Performance is one of the skills available to Teenager through Elder age groups in inZOI. It covers all forms of live entertainment: singing, stand-up comedy, and witty conversation. The in-game description reads: "This skill allows participation in various stage activities. It improves through singing, practicing stand-up comedy, or having humorous conversations."

Performance is separate from the Instrument skill, which governs playing physical instruments and composing music, though the two complement each other well for Zois pursuing an entertainment-focused lifestyle. At higher levels, Performance opens the door to career opportunities in the entertainment industry. A Zoi who develops Performance can avoid being booed or laughed at during public appearances, eventually progressing to the point where they can book comedy club performances and singing competitions from any computer.
There are several methods for raising Performance. The most effective ones involve active practice rather than passive activities.
The fastest way to level Performance is singing using a microphone at home. You can purchase a standalone microphone through Build Mode under the Hobbies category. Once placed in your home, click on it and select the singing option. Your Zoi will practice vocals, belting, and various exercises. Singing sessions can last as long as you want (there is no cooldown), so a Zoi can focus on Performance training for several in-game hours at a stretch. This method requires an upfront Meow investment for the microphone but provides the most reliable and uninterrupted skill gains.
If you prefer not to invest in a home microphone, head to the Coin Booth Karaoke in Dowon. This community entertainment lot is located on the eastern side of Dowon (map location DE3) and operates daily from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The venue's motto is "One coin is all it takes for you to become a pop star." Each karaoke session costs 5 Meow to use a booth. Your Zoi can sing alone or share a duet with another Zoi in the booth.
Singing at the Coin Booth levels Performance at a rate comparable to home practice, with the added benefit of social interaction. Zois in the booth may react positively, building relationships alongside skill. Some Zois have personality traits that make them dislike karaoke, which can affect skill development speed. If the option to visit a karaoke venue does not appear, check that your Zoi does not have a conflicting trait or negative relationship with singing.
While Coin Booth Karaoke is exclusive to Dowon, players living in Bliss Bay have reported finding karaoke machines at bars and entertainment lots. Look for the microphone icon on the city map to locate venues that support singing.
Comedy is the other major branch of Performance. To get started, have your Zoi browse humor sites on a computer by clicking the computer and selecting the Skill Action option. This "humor research" step has your Zoi scrolling through comedy websites for hours, building foundational knowledge they draw on during live comedy. It is a lower-pressure approach that suits Zois who are hesitant about public performance.
After researching, your Zoi can engage in entertaining, humorous conversations with other Zois to make them laugh. Both the research and the conversation activities raise Performance. As the skill improves, a Zoi's comedic timing sharpens, jokes land better, and reactions from conversation partners become more enthusiastic.
A passive and cost-effective approach involves reading books about the performing arts from a bookshelf. This is ideal for Zois who prefer a quieter lifestyle or do not have access to a microphone early in the game. The skill gain is slower than active practice but requires no equipment investment beyond purchasing the book. You can read the same performing arts book repeatedly for continued skill gain, making even a single book a long-term investment.
Watching Music Broadcasts on TV (found under the Entertainment Programs category) provides a small supplementary boost to Performance. Each session takes roughly 10 minutes. This is not a primary training method but can be useful as a background activity while waiting for other needs to recover.
If your Zoi is employed at Adam Entertainment in Dowon as a Rookie, Junior, or Senior Idol Trainee, vocal practice is part of the daily work tasks. Performance increases during practice sessions at work, making the Idol career one of the few ways to earn income and level the skill simultaneously. See the Idol Career section below for details.
Performance follows a standard progression where increasing levels provide tangible improvements:

