Major expansion with all 16 Desired Lives, 23 Ambitions across 10 categories, eligibility rules, and trait/ambition/value recommendations
Desired Lives are long-term life goals that Zois can pursue in inZOI. They represent the Zoi's overall aspiration and provide direction and purpose to their daily activities. There are 16 Desired Lives in the game, each with recommended traits, ambitions, values, and hobbies that complement the goal. Alongside Desired Lives, there are 23 Ambitions organized into 10 categories that function as more specific milestones within or outside of the broader Desired Life framework.
Desired Lives are only available to Zois in the Young Adult life stage or older. Younger Zois (Children, Adolescents, and Teenagers) cannot select a Desired Life. Once a Desired Life is chosen, it shapes the Zoi's urge generation, goal tracking, and satisfaction levels. Zois without a Desired Life still function normally but lack the structured goal system and associated benefits.

Recommended trait - the trait that best complements this Desired Life's goals. Having the recommended trait makes certain objectives easier to achieve, but any trait can pursue any Desired Life
Recommended ambitions - specific milestones that align with the Desired Life's theme
Recommended values - moral and personal values that develop through gameplay and support the Desired Life
Recommended preferences - hobbies and activity preferences that complement the Desired Life
Progress toward a Desired Life is tracked through a combination of skill levels, completed ambitions, career milestones, relationship goals, and lifestyle choices. Achieving a Desired Life provides significant satisfaction to the Zoi and can influence their karma and long-term emotional state.
Each Desired Life is described below with its core theme and alignment:
A Zoi who wants to be at the center of every gathering and known by everyone in Dowon, Bliss Bay, or wherever they live. This Desired Life rewards frequent social events, a large friend network, and high Social need maintenance. The recommended trait is Socialite or Entertainer. Aligned ambitions focus on hosting parties, meeting new Zois, and building relationships.
A Zoi dedicated to perfecting the art of cooking. This Desired Life involves mastering all cooking recipes, running a successful restaurant, and feeding the community. The recommended trait is Perfectionist or Explorer. Ambitions include reaching maximum cooking skill, preparing every recipe, and earning recognition for culinary excellence.
A Zoi focused on creative expression through art, music, and design. This Desired Life rewards developing creative skills, playing instruments, designing clothing, and sharing creations on the Canvas. The recommended trait is Visionary or Dreamer. Ambitions focus on mastering creative skills and gaining recognition for artistic works.
A Zoi determined to reach the top of their chosen career path. This Desired Life rewards promotions, salary increases, and professional development. The recommended trait is Go-Getter or Leader. Ambitions include reaching the highest position in a career, earning a set amount of money, and building professional relationships.
A Zoi devoted to learning and intellectual pursuits. This Desired Life rewards attending university, reading, researching, and maximizing knowledge-based skills. The recommended trait is Scholar. Ambitions include completing university degrees, reaching maximum levels in multiple skills, and mentoring other Zois in their area of expertise.
A Zoi whose primary goal is building and nurturing a family. This Desired Life rewards having children through pregnancy, maintaining strong family relationships, and ensuring children develop well. The recommended trait is Volunteer or Sentinel. Ambitions focus on raising children successfully, achieving family milestones, and building a household that supports all members.
A Zoi focused on finding and maintaining deep romantic love. This Desired Life rewards relationship milestones, romantic interactions, dates, and building an intimate partnership. The recommended trait is Charmer. Ambitions include reaching maximum relationship level with a romantic partner, completing romantic activities, and sustaining a long-term partnership.
A Zoi dedicated to physical health and athletic achievement. This Desired Life rewards fitness activities, swimming, surfing, and maintaining peak physical condition. The recommended trait is Adventurer. Ambitions include maximizing fitness-related skills and maintaining high Energy and physical needs over extended periods.
A Zoi devoted to improving their community and helping neighbors. This Desired Life rewards positive karma, community service, and building strong neighborly relationships. The recommended trait is Social Activist or Volunteer. Ambitions focus on reaching high karma levels, helping a set number of Zois, and organizing community social events.
