House Alfonso Quests
Complete walkthrough for all three House Alfonso faction quests in Crimson Desert, including Transcendent Structure, House of Spears, and On the Speartip Once Again. Covers quest objectives, manual part locations, the Bleed Warspike Commander boss fight, and all rewards.
Overview
House Alfonso is the baronial house of Hernand, famous across the duchy for its unbroken lineage of spearmasters. The family preserves a combat manual that compiles the spearfighting techniques refined by successive heads of the house, making it both a martial tradition and an heirloom of enormous practical value. Their seat of power is Lion Crest Manor, located northwest of the City of Hernand, where Baron Adrian Alfonso hosts archery and swordsmanship tournaments.
The House Alfonso faction quests form a three-part quest line that explores the family's spearmaster heritage and culminates in the liberation of Fort Warspike from the Bleed Bandits. These quests are classified as Hernand faction quests and reward the player with unique equipment, crafting materials, and Contribution XP toward the Hernand region. Faction quests are not missable and can be returned to even across chapters, so there is no pressure to complete them within a specific window.
How to Start
To begin the House Alfonso quest line, travel to the area outside the City of Hernand and speak with Baron Alfonso's servants. They direct you toward Lion Crest Manor, which sits on a hillside northwest of the city. Head up the sloping path to reach the manor grounds. Enter the manor's main building and proceed to the double-door room to the right of the staircase. Inside, you will meet Baron Adrian Alfonso and receive your first assignment.
Like all faction quests in Crimson Desert, you need a neutral or better relationship with the faction for the residents to offer quests. If you have not done anything to antagonize House Alfonso, the quests should be available once you reach the Hernand region during Chapter 2 of the main story.
Quest Chain Summary
Quest | Sub-Quests | Location | Rewards |
|---|---|---|---|
Transcendent Structure | Single quest | House Alfonso territory | Dark Fog Lantern x1 |
House of Spears | Inadequacy, Graham Alfonso, The Weight of Legacy | Lion Crest Manor, Duskwood Cave, Fort Warspike | |
On the Speartip Once Again | Piercing Spear, The Crimson-Stained Speartip | Warspike outposts, Fort Warspike | Iron Ore x5, Copper Ore x3 |
Quest 1: Transcendent Structure
Transcendent Structure is the introductory quest in the House Alfonso quest line. Baron Alfonso or one of his retainers tasks Kliff with investigating a peculiar structure on behalf of the house's scouts. The assignment involves traveling to the designated site within House Alfonso's territory, examining the structure in question, and reporting your findings back.
Objectives
Speak with the quest giver at Lion Crest Manor or the nearby area.
Travel to the marked location and examine the structure.
Report your findings to the Alfonso scouts or retainers.
Reward
Dark Fog Lantern x1 : A special lantern variant. Lanterns in Crimson Desert serve as light sources in dark areas, reveal hidden Memory Fragments, and help solve puzzles. The Dark Fog Lantern is a unique version rewarded exclusively through this quest.
Walkthrough Notes
This quest is short and straightforward compared to the two that follow. It serves as an introduction to House Alfonso and their territories. There is no boss fight or complex puzzle involved. Simply follow the quest markers, interact with the structure, and return to the quest giver to collect your reward.
Quest 2: House of Spears
House of Spears is the core quest in the Alfonso quest line and the one most closely tied to the family's identity as spearmasters. The quest chain consists of three sequential sub-quests: Inadequacy, Graham Alfonso, and The Weight of Legacy. Over the course of these steps, you will meet Baron Alfonso, track down his son Graham, recover scattered parts of the family's legendary spear combat manual, and ultimately liberate Fort Warspike from the Bleed Bandits.
Sub-Quest Breakdown
Sub-Quest | Objective | Key Location |
|---|---|---|
Inadequacy | Meet Baron Alfonso at Lion Crest Manor | |
Graham Alfonso | Find and assist Graham Alfonso near Duskwood Cave | Supply tent southwest of Duskwood Cave |
The Weight of Legacy | Collect three manual parts and liberate Fort Warspike |
Inadequacy
Speak with Baron Alfonso's servants outside the City of Hernand. They tell you that the baron is looking for capable fighters to help with a problem. Follow their directions northwest to Lion Crest Manor. The manor sits on a hillside and is visible from the road. Enter the main building, head to the double-door room on the right side of the staircase, and speak with Baron Adrian Alfonso.
