Overview

Drink-related skills in inZOI encompass two systems: the Coffee Craft skill and the Drink Dispenser for mixed drinks. Coffee Craft is a dedicated skill (levels 1 through 10) focused on brewing espresso-based drinks, lattes, and specialty coffees using a Coffee Grinder and Espresso Machine. The Drink Dispenser, introduced alongside the business system in the v0.5.0 December 2025 update (and refined in the v0.5.4 hotfix), allows Zois to prepare mixed drinks including freshly-made fruit juices and other beverages.

Together, these systems let Zois become at-home baristas and beverage crafters. Drinks can be consumed for need satisfaction and mood boosts, shared with friends and family, or sold through a business for profit. Combined with Baking and Cooking, drink skills enable the creation of fully stocked cafes and restaurants.

Coffee Craft Skill

Getting Started

Coffee Craft is available to Zois from the Teenager life stage through Elder, making it one of the most widely accessible skills in the game. To begin brewing:

1. Purchase a Coffee Grinder and an Espresso Machine from the Kitchen Appliances section in Build Mode. You can search for them by name to locate them faster.

2. Place both appliances in your home. They can be set on a counter or table.

3. Click on either the Coffee Grinder or the Espresso Machine and select Make Coffee.

4. Choose a recipe from the available drink list. Locked recipes require a higher Coffee Craft level.

5. Your Zoi will brew the drink. Successfully making coffee automatically raises the Coffee Craft skill.

Important: Pod machines (single-serve Coffee Pod Machines) allow Zois to drink coffee (either regular (4 Meow) or decaf (5 Meow)) but they do not raise the Coffee Craft skill. Only the Coffee Grinder and Espresso Machine combination contributes to skill progression. The Pod Machine produces instant coffee that requires no skill.

All Coffee Recipes by Level

Coffee Craft has 31 drink recipes spread across levels 0 through 10. Recipe costs increase with level, ranging from 5 to 15 Meow per cup. All recipes require both a Coffee Grinder and Espresso Machine unless otherwise noted:

Latte Art

At Coffee Craft level 8, Zois unlock latte art drinks: the Heart Latte, Rosetta Latte, Cat Latte, and Swan Latte. These are among the most visually distinctive drinks in the game and represent mastery of the barista craft. At 13 Meow per cup to produce, they offer strong profit margins when sold in a cafe business. The level 8 recipes also include the Double Chocolate Chip Crunch Shake, a non-coffee specialty.

Coffee Effects

Drinking coffee provides temporary benefits to your Zoi:

• Energy boost temporarily fights off exhaustion and extends how long a Zoi can stay productive

• Mood improvement specialty drinks can provide positive emotional effects

• Social value coffee can be shared with other Zois as a social activity

Note: Coffee expires like food. Do not let it sit out too long or it will spoil and become unusable. Brew it fresh when needed rather than making a large batch in advance.

Drink Dispenser and Mixed Drinks

The v0.5.0 December 2025 update introduced drink mixing as a new feature alongside baking and the business system. According to the official patch notes, Zois can use mixers to concoct various drinks ranging from freshly-made fruit juices to colorful mixed beverages. The types of drinks a Zoi can prepare depend on their age and the objects available on the lot.

The Drink Dispenser (also called the Beverage Dispensing Machine) was refined in the v0.5.4 hotfix. Previously, mixed drinks were prepared via bar tables, but the hotfix consolidated all mixed drink preparation into the dedicated Drink Dispenser object. Drink Dispensers can be placed on business lots, and employees can be assigned to mix drinks.

Mixed drinks come in two tiers based on ingredient cost: lower-level drinks cost approximately 9 Meow to produce, while upper-level drinks cost around 13 Meow. The drink mixing system is separate from the Coffee Craft skill and does not appear to have its own dedicated skill progression at this time.

Known Limitations

As of the v0.5.4 hotfix, the Drink Dispenser system has some known issues that players have reported on the official forums:

• Mixed drinks placed on surfaces may lack commercial options for sale in some business configurations

• Employees assigned to mix drinks may not always stock them into market stands correctly

• The business profitability of drink-focused establishments (lounges, clubs) can be challenging since these venues primarily rely on entry fees rather than per-item drink sales

KRAFTON has been actively addressing these issues through patches, and the system is expected to improve as Early Access progresses.

