Daily Quests
Starsand Island does not have a traditional "daily quest" tab, but several repeatable activities refresh every day and form the backbone of your daily income. The Bulletin Board at the Community Center is the centerpiece, offering up to four NPC requests each morning. Beyond that, StarNote tasks, tourist side quests, photography, and NPC interactions all contribute daily rewards of Coins, Starsand Points, and Affection.
Bulletin Board Requests
The Bulletin Board sits outside the Community Center on the east side of Starsand Town's plaza. It refreshes every morning at 6:00 AM with up to four new requests from local NPCs.
Each request is a timed fetch or craft quest: an NPC needs a specific item (crops, cooked dishes, crafted goods, or gathered materials), and you deliver it to them before the timer expires. If you miss the deadline, the request simply expires with no penalty.
Difficulty Tiers and Rewards
Difficulty | Starsand Points | Affection | Coin Reward | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
1-Star (Simple) | 25 | +15 AP | Moderate | Easy items you likely have stockpiled. Generous time limits. Best for beginners. |
2-Star (Normal) | 35 | +20 AP (approx.) | Higher | May require crafted or cooked items. Some preparation needed. |
3-Star (Difficult) | 70 to 100 | +25 to +30 AP | Highest | Tight time limits and harder-to-obtain items. Much easier with advanced crafting stations. |
Completing all four daily requests earns roughly 1,500 to 2,000 Coins, making the Bulletin Board one of the best income sources in the early and mid-game. The Affection bonus stacks with daily conversation and gifting, making requests one of the most efficient ways to build relationships.
Completion Milestones
The Bulletin Board tracks your total completions across each difficulty tier. At certain milestones, you can claim bonus prizes including large Coin payouts and blueprints. Completing 30 total requests is also required for one of the Island Life Ranking progression tasks.
Personal Bulletin Board
Traveling to the Community Center every morning gets old. Once you reach Apprentice or Junior Crafter, you can purchase a Request Bulletin blueprint from Zerine's General Store. Build it on your property and you can accept requests from home, skipping the daily trip to town entirely.
StarNote Daily Tasks
The StarNote app on your phone includes daily refreshing objectives alongside one-time achievements. Daily tasks are simple actions like "harvest 10 crops," "talk to 3 NPCs," or "catch 2 fish." Completing them grants EXP that contributes to your StarNote level. Each level-up awards Starsand Points and cosmetic rewards.
StarNote tasks fall across four categories:
Category | Example Tasks |
|---|---|
Building Homestead | Place furniture, build crafting stations, expand your home |
Farmer's Life | Harvest crops, water plants, plant seeds, process goods |
Island Residents | Talk to NPCs, give gifts, complete Bulletin Board requests |
Daily Moments | Take photos, help tourists, explore new areas, catch bugs |
You must manually open the StarNote app and claim your rewards after each level-up. Many tasks complete passively through normal gameplay, so check the app regularly to collect unclaimed Starsand.
Tourist NPC Quests
Randomly spawning tourist NPCs appear around town, on beaches, and at the pier throughout the day. You can spot them by their colorful clothing that stands out from regular islanders. Interacting with tourists can trigger small quests, usually photo requests or item deliveries.
Tourist quests reward Starsand Points along with miscellaneous items like fish bait, flower seeds, and crafting materials. Best locations to check for tourists:
Half-Moon Bay and the pier area
Town Square near the Community Center
The beach and coastal paths
Near Green Pasture Ranch
Flower Corridor
Tourists do not appear on a fixed schedule, so there is no guaranteed spawn. Just talk to any unfamiliar NPC you spot. Even when they do not have a quest, they sometimes hand you a free resource.
Scenery Album Photography
The Scenery Album is a persistent collection tied to the Album app on your phone. Photographing specific landmarks, shops, and points of interest around the island earns 20 Starsand Points per new entry. While not technically a daily quest (each landmark only counts once), exploring new areas and snapping photos provides steady Starsand income during exploration sessions.
The Album app also awards milestone bonuses at certain collection thresholds, including emotes and additional Starsand. This system rewards thorough exploration of the island.
Daily NPC Interactions
Talking to each NPC once per day earns +5 Affection Points with that character. Giving them a gift adds another +5 to +15 AP depending on the item. These are not quests in the traditional sense, but they are daily repeatable actions with meaningful cumulative value. Over a season of 28 days, talking to a single NPC every day yields 140 free AP, enough for one full heart level. See the Friendship Levels article for the full AP breakdown.
Optimal Daily Routine
Community guides recommend the following morning routine to maximize daily rewards:
Step | Activity | Reward |
|---|---|---|
1 | Wake up at 6:00 AM. Check the Bulletin Board (or personal Request Bulletin) and accept all available requests. | Sets up Coin, Starsand, and AP income for the day |
2 | Water crops and check animal feeders. Handle farm maintenance while stamina is full. | Crop growth progress, animal products |
3 | Do a gifting and conversation round. Talk to priority NPCs and give them loved gifts. | +20 AP per NPC (talk + loved gift) |
4 | Deliver completed Bulletin Board items. Turn in any requests you can fill from existing inventory. | Coins, Starsand Points, AP |
5 | Open the StarNote app and claim any completed tasks or level-up rewards. | Starsand Points, cosmetics |
6 | Explore, fish, mine, or craft for the rest of the day. Work on Bulletin Board items you still need. | Resources, profession XP |
7 | Talk to any tourists you encounter during travel. Photograph new landmarks. | Starsand Points, misc items |
8 | Start cooking meals before bed. The cooking timer runs overnight, so batch-cook for the next day. | Food for stamina and gifting |
Tips
Stockpile commonly requested items. Keep a chest near your Request Bulletin with crops, cooked dishes, and basic crafted goods. If you already have the item when a request appears, completing it takes seconds.
Skip 3-star requests early on. The tight time limits and rare item requirements make them frustrating without advanced gear. Focus on 1-star and 2-star requests until you have a well-stocked inventory.
Build the personal Request Bulletin. It saves a daily round trip to the Community Center, which adds up to significant time savings over a season.
Target specific NPCs via the board. If an NPC you are pursuing posts a request, completing it gives both Coins and Affection. Check who posted each request before accepting.
Cook in batches. Start meals before bed so they finish overnight. Pre-cooked food serves double duty: stamina recovery for you, and high-value gifts for NPCs.
Check the StarNote app regularly. Rewards do not auto-collect. Many achievements complete passively through normal gameplay, so you may have unclaimed Starsand Points sitting in the app.
