Overview
The Sableye Event is the second limited-time event in Pokemon Pokopia, running from April 29 to May 13, 2026. It introduces Sableye, a Dark/Ghost-type Pokemon from Generation III known as the Darkness Pokemon. Players collect Red Crystal Fragments from caves on Dream Islands and exchange them for camping-themed furniture items at the event shop. Sableye is event-exclusive and cannot be obtained outside this event period.
Event Dates
Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Start Date | April 29, 2026, 5:00 AM (NS2 system time) |
End Date | May 13, 2026, 4:59 AM (NS2 system time) |
Duration | Approximately two weeks |
Clock Basis | Nintendo Switch 2 system clock; internet is not required |

How to Start
When the event begins, you receive a notification that there is a Pokemon that's the talk of the town at the Pokemon Center. Travel to your Pokemon Center and speak to Sableye standing in front of the building. After the interaction, Sableye enters the Pokemon Center to establish the event shop. Your Pokemon Center must be fully rebuilt before Sableye will appear.
Sableye appears in front of every Pokemon Center that the player has built. After befriending Ditto, Sableye sets up its shop counter inside, displacing the Pokemon that was occupying that space previously.
Red Crystal Fragment Collection
Red Crystal Fragments are the event currency. They are found inside caves on Dream Islands. Use the Rock Smash move to break Red Crystal Clusters, which drop Red Crystal Fragments. Each cluster usually grants 4 fragments. You can also use the Cut move to break clusters, though it takes longer than Rock Smash.
3D Printing Alternative
If you would rather not farm caves, there is another way to acquire Red Crystal Clusters. Photograph a Red Crystal Cluster using the camera, then visit any Pokemon Center to 3D print copies of it. Each printed cluster costs 1 Rare Pokemetal ingot. This is useful for players who have stockpiled Rare Pokemetal and want to supplement their fragment income without additional cave runs.
Best Dream Islands for Farming
The best Dream Islands for farming Red Crystal Fragments are:
Dream Island | Access Method | Why It's Good |
|---|---|---|
Rock Peak Dream Island | More caves and caverns where Red Crystal Clusters spawn | |
Volcanic Dream Island | Abundant cave areas with many breakable clusters |
Provide dolls to Drifloon to access different Dream Islands. Clefairy and Arcanine dolls grant access to the islands listed above, which have the highest concentration of cave areas.
Mining Tips
Breaking Red Crystal Clusters requires the Rock Smash move (or Cut, at a slower pace). To make mining faster and easier, consider these strategies:
Tip | Details |
|---|---|
LearnRollout | Available after befriending Graveler in Rocky Ridges. Rollout lets you barrel through multiple clusters in quick succession. |
Eat a Hamburger Steak | This meal boosts your mining efficiency, making each hit more effective. The Hamburger Steak recipe requires freeing Chef Dente first. |
Use 3D printing | Photograph clusters and print copies at any Pokemon Center for 1 Rare Pokemetal ingot each, converting stored materials into fragments without extra exploration. |
Event Shop
Exchange Red Crystal Fragments at the Pokemon Center for camping-themed items. All items have unlimited stock, so there is no rush to buy everything at once. You can purchase as many copies as you want before the event ends.
Item | Cost (Red Crystal Fragments) | Category / Notes |
|---|---|---|
Oil Lantern | 2 | Decoration |
Jewel Wall Decorations | 2 | Decoration |
Digital Camera | 5 | Toy |
5 | Toy; required for Treasure-Hunting Set habitat | |
Camping Chair | 5 | Relaxation; paintable |
5 | Decoration; required for Treasure-Hunting Set habitat | |
Sleeping Bag | 10 | Relaxation; paintable |
Camping Cooking Pot | 10 | Functional; works as a pot to make soup |
10 | Toy; required for Treasure-Hunting Set habitat | |
10 | Pre-built house (3x3 tiles); houses 1 Pokemon |
To purchase every item at least once, you need a total of 59 Red Crystal Fragments (approximately 15 cluster breaks at 4 fragments each).
