Overview
Event Pokemon are species that can only be obtained during Limited-Time Events in Pokemon Pokopia. These Pokemon cannot be befriended through normal habitat building outside their event window. Each event introduces a unique Pokemon (or evolution line) alongside event-specific activities and rewards.
The game launched with 300 numbered Pokemon in the standard Pokedex. Event Pokemon are tracked separately; together with the seven unique NPC Pokemon (Peakychu, Mosslax, Smearguru, Tinkmaster, DJ Rotom, Chef Dente, Professor Tangrowth), the total available species count is higher than the 300 standard Pokedex entries.

Event Mechanics
Notification: When an event begins, you receive a notification at the Pokemon Center. The event Pokemon appears near the Pokemon Center to introduce the event.
Event Currency: Each event has a unique collectible (Cotton Spores for Hoppip, Red Crystal Fragments for Sableye) found on Dream Islands or in the overworld.
Event Shop: Event Pokemon set up a temporary shop inside the Pokemon Center, selling event-exclusive furniture and decorations in exchange for event currency.
Requirement: Your Pokemon Center must be fully rebuilt before event Pokemon will appear.
Do Event Pokemon Return?
As of March 2026, The Pokemon Company has not officially confirmed whether past events will repeat. The Hoppip event has ended and its Pokemon are currently unobtainable. Players who missed an event should watch for official announcements about potential reruns.
Tips
Start collecting event currency as soon as the event begins. Some events require large quantities (Sableye needs many Red Crystal Fragments).
Prioritize befriending the event Pokemon before buying event shop items. The Pokemon is the rarest reward.
Events are based on the Nintendo Switch 2 system clock. Setting your clock forward can trigger events early, but this may have unintended side effects on daily resets.
Buy all event-exclusive furniture before the event ends. These items cannot be obtained afterward.
