Restored body text in sections that were rendering empty
Patch 1.05.00 is a major Crimson Desert content update released by Pearl Abyss on May 2, 2026 (revised same day). The patch is the third major post-launch update and ships the Boss Rematch system and the Re-Blockade system, the two flagship endgame loops promised in the Developer Roadmap: April to June 2026. On consoles the build number is 1.000.251. The patch contains over 190 tweaks, fixes, and improvements in total.
The headline content additions are two new legendary pets (Iron Eagle and Hyacinth Macaw), one new boss (Mountain God Boar), the rematch system covering 69 previously defeated bosses, and the Re-Blockade system that lets enemy factions take back 23 forts and quarries across 13 factions. The patch also corrects two long-standing regressions: comrade Trust no longer resets to 10 under certain conditions, and legendary mounts no longer die immediately after being summoned.

The Boss Rematches feature lets players re-fight any of 69 previously defeated bosses without starting a new save. Memory Fragments now appear on the world map and minimap at every site where a boss was first beaten, and they can also be navigated through Knowledge then Memory Fragments then Bosses. Lighting your lantern at a Memory Fragment, or using the Blinding Flash skill, triggers the rematch.
Rematches run in one of two modes selected before the fight begins.
Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
Reminisce | The boss matches the stats and gear from your first encounter. Designed as a way to see how far your build has progressed since the original fight. |
Resonate | The boss is scaled to your current progression. Functions as a fair fight when your level and gear have moved well past the original encounter. |
Rematches grant no separate loot. Consumables used during the fight are restored to their pre-rematch state once the battle ends, so the system is positioned as endgame replayability rather than progression farming.
The Re-Blockading feature lets enemy factions retake liberated locations. The system covers 23 forts and quarries spanning 13 factions at launch. Re-blockades are applied at a set probability for strongholds that meet specific time and condition requirements, and the new state is loaded after a transition screen, meaning either saving and reloading or sleeping in a bed.
A new Re-Blockade Frequency option appears under Settings then Gameplay with three values:
Frequency | Behavior |
|---|---|
Stable | Re-blockades will not occur. Liberated strongholds remain liberated. |
Conflict | Default. Re-blockades occur intermittently. |
War | Re-blockades occur frequently. |
Pearl Abyss has stated intent to gradually increase the faction count, the stronghold count, and the threat level of re-blockading enemies in future updates rather than expanding everything at once.
The Iron Eagle is a legendary mechanical bird taming target located at Hawkstone Ruins, south of the City of Delesyia (just above the letter A in Delesyia on the world map). Interacting with the cogwheel statue at dawn (around 4:45 to 5:00 AM in-game time) triggers the bird's arrival. Place the Sotdae of Bond near the statue and load it with 20 Mercury ores. Once Trust reaches +100, the Take In prompt registers the Iron Eagle as a pet.
The Hyacinth Macaw is a legendary blue parrot tamed at Giant's Yard Outpost in the Redtree Forest, near the Red River along the Tashkalp boundary. Place the Sotdae of Bond by the cliffs of the camp and load it with 7 Desert Melons (each Melon raises Trust by 15). At Trust +100 the Take In prompt claims the pet.
There is a known ordering issue: taming the Iron Eagle before the Hyacinth Macaw can prevent the Macaw from spawning. Players who want both legendary birds should tame the Macaw first.
The Mountain God Boar is a new boss-class encounter in the Odeck area of Pailune, north of Silver Wolf Mountain. The trigger is reading the Lumberjack's Witness Report at Pailune's Saddlery, then destroying enough trees in the nearby forest to enrage the boss. The fight is single-phase but the boss summons smaller boar minions during the encounter. Confirmed drops include Fine Timber, Flawless Timber, Tree Branches, and an Abyss Artifact (rare). The Mountain God Boar cannot currently be used as a special mount.
Patch 1.05.00 expands the disguise selection sold by Back Alley Shop vendors across multiple regions. The new pieces double as faction disguises that reduce hostile NPC detection in the matching territory. None of the new disguise items can currently be dyed.
