Overview
Garbodor is a Poison-type Pokemon that can be befriended in Pokemon Pokopia. Like its pre-evolution Trubbish, Garbodor has the Recycle specialty. Having both Trubbish and Garbodor in your town increases the overall rate at which waste materials are converted into useful crafting resources.
Recycle Specialty
The Recycle specialty converts waste items into useful crafting materials. Garbodor performs the same two conversions as Trubbish:
Input Material | Output Material | Use |
|---|---|---|
Nonburnable Glass | Iron Ore | Smelt into Iron Ingots at a furnace |
Wastepaper | Paper | Furniture recipes, building components, quest items |
Iron Ore is a critical intermediate material. Once smelted into Iron Ingots at a furnace, they are used in many advanced building recipes, including the four-floor reconstruction of the huge building in Sparkling Skylands. Paper is used in furniture recipes and some building components, particularly items crafted in the later stages of the game.
Advantages Over Trubbish
While both Garbodor and Trubbish perform the same Recycle conversions, having both means your town processes waste materials faster. If you accumulate large quantities of glass and wastepaper (common when farming Dream Islands regularly), a second recycler prevents material backlogs. Garbodor and Trubbish can be placed in different areas of your town to cover more ground.
How to Befriend
Create the appropriate habitat to attract Garbodor. Check the Habitat Dex at any Pokemon Center PC for the specific habitat configuration. Garbodor requires a different habitat setup than Trubbish, so you can attract both independently.
Tips
Place Garbodor near storage areas where glass and wastepaper accumulate. Wastepaper is particularly common on the Sky Dream Island (accessed via the Dragonite Doll), so having a dedicated recycler for wastepaper near your main base saves trips. Glass is common in Bleak Beach mining areas. For maximum efficiency, pair Garbodor with Trubbish in the same region so both are processing waste simultaneously.
