Oddish

Overview

Oddish is a Grass/Poison-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Weed Pokemon (Dex #013). Known by its scientific name Oddium wanderus, this small plant Pokemon is said to cover distances as far as 1,000 feet when night falls, walking on its two roots. Oddish carries the Grow specialty, making it a helpful companion for accelerating plant growth on your island.

Habitat

Oddish can be found in the following habitat:

The Tall Grass habitat (#001) is one of the simplest habitats to build in the game. Use Water Gun to revive four patches of dry tall grass near each other, and Oddish will appear as a common visitor alongside the Kanto starters.

Location

Oddish is found in Withered Wasteland, the starting region of the game. Because it shares the Tall Grass habitat with the three Kanto starters, players will often encounter Oddish very early in their adventure.

How to Befriend

After Oddish appears at the Tall Grass habitat, interact with it to start a conversation. Oddish will present a request that you need to complete before it officially becomes your friend. Completing the request allows Oddish to move into the habitat and contribute its Grow specialty to the surrounding area. Since Oddish appears as a Common Pokemon, it should not take long for one to show up after the habitat is built.

Specialty: Grow

Oddish has the Grow specialty. Pokemon with Grow accelerate the growth of nearby plants, crops, flowers, and trees. Station Oddish near your farms or orchards to speed up crop cycles and tree maturation. This is especially useful early in the game when resources are scarce and waiting for crops to grow can slow progress.

Preferences

Oddish prefers a humid environment. Raise the humidity around its habitat by adding water features, watering the ground, and placing nature-themed decorations. Furnishing its habitat with items that match its favorites will increase its Comfort Level and improve productivity.

Evolution

Oddish is part of a branching evolution line. It evolves into Gloom, which can then evolve into either Vileplume or Bellossom. This branching evolution path gives players flexibility in choosing a final evolution that fits their needs: Vileplume gains the Litter specialty on top of Grow, while Bellossom gains the Hype specialty.

Tips

• Oddish is one of the earliest Grow Pokemon you can befriend. Station it near crops right away to speed up your farming output.

• If you need a humid habitat for Oddish, use Water Gun on the ground around the habitat to raise moisture levels.

• Consider evolving Oddish into Vileplume for the additional Litter specialty, or into Bellossom for the Hype specialty.

• Oddish shares the Tall Grass habitat with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, so building this habitat attracts multiple useful Pokemon at once.