Running a Cafe Business

Coffee Craft and drink mixing are core components of the Cafe business type introduced in v0.5.0. To set up a cafe:

1. Purchase a business lot through the Edit City window.

2. Register the business through the Business App on the smartphone or by clicking the property.

3. Select the Cafe preset from the Business Type options. This automatically configures customer activities for a coffee shop environment.

4. Place Espresso Machines, Coffee Grinders, and optionally Drink Dispensers on the lot.

5. Set business hours and pricing through Business Settings.

6. Stock beverages by interacting with the coffee machines. Finished drinks are placed on counters or in dispensers for customers to purchase.

Cafe Profitability

Cafes combined with Baking products can generate significant daily income. According to community reports on the Steam forums, a cafe-bakery combination stocking high-quality items can earn between 4,500 and 13,000 Meow daily, depending on the establishment's star rating and product selection. For maximum revenue:

• Level Coffee Craft to level 8 or higher to unlock premium latte art drinks (13 Meow cost, high sale value).

• Offer a variety of drinks at different price points to attract more customer types.

• Stock both hot and iced versions of drinks to appeal to different customer preferences.

• Add baked goods alongside coffee for a combined cafe-bakery that maximizes each customer visit.

• Prepare group-sized batches of food items. According to player reports, group meals sell for approximately 10 times their production cost.

• Stock items before business hours begin to reduce how much preparation is needed during peak customer traffic.

• Hire employees to keep the business running during off-hours or when the Zoi is at another career.

• Visit your business regularly, revenue drops when the owner is not in the area.

Note that the fitness center (gym) business type with paid lectures is currently reported as the most profitable business overall, but cafes and bakeries offer a more engaging hands-on experience for players who enjoy the food crafting gameplay loop.

Coffee Craft vs. Cooking

Coffee Craft is entirely separate from the Cooking skill. Preparing meals at the refrigerator, stovetop, or induction cooktop raises Cooking, while brewing coffee at the Espresso Machine raises Coffee Craft. The two skills do not overlap, and leveling one has no effect on the other. Both contribute to a versatile food service business when combined with Baking.

Similarly, Baking is its own separate skill introduced in v0.5.0. All three food-related skills (Cooking, Baking, and Coffee Craft) level independently and unlock their own sets of recipes.

Tips and Strategies

• You can only brew one cup at a time. To level up quickly, queue multiple brewing actions by clicking the machine repeatedly after each cup finishes.

• Start with cheap recipes like Espresso and Americano (5 Meow each at level 0) to level up without spending too much Meow. Switch to premium recipes once your skill justifies the higher ingredient cost.

• Place the Coffee Grinder directly next to the Espresso Machine to minimize the Zoi's travel time between grinding and brewing.

• The Cold Brew recipe (level 1, 6 Meow) is unique in that it only requires an Espresso Machine, no Coffee Grinder needed. This is useful if you have limited counter space.

• Do not stockpile coffee. It spoils like food, so brew it fresh when needed.

• For business lots, place multiple Espresso Machines to allow hired employees to brew alongside the player Zoi, keeping stock levels high during peak hours.

• Level Coffee Craft to 8 as a priority: the latte art drinks (Heart, Rosetta, Cat, Swan) and the Double Chocolate Chip Crunch Shake are the most valuable recipes and dramatically increase cafe revenue.

• The level 10 recipes (Non-Alcoholic Cafe Royal, Tropical Ember, Feline Grace) cost 15 Meow each to make but represent the pinnacle of the Coffee Craft skill tree.

• Use coffee strategically before work or skill sessions: the energy boost can extend productivity.

• Coffee Craft can be learned starting from the Teenager life stage, so younger Zois can start building the skill early before pursuing other careers.

Coffee Craft is one of the skills available to Teenager through Elder Zois. Other skills in this age group include: Art, Charm, Cooking, Critical Thinking, Fitness, Gardening, Handiwork, Housework, Instrument, Media Production, Performance, Programming, Rhetoric, and others. Additional skills like Collecting, Fishing, and Swimming have also been added. Baking and Drink Mixing were added as skill mechanics in the December 2025 update (v0.5.0), and a Crime skill was added in the same update.