Region | Vendor Location | New Items | Disguise Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
Grimrak, southeast of Hernand | Matana Leather Armor, Yabel Leather Armor, Locabell Cloth Cloak, Deer Hat | Staglord Acolyte disguise | |
Back alley vendor east of the hills | Civilian rider disguise | ||
Pailune back alley | Tyrant Cloth Armor, Tyrant Cloth Cloak | Pailune insurgent disguise | |
Eastern Demeniss back alley | Condemner's Plate Helm, Condemner's Plate Armor, Windmere Standard Plate Armor | Righteous Inquisitor disguise; useful for entering Demeniss before completing main story | |
Delesyia back alley (Sling) | Yudi Gale Cloth Armor, Due Haven Cloak, Wyvernflames Cloth Armor, Wyvernflame Cloth Helm | Inquisitor and Wyvernflame faction disguises | |
Crimson Desert (north) | Vania-area back alley | Arkan Leather Helm, Lead Cloth Armor | Crimson Desert raider disguise |
Crimson Desert (south) | Black Dive area back alley | Miscloaked Owl Leather Armor, Miscloaked Owl Plate Helm | Owl-themed scout disguise |
Steel Mountain | Outpost-adjacent back alley | Blinding Arrow faction disguise |
After defeating the lightning Titan, Bara's shop now stocks the Lightning Bolt Plate Boots. The boots round out the lightning-themed plate set when paired with the Ring of Lightning, which was already obtainable from the same vendor.
Patch 1.05.00 makes the decorative gold-bar piles scattered across the world interactable for the first time. Picking one up adds a Crude Gold Bar to inventory, sellable to any vendor for 5 silver. The Vault of Vengeance laser-grid lower chamber and the secret room beneath the Demeniss bell tower hold the largest deposits, with each room yielding several hundred silver if cleared in full. The bars are deliberately positioned as a small money trickle rather than a major payout: roughly 100 silver per 20 bars sold.
A new location to obtain the Pumpkin Head headgear was added near the existing pumpkin patches. The item is a returning seasonal helm; the patch widens its acquisition window beyond limited-time events.
Comrade Trust no longer resets to 10 under certain conditions. This regression had been introduced in Patch 1.04.00 and affected several follower NPCs.
Legendary mounts no longer die immediately upon being summoned under certain conditions. The fix applies to all permanent legendary mounts gained through the Sigil of Solidarity loop.
Multiple boss attack windows, follow-up timings, and stagger thresholds have been retuned across the existing roster ahead of the Reminisce and Resonate modes.
Several skill timing windows and parry recoveries adjusted to keep the new rematch difficulty curve readable.
Guarding damage reduction increased for all weapon types on a successful guard. Block-heavy builds take noticeably less chip damage in 1.05.00 than they did in 1.04.
Force Current travel distance reduced. The character no longer dashes as far when activating Force Current, which had been used for skip-traversal in some boss arenas.
Elemental Turning Slash air-cancel removed. The midair jump-cancel into the final strike of Elemental Turning Slash no longer skips the windup. The skill must now be performed from ground level to chain into volcanic eruption follow-ups.
Frozen status escape fixed. Repeatedly pressing the escape input now reliably frees the character from the immobility associated with the freeze status effect.
Evasive Shot combo into Charot fixed. Comboing into Evasive Shot while casting Charot now triggers correctly. Focus Charot can no longer be used before the skill is learned.
Axium Force aim-while-falling fixed. Axium Force now activates correctly when aiming during a fall.
Bows and ranged attacks now damage staggered bosses. Several boss encounters had a regression where staggered bosses ignored ranged hits; this is corrected.
Endless evade animation fixed. The bug where bosses repeated evade animations under certain conditions has been corrected. The Forgotten General fight in particular played out with the boss perpetually hopping in some Watcher-backpack runs.
Bosses no longer skip stagger states. Several bosses occasionally failed to enter the stagger state expected by the new poise system; this is fixed across the roster.
Damiane piercing light hit detection. Enemies adjacent to Damiane no longer ignore damage when she uses the piercing light skill with a great sword.
Damiane and Oongka fatal-damage auto-recovery fixed. Both characters had a regression where they automatically recovered upon receiving fatal damage. The auto-recovery now only triggers under the intended conditions.
Stamina consumption fix. Stamina is now consistently consumed during fights under all conditions, closing a no-stamina-cost edge case.
Marne Mac monster appearance fix. Hostile Marne Mac monsters now render with their intended appearance.
Crow Pursuit weapon bounce fixed. Weapons no longer bounce midair when the Crow Pursuit Abyss Gear is equipped during certain attack sequences.
