Overview
Social is one of four child-exclusive skills in inZOI. It represents effective communication and relationship-building with others. The skill is available only during the Child life stage and caps at Level 5. Social is the child equivalent of the adult Charm and Rhetoric skills. When a child maxes this skill and ages into a Teenager, they receive the Social Aptitude bonus, which automatically sets both Charm and Rhetoric to Level 5 out of 10.
How to Level Social
Social is trained through conversations and interpersonal interactions:
Activity | Details |
|---|---|
Talking to kids at school | The primary method. Children spend significant time at school, making this the most natural and frequent source of Social XP. |
Family conversations | Talking to family members at home. Available anytime without needing to travel. |
Talking to other Zois | Conversations with any Zoi while out and about in the city. Includes neighbors, NPCs, and strangers. |
Talking to a Teddy Bear | Practice communication by talking to a teddy bear toy. A child-exclusive activity. |
Using a Microphone | Practice speaking into a microphone (purchasable in Build Mode). Builds communication confidence. |
Social levels naturally through daily life because children attend school regularly and interact with family members at home. A child with autonomy enabled will often initiate conversations on their own, making Social one of the easier child skills to develop passively.
Skill Level and Maximum
Like all child skills, Social has a maximum level of 5. Once Level 5 is reached, no further Social experience accumulates. The skill is fully developed and the Social Aptitude bonus is locked in for when the child ages up.
Social Aptitude
When a child Zoi's Social skill reaches Level 5 and they subsequently age up to a Teenager, they receive the Social Aptitude bonus. This automatically sets two adult skills to Level 5 out of 10:
Adult Skill | Starting Level with Aptitude |
|---|---|
Charm | Level 5 (out of 10) |
Rhetoric | Level 5 (out of 10) |
This is a strong head start in two socially oriented skills. Charm governs romantic conversations and persuasion, while Rhetoric covers greetings, advice-giving, and effective communication. A Level 5 start in both means the Zoi enters their teen years already well-equipped for dating, relationship building, and social careers.
Comparison with Other Child Skills
Child Skill | Description | Adult Skills Boosted | Number of Skills |
|---|---|---|---|
Imagination and artistic expression | 4 | ||
Social | Communication and relationship building | 2 | |
Physical coordination and body control | 1 | ||
Planning and completing tasks | 1 |
Social is the second-most valuable child skill in terms of adult skill boosts (2 skills), behind Creativity (4 skills). If prioritizing limited childhood time, Creativity and Social together give a head start in 6 adult skills.
Tips
Social levels naturally through daily school attendance. Make sure the child goes to school regularly rather than skipping for other activities.
At home, encourage conversations with family members. The more household members there are, the more conversation partners available.
Social pairs well with Creativity as a priority combination: maxing both gives a Level 5 head start in 6 adult skills (Art, Instrument, Performance, Media Production, Charm, Rhetoric).
Children with the Extroverted characteristic naturally seek out conversations more often, making Social easier to level passively.
The Charm and Rhetoric head start from Social Aptitude is especially valuable for Zois pursuing romance, journalism, law, or other socially demanding careers.
