Quest Details
Property | Details |
|---|---|
Type | Faction Quest |
Chapter | Chapter 4 |
Prerequisite | Complete "A Chunk of Meat" quest with Naira |
Reward | Brown Dog pet companion |
How to Start
After completing "A Chunk of Meat" with Naira, she mentions feeling sympathetic toward a stray dog. Once Naira leaves, you can begin the pet-taming process with the dog she discovered.
Pet Taming Mechanics
The dog requires 100 Trust points to become your registered pet. Trust is built through two actions:
Action | Trust Gained | Daily Cap |
|---|---|---|
Feeding | +10 per feeding | +35 per day |
Petting | +5 per interaction | +25 per day |
Optimal Strategy
Feed the dog to reach the daily +35 Trust cap.
Pet it three additional times.
Rest for 12 hours or until the next day.
Repeat the cycle until reaching 100 Trust (takes about 2 days with combined methods).
Pet Benefits
Once registered, the brown dog becomes a permanent companion. You can summon it from your inventory like a Horse. The pet automatically loots defeated enemies during combat and picks up items for you, streamlining the looting process.
Notes
The pet system extends beyond this quest. You can tame stray dogs and cats found throughout settlements in Pywel.
All pets require 100 Trust before they can be registered.
Feeding requires meat items in your inventory.
Completion
The dog that lost its owner was brought in. It can sense enemies and bark, making it the perfect new "fang."