Weapon Throw character swap fix. The thrown weapon's appearance now returns correctly when the character is swapped after a throw, closing a path that could leave the player permanently weaponless until reloading.
Walker monster damage cap. Specific walker-type monsters no longer deal disproportionate damage when Vision is worn while a weapon is held.
The patch introduces UI elements for the Memory Fragment menu under Knowledge and the Re-Blockade Frequency selector under Settings. Distant scenery rendering, lighting transitions during dawn and dusk, and several save and load stability issues received targeted fixes. Localization passes were applied to multiple non-English builds.
Streamline SDK dynamic multi-frame generation. A new option appears under Settings then Video for GeForce RTX 50 series cards, providing dynamic multi-frame generation for higher framerates.
Sharpness enhancement option. PlayStation 5 and other consoles gain a Sharpness Enhancement slider under Video Settings.
Save chapter name corrected. Autosaves and manual saves now display the correct chapter name. Save files made under the previous version still show their original chapter label until they are manually re-saved.
Skill menu opens to current character. The skill menu now opens directly to the screen of the character currently being displayed, rather than defaulting to Kliff.
Intuitive teleport path display on world map. The map now displays teleport paths visually, making fast-travel routing readable at a glance.
Journal notification map jump. Selecting a journal notification for a discovered object now navigates the map to its location.
Greymane Camp pet display on minimap. Pets owned by the player now appear on the minimap when the player is in the Greymane Camp.
Salon gift-list lock indicators. Locked items in the salon gift list are now greyed out instead of being silently un-giftable.
Save data delete from loading menu. Save data can now be deleted directly from the loading menu when accessed via the in-game menu. The delete action remains disabled when the load menu is opened from the main menu.
Stormwatch tower marker fix. The Stormwatch Tower no longer continues to display as a separate map marker after liberation.
Inventory currency display fix. The owned-quantity tooltip in the bottom-right of the inventory and the displayed currency total no longer disagree with the actual amounts after loading a save.
Patch 1.05.00 includes a long list of smaller systems and UI improvements alongside the flagship endgame additions.
Crop yield floor. Crop harvesting now consistently yields a minimum of 2 crops per plant regardless of fertilizer or water status. Fertilized and watered crops continue to produce significantly higher yields, but the early-game floor is now meaningful.
Abyss Nexus relocated near Zargon Tank Works. The Abyss Nexus near Zargon Tank Works has been moved to the top of the cliff where the Research Institute is actually located. Players who already activated the original Nexus retain the unlock; the new waypoint must still be acquired on the cliff to use the closer travel point.
Sit and lean separated to D-Pad Down. The interaction inputs for sitting on terrain and leaning on objects, previously sharing the left-stick click, are now bound separately. Down on the D-Pad triggers environment interactions like sitting on a ledge, removing the conflict with cling and lean prompts.
Pet interaction expansion. Carry, lower, and pet interactions are now available for goose and duck pets, matching the existing options for other small animals.
Storage retrieval display fix. Housing items automatically retrieved during a camp expansion are now correctly listed in the Housing Installable UI.
Mission dispatch auto-cancel. Dispatch missions now automatically cancel and refund inputs when conditions change such that the mission can no longer be sustained.
Locked items in Abyss embedding. Embed Abyss Gear and Create Socket actions now support locked items, letting players upgrade gear that they pinned to prevent accidental sale.
Dye highlight visibility. Dyeable surfaces are now highlighted more clearly when the dye preview is active.
Comrade status fix. Comrade status now correctly clears when a follower is not on a mission, no longer displaying In Progress indefinitely.
Livestock sell and butcher fix. Certain livestock that could not be sold or butchered under specific ownership conditions can now be processed normally.
Knowledge entry fix. Several Knowledge entries that could not be acquired under specific conditions now register as expected.
The patch was released a few weeks after Pearl Abyss confirmed that Crimson Desert had sold over five million copies worldwide. The studio framed the 1.05 content drop as a thank-you and as a long-term investment in endgame replay for the existing player base, rather than as a content expansion targeted at new players.
Hyacinth Macaw spawn can be blocked if the Iron Eagle is tamed first. Pearl Abyss has acknowledged the ordering issue but has not yet patched it.
A small number of players reported that ongoing dispatch missions could be canceled with resources and contribution not refunded. This is fixed in Patch 1.05.01.
Pets could not be summoned under certain conditions in early 1.05.00 sessions. Also fixed in Patch 1.05.01.
