Overview
Muk is a Poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Sludge Pokemon (Dex #092). It stands 3'11" tall and weighs 66.1 lbs. Like Grimer, Muk carries the Litter specialty and produces Nonburnable Garbage as a passive resource. The key difference is that Muk is a Rare spawn in its habitat, making it harder to find than its pre-evolution counterpart.
The Pokedex describes Muk: "Smells so awful, it can cause fainting. Through degeneration of its nose, it lost its sense of smell." In the main series, Muk evolves from Grimer at level 38. In Pokopia, evolution is not a mechanic, so Muk must be befriended separately through the same Marsh Fishing Spot habitat where Grimer also appears.
Habitat
Muk appears in the Marsh Fishing Spot habitat (#186). The habitat description reads: "Pokemon live in marshlands too! Try casting your line into some swampy water sometime."
Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Fishing Rod | 1 | Crafted at a workbench |
Seat (any) | 1 | Any seat variant works |
Muddy Water | 1 | Found in swampy areas or crafted |
Three Pokemon share the Marsh Fishing Spot habitat: Grimer at Common rarity, Muk at Rare rarity, and Clodsire (#118) at Rare rarity. Since Muk is a Rare spawn, you may need to visit the habitat several times before encountering it.
Specialty: Litter
Muk has the Litter specialty. Pokemon with Litter will drop useful materials near their homes. In Muk's case, it produces Nonburnable Garbage as its litter item, the same resource that Grimer drops. Station Muk near a Pokemon with the Recycle specialty (such as Koffing or Weezing) to convert the garbage into Iron Ore or other materials.

Tips
Muk and Grimer both produce Nonburnable Garbage. If you want to maximize your garbage output for recycling, station both of them in the same area near a Recycle Pokemon.
Since Muk spawns at Rare rarity, you may encounter Grimer or Clodsire more frequently. Be patient and keep visiting the Marsh Fishing Spot habitat.
Muk and Grimer share nearly identical preferences, both favoring Dark environments and Bitter flavors. The only difference is that Muk likes colorful stuff while Grimer prefers containers.
Decorate Muk's area with garbage items, spooky decorations, shiny objects, and colorful items to boost its Comfort Level.