Skill Level | Effect |
|---|---|
Low levels (1-3) | Basic singing and comedy practice. Your Zoi's performances are rough and audiences react mildly. Humor research on the computer becomes available. Without sufficient skill, public performances risk being booed. |
Mid levels (4-6) | Improved vocal range and comedic timing. Conversations with other Zois become funnier and more engaging. Busking starts to attract more attention from passersby. |
High levels (7-9) | Advanced performances that consistently impress audiences. Stand-up routines become polished. Your Zoi gains access to more career activities in entertainment. |
Level 10 (Max) | Mastery. Your Zoi can book comedy club performances and join singing competitions through any computer. These are scheduled as "rabbit hole" events where your Zoi departs via taxi and returns after the event concludes. |
Note: In Early Access, Level 10 comedy club performances and singing competitions may not yet provide Meow rewards. Some players have also reported a bug where these events cannot be booked on PC despite having Level 10 Performance. Future updates are expected to address these issues and may add compensation for these events.
Busking allows a Zoi to perform in public spaces and earn Meow from passersby. The "Play for Tips" feature was added as a community-requested feature. To busk effectively:
Visit a crowded public lot. Parks, cafes, beaches, and plazas work well. The more foot traffic, the more tips you earn.
Having the Entertainer trait or the Singing preference helps your Zoi perform better and attract larger crowds.
Higher Performance skill levels mean better tips per audience member.
Playing instruments while busking uses the Instrument skill rather than Performance, but both contribute to the entertainment value passersby experience.
Busking income can be inconsistent. Some players have reported issues with crowds not always gathering during busking performances. The best strategy is to busk during peak hours in high-traffic areas.
Performance busking (singing) and Instrument busking (playing guitar, etc.) are tracked separately, so a Zoi who does both can maximize their earning window.
The main performance venues in the game include:

Venue | Location | Details |
|---|---|---|
Coin Booth Karaoke | Dowon, eastern side (map DE3) | Coin-operated booths for solo or duet singing. 5 Meow per session. Open 8 AM to 10 PM daily. |
Bars and lounges | Some lots have open-mic setups or karaoke machines for performing. | |
Public parks and plazas | Both cities | Ideal for busking. Natural foot traffic and may include microphone stands. |
Beach areas | Bliss Bay beachfront | Draws crowds, making it a good busking spot. |
Home | Your Zoi's lot | Private practice with a purchased microphone. No audience, but fastest skill gains. |
Performance is directly tied to the Idol Trainee career at Adam Entertainment, located on the east side of Dowon. This career is exclusively available in Dowon. You cannot become an Idol in other cities like Bliss Bay. The career has three tiers:
Tier | Details |
|---|---|
Rookie Idol Trainee | Entry level. Starting salary is approximately 136 Meow per day. Tasks include vocal practice, dance rehearsals, working out, and studying music production. |
Junior Idol Trainee | Intermediate level with expanded responsibilities and additional task types during work shifts. |
Senior Idol Trainee | The highest tier, where your Zoi is an established trainee performer. |
To join, your Zoi must be a Young Adult. Open your smartphone, go to the Career menu, and select the Rookie Trainee position at Adam Entertainment. The recommended traits are Entertainer or Go-Getter, as both have qualities well-suited to this career path. The Lively trait also aids performance-related skill development speed.
The work schedule is 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 10 AM to 6 PM. Each workday involves six tasks split into two sets of three, in the morning and afternoon. Tasks are selected from a pool of possible activities, and completing all tasks early allows you to leave before the shift ends while still receiving full pay.
Important age restriction: The Idol Trainee career is only available to Young Adults. The moment your Zoi ages up to Adult, they are automatically forced to leave Adam Entertainment. Plan your Zoi's career timeline accordingly.
Performance works alongside several other skills:
Skill | Connection |
|---|---|
Covers playing physical instruments like piano, guitar, and drums. A Zoi pursuing music should develop both. Busking uses the relevant skill depending on whether you are singing or playing an instrument. | |
Dance-related tasks in the Idol career benefit from general fitness levels. Working out is a regular task at Adam Entertainment. | |
The humor and conversation aspects of Performance improve a Zoi's ability to entertain in social settings, which indirectly complements Charm for building friendships and romantic relationships. | |
Studying music production on computers is one of the Idol career tasks, connecting Performance to media skills. |
The 2026 Roadmap includes expanded K-pop performance content for Q2 2026 with new stages, themed environments, idol styling options, and choreographed dance motions, which will further strengthen the connections between Performance, Instrument, and the Idol career path.
