Overview
The Jetpack is a traversal device in Crimson Desert revealed in the official launch trailer released on March 12, 2026. In the trailer, Kliff is seen wearing heavy armor and soaring through the skies with a jetpack strapped to his back, flying at speeds significantly faster than the Crow's Wings glider would allow. The jetpack joins an already extensive roster of traversal options that includes horses, dragons, the mech mount, and grappling hooks.
How it works
Based on the launch trailer footage, the jetpack provides powered flight rather than passive gliding. While the Crow's Wings require Kliff to jump from a high point and glide downward (with a stamina cost while airborne), the jetpack appears to allow sustained upward and horizontal flight. The character in the trailer is shown soaring at considerable speed across open terrain while wearing full heavy armor.
Comparison with Crow's Wings
Feature | Crow's Wings | Jetpack |
|---|---|---|
Type | Passive glider | Powered flight device |
Speed | Moderate gliding speed | Significantly faster |
Altitude | Can only descend from high points | Appears to allow ascending and sustained horizontal flight |
Availability | Granted early in the main story | Likely acquired later in the game |
Stamina cost | Drains stamina while airborne; wings disappear if stamina reaches zero | Fuel or stamina cost not yet confirmed |
Armor compatibility | Used with the Witch Crow's cloak | Shown functioning in heavy armor |
Context within traversal options
Pearl Abyss has built Crimson Desert around layered mobility. Players accumulate traversal tools over the course of the game: climbing, grappling, gliding with the Crow's Wings, riding horses, taming exotic mounts, piloting the mech, and now the jetpack. Each tool personalizes how players approach exploration and environmental puzzle-solving across Pywel's varied terrain.
The jetpack was one of several surprises in the launch trailer, alongside new weapon types and previously unseen boss encounters. Its inclusion suggests that late-game traversal becomes considerably faster and more flexible than the early-game options.
What we know so far
The jetpack was shown on Kliff wearing heavy armor, suggesting it is not restricted to light equipment loadouts
Flight speed appears significantly faster than the Crow's Wings glider
The jetpack is separate from the mech mount, which has its own hover jets and rocket weaponry
Acquisition details (when and how the jetpack is obtained) have not been officially confirmed yet
Whether the jetpack has a fuel gauge, stamina cost, or cooldown is not yet known
