Leveling ground in Pokemon Pokopia is essential for creating flat building areas, clearing terrain for new habitats, and reshaping the landscape. Three different moves can be used for terrain modification, each with different strengths. Proper preparation before leveling saves time and avoids problems like floating trees or overflowing inventory.
Terrain Leveling Methods
Rollout
Rollout is the fastest method for clearing large areas. It destroys blocks while speeding ahead, making it ideal for rapid terrain flattening. Rollout is learned through Graveler's Request. Use this method when you need to clear a wide area quickly.
Rock Smash
Rock Smash provides more controlled, precise block destruction. It breaks one block at a time, which is better for detailed adjustments where you need to preserve specific terrain features. Rock Smash is unlocked by befriending Hitmonchan after building the Exercise Resting Spot habitat.
Magnet Rise
Magnet Rise is a postgame unlock (available only after completing the main story) that restores terrain instead of destroying it. It spits out terrain blocks in a 3x3x1 area, letting you fill holes and build up ground level. This is extremely useful for creating raised platforms and repairing terrain after over-demolition.

Key Limitations
Trees cannot be destroyed with Rollout or Rock Smash. Always use Cut on trees before leveling the terrain underneath.
Inventory fills fast when breaking blocks. Keep Storage Boxes nearby and clear your inventory frequently.
Magnet Rise is postgame only. You cannot restore terrain during the main story without manually placing blocks.
