Overview
Motor Development is one of four child-exclusive skills in inZOI. It represents physical coordination, free movement, and body control. The skill is available only during the Child life stage and caps at Level 5. Motor Development is the child equivalent of the adult Fitness skill. When a child maxes this skill and ages into a Teenager, they receive the Motor Development Aptitude bonus, which automatically sets their Fitness skill to Level 5 out of 10.
How to Level Motor Development
Motor Development can be trained through physical activities available to child Zois:
Activity | Details |
|---|---|
Treadmill | Standard fitness equipment available in Build Mode. Works for both children and adults. |
Yoga mat | Yoga and stretching exercises. Lower energy drain than equipment-based activities. |
Playing with a ball | Kicking, throwing, and catching. A low-cost, accessible way to build the skill. |
Rocking horse | Child-exclusive equipment. Only children can use it, so it avoids competition with adult household members leveling Fitness on shared equipment. |
Basketball hoop | Playing basketball raises Motor Development for children and Fitness for teens and adults. |
Soccer goal | Practicing soccer kicks. Contributes to Motor Development during childhood. |
Skill Level and Maximum
Like all child skills, Motor Development has a maximum level of 5. Unlike adult skills (which progress from 1 to 10), all child skills cap at 5. Once Level 5 is reached, no further Motor Development experience accumulates. The skill is fully developed and the Motor Development Aptitude bonus is locked in for when the child ages up.
Motor Development Aptitude
When a child Zoi's Motor Development skill reaches Level 5 and they subsequently age up to a Teenager, they receive the Motor Development Aptitude bonus. This automatically sets one adult skill to Level 5 out of 10:
Adult Skill | Starting Level with Aptitude |
|---|---|
Fitness | Level 5 (out of 10) |
This is a significant head start. Without the aptitude bonus, reaching Fitness Level 5 takes considerable effort as a teenager or adult. With it, the Zoi begins their teen years already halfway to mastery, which immediately unlocks surfing (requires Fitness Level 3) and provides access to most gym equipment at full effectiveness.
Equipment Tips
Child-exclusive equipment like the rocking horse is valuable in households where adults are also leveling Fitness. Since only children can use the rocking horse, there is no competition for the equipment. By contrast, a treadmill or yoga mat is shared between all household members, and an adult doing a workout session prevents the child from using it.
Comparison with Other Child Skills
Child Skill | Description | Related Adult Skills |
|---|---|---|
Motor Development | Physical coordination and body control | |
Creativity | Imagination and artistic expression | |
Responsibility | Planning and completing tasks | |
Social | Communication and relationship building |
Tips
Place a treadmill or yoga mat in the child's room for easy access. If budget is tight, a ball (found in Build Mode under toys/outdoor) is cheap and effective.
The rocking horse avoids equipment conflicts with adult household members. Use it when shared gym equipment is occupied.
Basketball and soccer also count for Motor Development, making outdoor play a dual-purpose activity (fun + skill).
Children have a 7-day childhood by default. Consistent physical activity can max the skill well before aging up, leaving time to work on Creativity or Social.
Motor Development Aptitude is especially valuable if you plan to pursue surfing, sports careers, or the Fitness Master ambition as an adult.
