Overview
Parasect is a Bug/Grass-type Pokemon in Pokemon Pokopia, classified as the Mushroom Pokemon (Dex #018). The bug host is drained of energy by the enormous mushroom on its back, and the mushroom appears to do all the thinking. As the evolution of Paras, Parasect retains the Search specialty and can locate hidden treasures buried underground.

Parasect can appear in two different habitats:

Parasect appears as a Rare Pokemon at both the Elevated Flower Bed (#012) and Flower Garden (#014) habitats. These are the same habitats where its pre-evolution Paras spawns as Common, so you may need to clear out Paras and other common Pokemon to make room for Parasect to appear.
Location
Parasect is found in Withered Wasteland, the starting region. Despite being a Rare Pokemon, both of its habitats are located in this early-game area, so dedicated players can recruit Parasect without needing to progress to later regions.
How to Befriend
Build the Elevated Flower Bed or Flower Garden habitat and wait for Parasect to appear. Because it is Rare, you may need to cycle through common Pokemon at the habitat first. Dismantling and rebuilding the habitat or clearing out existing Pokemon can help reset spawns. Once Parasect shows up, interact with it to receive its befriending request. Specialty: Search
Parasect has the Search specialty, the same as its pre-evolution Paras. Search Pokemon locate hidden Lost Relics, Music CDs, and Mysterious Slates buried underground. Walk around the island with Parasect, and it will react when a hidden item is nearby. Dig at the indicated spot to collect the treasure.

The preference for "Strange stuff" is unique to Parasect and reflects its unusual nature as a bug controlled by a parasitic mushroom.
Evolution
Parasect is the final evolution of Paras. The evolution line is straightforward with no branching paths: Paras evolves directly into Parasect.

Tips
Parasect's Search specialty works the same as Paras's. If you already have Paras doing Search duty, Parasect can serve as a second Search Pokemon in a different area.
Place strange and unusual items near Parasect's habitat. This is one of the few Pokemon that likes "Strange stuff," so lean into that with quirky decorations.
If you are struggling to find Parasect at Rare rarity, try clearing common Pokemon from the Elevated Flower Bed or Flower Garden to reset the spawn pool.
Use Parasect to hunt for Mysterious Slates in the Withered Wasteland. These slates are needed for legendary Pokemon encounters.
