Overview
Handy Bag is a key inventory upgrade in Pokemon Pokopia that adds 10 quick-access slots and a pinnable on-screen toolbar. It is one of the highest-value early-game purchases because the toolbar lets you swap items mid-action without opening the bag menu.

Function
Quick Access
The Handy Bag adds 10 slots to your inventory that you can populate with frequently used items: berries for PP recovery, Lumber and Stone for on-the-fly building, Sturdy Sticks, Vine Rope, and so on. Items in these slots remain accessible even when your main bag is closed.
On-Screen Toolbar
Press right-stick click to pin the Handy Bag toolbar to the bottom of your screen. The toolbar displays all 10 slots and their current contents. Use the D-Pad to scroll between slots, and press A to use the selected item. To return items to your main inventory, hold ZL and press Y while the toolbar is visible.
Move Switching Conflict
Important: while the Handy Bag toolbar is pinned, you cannot switch Pokemon Moves using the D-Pad (which normally swaps your active move). Instead, hold L and use the analog stick to switch moves during gameplay. This is the main downside of leaving the toolbar pinned permanently.
How to Obtain
Reach Environment Level 3 in Withered Wasteland.
Earn 500 Life Coins through Daily Activities, quests, and challenges.
Visit any rebuilt Pokemon Center PC.
Open the PC Shop and select "Handy Bag" for 500 Life Coins.

The Handy Bag is functionally distinct from the four Packing Tips Books (Rookie, Intermediate, Pro, Expert), which add capacity to the main bag. The Handy Bag adds 10 slots that are separate from the main bag and accessible via the on-screen toolbar:

The Handy Bag is one of the three highest-priority upgrades to buy in Pokopia, alongside the Pokemon Center Rebuilding Kit and Packing Tips Rookie. The toolbar saves significant time during long building sessions.
Populate your Handy Bag with materials you use constantly: building blocks, Leppa Berries, and your most-used Pokemon's gift items.
Toggle the toolbar off when you need to switch moves quickly during exploration. Toggle it back on for building and crafting sessions.
Buy this before more capacity-focused Packing Tips upgrades if you have only 500 Life Coins. The toolbar feature is more impactful than another 30 slots in many gameplay situations.
