Overview
Melee Weapons are the hand-to-hand loadouts players use to clear outlaws, plague beasts, and Blackbeard crews. Windrose currently exposes 26 unique melee weapons across six classes: Sabers, Greatswords, Rapiers, Halberds, Clubs, and unarmed Fists. Each class has its own scaling attribute, damage type, and distinct moveset.
This page is the melee root directory. For firearms see Pistols, Muskets, and Blunderbusses on the Weapons roster. For raw stat comparison across every weapon, also see Weapons.

Damage Types and Matchups
Every melee hit deals one of three damage types. The type matters for armor matchups: Crude blunt damage handles heavy plate best, Slash is strongest against lightly armored targets, and Pierce is narrow-profile and preferred for Precision duelists.
Scaling Attributes
Each weapon scales primarily with one of three combat attributes. The scaling grade (D, C, B, A, S) multiplies that attribute's contribution to final damage. Epic variants of the Reliable and Sturdy weapon families push their grade up to S, which is the single biggest damage jump available through ascension.
Attribute | Weapon Classes | Example Weapons |
|---|---|---|
Clubs, Halberds, Arboris Saber | ||
Sabers, Greatswords | ||
Rapiers |
Rarity and Ascension
Rarity determines base ATK and which effect lines appear. Most named weapons ship as both Rare and Epic variants; the Epic is produced by running Ascension at the Weaponsmith Workshop with Tumbaga Ingots, and it keeps the Rare effect while stacking an additional bonus line.
Common: 2 weapons (Broken Blade, Fists).
Uncommon: baseline crafted pieces such as Club, Saber, Rapier, Halberd, Two-Handed Sword, and Smasher.
Rare / Epic: 18 named weapons with signature effects.
Weaponsmith Workshop and Upgrade Path
Every melee weapon in Windrose is crafted and upgraded at the Weaponsmith Workshop. Base recipes at Level 1 use Wood, Copper Ingot, and Rough Hide; upgrade bands swap to Foothills Iron Ingot at Level 6-10 and Mire Metal Ingot at Level 11-15, with Smithing Flux added once the shop is Level 2. Ingot Arborum is the additional ingredient for plague weapons (Arboris Saber, Plague Halberd, Rapier of Devastation, Swamp Creature's Tooth).
