Overview
Skiploom is a Grass/Flying-type Pokemon available in Pokemon Pokopia through the More Spores for Hoppip limited-time event. It is the middle evolution in the Hoppip line, between Hoppip and Jumpluff. Skiploom has the Grow specialty, allowing it to accelerate plant growth in its vicinity.
Grow Specialty
The Grow specialty is shared with several other Pokemon including Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, and Hoppip. Pokemon with the Grow specialty accelerate plant growth in their assigned area, making crops and flowers mature faster. This directly supports farming and gardening activities.
How to Obtain
Skiploom is only available during the More Spores for Hoppip event (March 10-25, 2026). To befriend Skiploom, you need to build the Field-Trip Friends habitat, which requires three event furniture items: a Flower Backpack, a Lunch Box, and a Hoppip Water Bottle. All three items can be purchased from the event shop at any Pokemon Center using Cotton Spores collected from Dream Islands during the event period.
Event Habitat: Field-Trip Friends
Required Item | Cotton Spore Cost |
|---|---|
Flower Backpack | 10 Cotton Spores |
Lunch Box | 10 Cotton Spores |
Hoppip Water Bottle | 5 Cotton Spores |
Place all three items together to form the Field-Trip Friends habitat. Once the habitat is set up, Skiploom will appear and can be befriended.
System Clock Workaround
Because the event runs on the Nintendo Switch 2's internal system clock rather than a live server, setting your console's date to any day between March 9 and March 24, 2026, will activate the event regardless of the actual calendar date. This means Skiploom is not permanently missable. See the Limited-Time Events article for full details on the clock workaround.
Tips
Prioritize buying the three habitat items (Flower Backpack, Lunch Box, Water Bottle) early in the event so you can befriend Skiploom and start benefiting from its Grow specialty. Skiploom functions identically to other Grow Pokemon, so if you already have several Grow specialists, Skiploom adds incremental farming speed but is not essential for gameplay.
