Posture Points are a defensive resource in Windrose that act as additional shields before a character or enemy becomes staggered. They sit alongside Stamina and Temporal Health as the three secondary resource pools that govern combat resilience.
Each blocked attack consumes one Posture Point. When all Posture Points are exhausted, the next hit staggers the defender, opening a window for guaranteed damage and broken-stance attacks. Unblockable attacks marked with a red glint cannot be parried, and must be dodged or sprinted away from regardless of remaining Posture Points.

Heavy weapons such as clubs, halberds, and two-handed swords deal significant Posture damage on each hit, breaking enemy guard faster. Lighter weapons like rapiers deal less Posture damage per hit but apply it consistently. A Perfect Block damages enemy Posture more than a regular block and is the primary way to crack heavy-hitting bosses.
Boss fights against Thomas Richards, High Priestess, and Hands all reward Posture management. Successive Perfect Blocks break each boss's guard, opening clear damage windows. The High Priestess fight has an intermission triggered specifically by breaking her Posture by popping pustules on her back and sides.
