplace Nap Spot (Rare) and Top Pop (Rare).
Tips
The Concrete Pipe Secret Base is a very practical habitat since both Cyndaquil and Quilava appear there as Common visitors. Build one habitat to get two Pokemon.
Concrete Pipes and Tall Grass are both basic materials that are available early in the game, making this one of the simpler habitats to set up.
Cyndaquil's Burn specialty pairs well with other Fire-type Pokemon if you need multiple fire starters around your island.
Place fire-themed and warm-environment decorations near the habitat to boost Cyndaquil's Comfort Level. Firepits and campfires are excellent choices.
