Overview
Frozen is an ice-based status effect in Crimson Desert that halts movement and interrupts the target's current action, producing a tactical window for combos. It is distinct from the environmental Ice Buildup cold meter found in frost biomes, though both stem from the cold element.
How It Is Applied
Ice Imbue on weapons
Frost Mantle (AoE pushback unlocked via Path of Trials)
Frost-tipped arrows
Ice boss attacks in the Spire of Frost region
Prolonged exposure to cold weather zones
Effect Details
Frozen is a short-duration hard crowd control effect that locks movement and attack animations. It ends when dodge is pressed or after the duration expires. The alternate Ice Buildup effect (from environmental cold) slows stamina regen and raises stamina consumption rather than locking movement directly.
Resistance and Removal
Repeatedly pressing dodge breaks free when the player is frozen
Cold-resistant armor, Honey Tea, Beer, and Modest Clear Soup (Ice Resistance Lv 2) raise cold tolerance
Bonfires and fire sources restore body temperature
Combos and Interactions
Frozen enemies take full follow-up combo damage. Pairs with heavy attacks and Turning Slash for burst windows. Frost Mantle sets up group freezes for AoE openers.
Notable Enemies and Bosses
The frost boss in Spire of Frost applies freezing attacks. Ice shamans in northern regions and environmental blizzard zones can also apply frozen status to unprepared players.
Tips
Save Ice Imbue for high-stakes interrupt moments rather than sustained damage.
Pack Ice Resistance cooking before expeditions to frost regions.
Mash dodge the instant you see the frost shatter VFX.
Frozen is excellent against fast-attacking bosses where you need to break their offense.