The Baron explains that his family's spear combat manual has been scattered and parts of it are now in dangerous territory. He needs someone to recover the missing pieces. He also mentions his son, Graham, who was sent ahead to scout the situation but has not reported back. The Baron asks you to find Graham first.
Graham Alfonso
Graham Alfonso can be found at a supply tent southwest of Duskwood Cave. Travel there and approach the tent. Before you can speak with Graham, a group of Bleed Bandits attacks the camp. You must defeat all the bandits in the immediate area before the conversation with Graham can proceed.
The fight is manageable with standard melee combat. The Bleed Bandits here are typical rank-and-file enemies; none have special abilities. Once the area is clear, speak with Graham. He tells you that the manual parts are scattered across three locations in House Alfonso's territory, all of which are under threat from the Bleed Bandits. He asks you to retrieve them.
The Weight of Legacy
This is the most involved sub-quest in the House of Spears chain. You need to collect three parts of the Alfonso family's combat manual from locations spread across the Warspike area. The manual parts can be collected in any order.
Manual Part Locations
Part | Location | Exact Position |
|---|---|---|
First Part | In a treasure chest beside the logs at the workshop | |
Second Part | Inside a shack on the ranch grounds | |
Third Part | On the wooden deck inside the inner camp of the fort |
Be prepared to fight Bleed Bandits at each location. The bandits have occupied all three sites, so you will encounter resistance when approaching. The fights at Warspike Spearmaker and Phoniel Ranch are relatively small skirmishes with a handful of enemies each.
The third manual part at Fort Warspike requires more effort. Fort Warspike is one of the key forts of western Hernand, originally built with Everfrost at its back to secure the western border and prevent bandits from descending the mountain. The Bleed Bandits have seized it and turned it into their stronghold. To reach the wooden deck in the inner camp where the manual lies, you need to fight through the fort's defenders. Clear enemies until the occupation percentage bar drops to zero, then collect the final manual part from the deck.
After collecting all three parts, return to Baron Alfonso at Lion Crest Manor. Present the assembled manual to complete House of Spears.
Reward: Alfonso Spear
Completing House of Spears awards the Alfonso Spear, a two-handed spear named after the noble family. The weapon's stats are solid for mid-game progression.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Two-Handed Spear |
Attack | 13 |
Critical Rate | +1 |
Abyss Core Slots | 5 |
Sell Price | 4.80 Silver |
The Alfonso Spear can also be crafted independently at a Blacksmith using Iron Ore x7 and Copper Ore x3, provided you have read the crafting manual "Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 1." However, completing the quest is the fastest and cheapest way to obtain it.
Quest 3: On the Speartip Once Again
On the Speartip Once Again is the final quest in the House Alfonso quest line. Where House of Spears focused on recovering the family's combat manual, this quest is about reclaiming House Alfonso's territory outright. The Bleed Bandits still occupy the outposts surrounding Fort Warspike, and the quest tasks you with driving them out entirely. The chain culminates in a boss fight against the Bleed Warspike Commander.
Sub-Quest Breakdown
Sub-Quest | Objective |
|---|---|
Piercing Spear | Defeat enemies at five Warspike-area outposts until the enemy percentage bar reaches zero |
The Crimson-Stained Speartip | Defeat enemies at Fort Warspike and beat the Bleed Warspike Commander |
Piercing Spear
This sub-quest requires you to clear Bleed Bandits from five locations across the Warspike area. Each location has a progress bar that tracks the enemy percentage. You need to defeat enough enemies at each outpost to bring the bar down to zero before moving on. The five locations are:
Warspike Spearmaker : The spear workshop where the Alfonso family produces their weapons.
Phoniel Ranch : A ranch in House Alfonso's territory.
Warspike East Gate : The eastern entrance to the Fort Warspike complex.
Warspike South Gate : The southern approach to Fort Warspike.
Warspike North Gate : The northern gate of the Warspike fortifications.
You can tackle these five locations in any order. The enemies are standard Bleed Bandits at each outpost, with no special mechanics. The three gate locations tend to have more enemies than the Spearmaker or Ranch, so save those for when you are warmed up. Use the terrain to your advantage; gateway chokepoints let you funnel enemies into narrow spaces where area-of-effect skills are most effective.
The Crimson-Stained Speartip
After clearing all five outposts, the final sub-quest sends you to Fort Warspike itself for a boss encounter. Fight through the remaining Bleed Bandits inside the fort until the Bleed Warspike Commander appears.