Tent Kit Construction
The Tent Kit functions as a pre-built house that occupies a 3x3 tile area and can house one Pokemon. After purchasing the Tent Kit from the event shop, constructing it requires the following materials and Pokemon:
Requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
20 | |
20 | |
20 | |
Pokemon Helpers | 4 (1 with Build specialty, 1 with Search specialty) |
Befriending Sableye
You automatically befriend Sableye by talking to it in front of the Pokemon Center. Unlike the Hoppip event where you need to build the correct habitat before the Pokemon can join your town, Sableye immediately sets up shop inside the Pokemon Center as the event vendor. However, Sableye cannot be moved into a permanent home during the event. It lives at the shop counter for the entire event window. After the event ends on May 13, 2026 at 4:59 AM, you can invite Sableye to move into a constructed Treasure-Hunting Set habitat if you built one in advance.
Treasure-Hunting Set Habitat
The Treasure-Hunting Set is an optional habitat you can build using event items. Arrange at least a 2x2 grid containing the following items:
Item | Shop Cost |
|---|---|
Building this habitat is not required to befriend Sableye but adds decoration and thematic atmosphere to your town. The habitat works at all times of day (dawn, day, dusk, night) and in any weather condition (sunny, cloudy, rainy), making it functional regardless of where or when you place it. Sableye is classified as a common rarity spawn in this habitat.
Sableye Details
Attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
Type | Dark/Ghost |
Generation | Generation III |
Pokedex Number | E-004 |
Species | Darkness Pokemon |
Specialty | Search |
Pokedex Description | It dwells in the darkness of caves. It uses its sharp claws to dig up gems to nourish itself. |
Availability | Event-exclusive; not available outside this event |
Search Specialty
Sableye has the Search specialty. When you equip the Dowsing Machine and walk with Sableye, you can press the A button to start looking for buried items. This makes Sableye a valuable companion for finding hidden treasure and collectibles throughout your town and on island expeditions.
Sableye's Preferences
Sableye thrives in dark environments and is attracted to items that match its personality. When furnishing its habitat or choosing gifts, keep these preferences in mind:
Preference | Details |
|---|---|
Likes | Spooky things, shiny objects, luxury items, food-like objects, things to watch |
Flavor preference | Sour |
Ideal environment | Dark, cave-like settings |
Cloud Islands Exclusion
Cloud Islands (multiplayer islands separate from the main campaign) do not participate in events. Sableye cannot appear on Cloud Islands, and event items are unavailable there. All event activities must be carried out on your main island and Dream Islands.
Time Traveling
Like the Hoppip event, this event runs on the Nintendo Switch 2's system clock and can be accessed via time travel. By adjusting your console's internal clock to a date within the event window, you can participate even after the event has officially ended. There are no apparent penalties for time traveling to access or replay the event.
Pokemon Center Relocation During the Event
Starting with Version 1.0.4 (April 22, 2026), Pokemon Centers can be relocated while the event is active. Before this patch, the relocation tool was disabled during any limited-time event window, which meant builders who wanted to move a Center had to wait until the Sableye event finished. With 1.0.4, you can use the Pokemon Center Rebuilding Kit to relocate at any time, even mid-event.
Note that Sableye continues to occupy the shop counter at every rebuilt Pokemon Center for the entire event window. If you relocate a Center while Sableye is in residence, the shop and habitat associations move with the new building automatically. Decorations placed inside the previous Center transfer with the rebuild rather than being lost.
Tips
Progress the main campaign and explore different areas before the event starts so you have access to more Dream Islands.
Complete your Pokemon Center construction early so Sableye can appear on day one.
Give Drifloon a Clefairy Doll or Arcanine Doll to access the cave-heavy Dream Islands where Red Crystal Clusters are most common.
Learn the Hamburger Steak recipe from Chef Dente for a mining efficiency boost that makes crystal farming faster.
Each Red Crystal Cluster usually drops 4 fragments, so plan your purchases accordingly. You need at least 15 cluster breaks (60 fragments) to buy one of every item.
If you have spare Rare Pokemetal, use the 3D printing method to supplement your fragment supply without extra cave trips.
The Camping Cooking Pot is a functional item that lets you make soup, making it one of the more practical purchases alongside the Tent Kit.
All shop items have unlimited stock, so there is no rush to buy everything at once.
The Tent Kit requires significant construction materials (20 Twine, 20 Vine Ropes, 20 Iron Ingots) and 4 Pokemon helpers, so gather those resources in advance if you plan to build one.