A Zoi fascinated by technology and innovation. This Desired Life rewards using the 3D Printer, mastering technical skills, and creating custom items. The recommended trait is Visionary or Scholar. Ambitions include crafting a set number of items, mastering tech-related skills, and innovating within the household.
A Zoi drawn to the outdoors, gardening, animals, and natural environments. This Desired Life rewards spending time outside, cultivating gardens, caring for pets, and exploring natural areas in Dowon and Bliss Bay. The recommended trait is Explorer or Dreamer. Ambitions include growing every plant type, forming bonds with animals, and spending a set number of hours outdoors.
A Zoi focused on accumulating wealth and material success. This Desired Life rewards earning money through careers, shopping for luxury items, owning premium lots, and driving expensive cars. The recommended trait is Go-Getter. Ambitions include reaching specific wealth thresholds and acquiring luxury possessions.
Similar to Life of the Party but focused more on quantity and breadth of relationships rather than event hosting. This Desired Life rewards knowing many Zois, maintaining friendships across different neighborhoods, and being well-connected. The recommended trait is Socialite or Charmer. Ambitions focus on maintaining a large number of active friendships simultaneously.
A Zoi who seeks calm, stability, and contentment. This Desired Life rewards maintaining balanced needs, living in a well-maintained home, and achieving emotional harmony. The recommended trait is Mediator or Dreamer. Ambitions include spending extended periods in positive emotional states and avoiding major crises.
A Zoi passionate about interior design, furniture arrangement, and making their lot beautiful. This Desired Life rewards Build Mode activities, decorating, and maintaining a well-designed living space. The recommended trait is Perfectionist or Individualist. Ambitions include designing rooms with high comfort and aesthetic ratings.
A Zoi drawn to excitement, risk, and novel experiences. This Desired Life rewards trying every available activity in the game, traveling across all neighborhoods, and pushing boundaries. The recommended trait is Adventurer. Ambitions include trying every hobby, visiting every location, and experiencing every possible emotion.
Ambitions are specific, trackable goals organized into 10 categories. There are 23 Ambitions total. Each Ambition belongs to a category and can be pursued independently or as part of a Desired Life. Categories include:
Social - ambitions related to relationships, friendships, and social events
Career - ambitions related to job advancement and professional achievements
Creative - ambitions related to artistic skills, instruments, and creative output
Knowledge - ambitions related to skills, university, and learning
Family - ambitions related to family building, pregnancy, and parenting
Romance - ambitions related to romantic relationships and partnerships
Fitness - ambitions related to physical health, fitness, and athletic activities
Wealth - ambitions related to earning money and acquiring possessions
Community - ambitions related to karma, helping others, and community service
Lifestyle - ambitions related to personal expression, hobbies, and quality of life
A Zoi selects their Desired Life through their personal menu once they reach the Young Adult life stage. The selection screen displays all 16 options with their recommended traits and ambitions. Zois created as Young Adults, Adults, Middle-Aged, or Seniors can choose a Desired Life immediately after creation. Zois who age into Young Adult naturally receive a prompt to select one when the transition occurs.
Players should consider the Zoi's trait when selecting a Desired Life. While any trait can pursue any Desired Life, matching the recommended trait provides advantages: urges align more naturally with the goal, skill gain rates complement the required activities, and the Zoi's autonomous behavior (when the [T] toggle is on) tends to make choices that progress toward the Desired Life without player intervention.
Having a Desired Life does not restrict what a Zoi can do. It provides direction, not limitation. A Career Climber can still spend evenings cooking, gardening, or socializing. The Desired Life system generates relevant urges, tracks milestones, and provides satisfaction bonuses when progress is made. It functions as an optional guiding framework layered on top of the open-ended simulation, giving purpose-driven players a structured path while allowing sandbox-style players to pursue whatever activities interest them.