Boss: Bleed Warspike Commander
The Commander is a ranged boss who uses a multi-shot, long-range weapon. This sets him apart from most of the melee-focused Bleed Bandit encounters you have been fighting throughout the quest line. Expect rapid volleys of projectiles that cover a wide area.
Combat Strategy
Close the distance quickly. The Commander excels at range. Sprint toward him or use traversal skills to close the gap as fast as possible. Fighting from a distance plays to his strengths.
Dodge sideways, not backward. His multi-shot attack fires in a forward cone. Sidestepping gives you a better chance of avoiding the spread than backpedaling.
Punish after volleys. The Commander has brief recovery windows between his multi-shot barrages. Wait for him to finish firing, then dash in with your strongest skills before retreating.
Watch for repositioning. When you get close, the Commander will try to create distance again. Be ready to chase him down immediately rather than giving him space to reset.
Bring recovery items. The multi-shot attacks can chip your health quickly if you get caught in them. Stock up on recovery items before this fight.
Possible Skill Drops
During or after this boss fight, you may learn one of the following skills:
Multi-Shot : A ranged skill that fires multiple projectiles in quick succession.
Explosive Evasive Shot : A defensive ranged skill that combines an evasive maneuver with an explosive projectile.
These skill drops are not guaranteed. Whether you acquire them depends on the Watch and Learn system, which lets Kliff pick up techniques from enemies he fights. Using ranged weapons during the encounter or observing the Commander's attacks closely may increase your chances.
Rewards
Iron Ore x5 : A key crafting material used in weapon and armor recipes at the Blacksmith.
Copper Ore x3 : Another essential crafting material. Combined with the Iron Ore, these materials are enough to craft additional weapons or armor pieces.
Hernand Contribution XP for completing the quest and driving the Bleed Bandits out of Alfonso territory.

Connection to the Bleed Bandits
The House Alfonso quest line is deeply intertwined with the Bleed Bandits, the criminal organization that has taken over much of the Warspike area. The Bleed Bandits are led by Walter Lanford, a former nobleman from House Lanford who turned to banditry. Walter's forces have seized Fort Warspike, one of House Alfonso's most strategically important fortifications, and occupy multiple outposts in the surrounding territory.
Throughout the House of Spears and On the Speartip Once Again quests, you systematically dismantle the Bleed Bandit presence in Alfonso territory. This connects thematically to the House Roberts quest line as well, which also involves fighting the Bleed Bandits at their strongholds in other parts of Hernand.
Tips and Strategies
Start House of Spears early. The Alfonso Spear (ATK 13, Crit +1, 5 Abyss Core Slots) is a solid mid-game two-handed weapon. Picking it up early gives you a reliable spear for progression. If you prefer crafting your own weapons, the same spear can be made at a Blacksmith with Iron Ore x7 and Copper Ore x3 after reading the "Two Handed Weapons of the World Vol. 1" manual.
Prepare for the Bleed Warspike Commander. This is a ranged boss in a quest line that has been melee-focused up to that point. Bring extra recovery items and practice your dodge timing for multi-shot patterns before engaging.
Use chokepoints at the gates. The three gate outposts (East, South, North) during Piercing Spear have narrow entranceways. Lure enemies into these bottlenecks to hit multiple targets with sweeping attacks or area-of-effect skills.
Collect the manual parts efficiently. During The Weight of Legacy, all three manual part locations are in the same general area west of Hernand. Plan a route that visits Warspike Spearmaker, Phoniel Ranch, and Fort Warspike in sequence to minimize backtracking.
Watch for skill drops. The Bleed Warspike Commander can teach you Multi-Shot or Explosive Evasive Shot via the Watch and Learn system. Pay attention to the commander's attack patterns during the fight, as observing enemy techniques is part of how the system works.
Complete all three quests for full Contribution. Each quest in the chain awards Contribution XP toward the Hernand region. Combined, the full quest line provides a meaningful boost toward earning rewards at the Contribution Shop.
Faction quests in Crimson Desert are not missable. If you are underleveled for the Bleed Warspike Commander, leave and come back after progressing the main story or completing other faction quests.
The Iron Ore x5 and Copper Ore x3 rewarded by On the Speartip Once Again are exactly enough (combined with 2 more Iron Ore) to craft an additional Alfonso Spear or Warspike Spear at the Blacksmith if you already have the crafting manual.
