Aerial Combat in Crimson Desert refers to the set of Flight and aerial follow-up skills shared by all three playable characters. Contrary to a common misconception, flight is not Kliff-exclusive: Damiane and Oongka both get their own flight tools (glider and rocket pack respectively). Patch 1.03.00 added further parity by giving Damiane and Oongka skills that match Kliff's traversal and combat kit.

Who Flies How
Character | Flight Type | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
Glide | Chapter 1 "Traces" after speaking to the Woman in White | |
Glider | Automatically on joining the roster in Chapter 3 | |
Rocket pack | Chapter 8 faction quest (Grimnir's letter) |
Core Stats
Flight costs 25 Stamina per second for all three characters.
Flight is glide-based, not soaring. Altitude is lost over time unless chained with skills like Aerial Force Palm.
Swift Flight is the Level 2 upgrade; it increases speed at the cost of higher stamina drain.
Flight lives in the Health branch of the skill tree.
Kliff's Aerial Kit
Aerial Force Palm: the main vertical traversal tool; up to three mid-air activations to reset altitude.
Aerial Roll: short evasive roll during flight.
Aerial Stab: mid-air thrust attack. Unlocked at Stab Level 3. Input: R1/RB + Triangle/Y after jump, during a fall, or after Aerial Force Palm.
Aerial Maneuver: airborne repositioning skill.
Aerial Swing: swinging melee attack from the air.
Focused Aerial Roll: new Patch 1.03.00 addition. Use Focus during flight, then press dodge. Requires Focus Lv. 3, Flight Lv. 2, and Aerial Roll.
Patch 1.03.00 Parity Changes
Patch 1.03.00 gave Damiane and Oongka new aerial and utility skills so that the three characters feel closer in open-world combat:
Axiom Force and Nature's Snare were added to Damiane and Oongka.
Shield Toss (Damiane) now functions like Force Palm for puzzle interactions.
Scatter Shot (Oongka) now functions like Force Palm.
Skystep (Damiane) and Vertical Flight (Oongka) received control input adjustments.
Combat and Lock-On
Flight shares the Stamina bar with dodges and heavy attacks. Pick your moments; extended glides will leave you empty at the wrong time.
As of Patch 1.03.00, hard lock-on against bosses is maintained from longer distances, improving camera tracking during aerial approaches. Lock-on was also removed from a handful of very large bosses where it hurt readability.
Aerial skills preserve momentum when chained; Focused Aerial Roll into Aerial Force Palm into a downward Aerial Stab is a common high-damage chain.
